The prime minister has been defending England's border controls after it emerged that officials have been unable to find one of six people infected with a variant of coronavirus first found in Brazil.
The six cases were identified last month prompting accusations that the government hadn't acted fast enough with the introduction of mandatory hotel quarantine.

1) Many people can leave for jobs and whatnot, they also come back later. 2) Not "everyone" can come in, as above only people that have reasons. 3) Many other countries have the "English variant" spreading in their country, they could say the same about you. Exactly that was has pissed me off for the past year. You can't tell the public to do one thing and have airports still open. Only cargo should have been allowed but our government basically inept gave the green light for people to go on there jollies as they please. Some unnecessary trip 10 months after pandemic started undone all the hard work on finding reliable vaccine. Lets not mention the great idea of 50% off food that caused crowds to fill there bellies no social distancing giving much needed rest bite for the hospital workers.
His concern is mainly economic impact from Coronavirus. It's quite contradictory, yeah.

Taiwan that has healthy borders is not 'cut off'. Their economy has increased with more imports and exports. They have no internal lockdown and next to no deaths. In Asia they think the uk/eu/usa model is bonkers given it leads to mass deaths and a destroyed economy. Healthy borders is a superior model to follow.

For 10 days self isolation after we arrived with my wife from Bulgaria no one come to check us are we folow the guidelines to stay at home wherever. I got call from some operative to explain me what we have to do and we have to stay 10 days at home. Because they haven't got a clue. Not rocket science to see the countries that closed there borders are a lot better off now. The airports should have been closed full stop but no they encourage people to travel freely. Accept for a small window to allow british citizens to come back from working abroad but not 12 months on still open.

I find this really hard to wrap my head around. Even if this person didn’t fill out form properly, we still unfortunately have cameras monitoring us everywhere nonstop these days. If it is really important to find this one person, take the job away from dept of health track & trace and let mi5 have a crack at it. Of course, if mi5 don’t find this person we have a really serious issue beyond just one idiot that came into the country from Brazil/Switzerland and they’re not fit for purpose. This is the kind of story that just infuriates people about government, we put up with an astonishing level of intrusion into our lives these days but the pay off is meant to be in cases like this or someone about to bomb something- if that isn’t true, I want all these bloody cameras ripped out of the walls and roads if they’re only there to harass normal citizens with fines.
If this person filled in their papers incorrectly, shouldn't they have put out an announcement of their name identity etc? I'd want to know and their family and friends would have known, rather because of privacy etc it spread!

All hospitals are at full capacity and very crowded, now. We are desperate! We are collapsing again here! So, over a hundred people have been dying every day, since the end of January.
