@@TheScenick - nah, it's a bad cold. Passenger car interiors tend to make very decent makeshift recording booths as they're well insulated and padded with lots of sound deadening material

the review is actually the exact thing youve described it isnt. "its obviously a joke", 7 seconds later "its surprisingly good". Constant forced jokes, exagerrating, overexcitement. I guess you forgot, if you even ever watched, the old Harris. He was leagues better then, more serious, less verbal diarrhea, less trying to be funny and entertaining, often not even thinking what he is saying.

my half time job is to put Mercedes G Wagens onto train waggons for export. These cars are produced right next to my workplace in Graz, Austria. I mainly drive G63s and G500s because these are the most wanted configurations ordered outside of Europe. Still enjoy every ride although im not allowed to go around fast corners with these brand new cars. I have also driven the older model G Wagen with the 5.5l biturbo and i really prefer the older ones when it comes to engine power. The 5.5l has such a high torque its very impressive, even compared to the 4l, which is also nice.
@@hxkdneuxbxjdidndnxj not exactly. The G Wagen is build by Magna-Steyr. So the guys there are the first to drive them. Then the cars get loaded onto trucks and brought to us. So to be correct Im the third one:)
U know I said the same thing when I first drove the new 4L twin turbo engine. I thought the 5.5L felt much more torquey. The new engine is nice but there was something special about the 5.5L twin turbo, it felt like it was a little more angry, where the new engine feels more relaxed.. just my opinion. I drove both engines in both AMG and regular benz spec and the torque feel was the same respectively

Chris is the glue of the show, and he does an amazing job. The tricky part is to be able to talk and drive at the same time, and he does it well. Always a fan of top gear and always will be.

You had me LOLing more than once. I am 100% getting one of these. I rented one for a few days using TURO and drove it in LA. Perfect car for the city or backroads. Nothing not to love about this thing. Price is a bit out there but it's the kind of thing you can own for 10 years and get a ton of pleasure out of.

The G Wagen really is for people who care about their image. It just makes you look cool. That's what the G Wagen has come about now. If you want luxury, performance and want to look understated, then it's the S Class to go for.
Love the production quality of this I must say.
I love the color of this car and glad to see that some brands are resurrecting the military green for their SUVs.
I don't know why but I personally have always wanted to take high powered SUV on the track and just drive in fear and full on rush to lay down the fastest lap time possible!. Happy to see Chris Harris has done just that!.

@@vaughnsigal4560 I do not know if Chris has a cold or not when this was recorded, only Chris can answer that. What I can confirm though is that if you listen to the audio through headphones it is flat, muffled and distorted, so it's hard to tell (but you are obviously in the know if you say he did). However, suck in front of the camera? He most certainly does not..

Agree with all of you - New Jimny, G-Wagen, Wrangler, Land Cruiser have kept their valuable DNA and "off-road" look. Defender has thrown away all its heritage by stopping production - and will the New Defender look similar to the previous one - like all the above have managed to do? Or will it just be another suburban SUV? Great shame.

In an Auto Express article about the G63 published in April 2018, it is mentioned that “the car in Merc’s initial images features *a chrome bumper guard that won’t be offered in the UK”* but mentions that the rest of the package “will all be available to British customers.” Now, about that chrome bumper guard - why isn’t it offered in the UK like the rest of this package?

Ever since the hummer died, the G wagon has been uncontested as the posh suv of choice. The wrangler, land cruiser, 4Runner, Land Rover, and FJ cruiser never put up much of a fight against this as a pure status symbol of wealth and excess
