  • Somebody once said "Just because you have new paint, does that mean you repaint the Mona Lisa?" and I think that is the most accurate way to describe these remakes. Changing classic movies to conform to modernistic ideologies is dumb because it is like trying to gloss over history to a point where history is unrecognizable. Not all past history is great but you have to still acknowledge that *it exists* regardless of how modern audiences look back on it now. The original Snow White is a timeless masterpiece because it is itself a part of history and history is reflected in it.

  • My problem with the casting of Rachel Zegler isn’t only that she isn’t “snow white” as the titular character has been very specifically described, but also how could anyone deem her more beautiful than Gal Gadot? That was the premise of the tale - the Queen’s jealousy drove her to want Snow White dead. I can’t imagine someone who looks like Gal Gadot being jealous of or insecure about Rachel Zegler who’s pretty enough (when she isn’t making the oddest faces) but not by any stretch a great beauty.

      @GoldenMushroom64@GoldenMushroom642 ай бұрын
    • @@GoldenMushroom64 That’s exactly my point. The Queen was the fairest in the land until Snow White came along. Gal Gadot is a beauty (Miss Israel anyone?). Rachel Zegler is pretty in a dime-a-dozen kind of way. Why would anyone who looks like Gal Gadot be jealous of her?

      @mpb3481@mpb34812 ай бұрын
    • @@mpb3481 Some people assumed that's the character arc of Evil Queen. Even when she's way prettier than anyone in the world, she will still be evil and get jealous of others' normal look. Maybe the original cartoon didn't make to seem that way (as Snow White in cartoon seems prettier than queen) but the live action is going in this direction because Gadot surely is prettier than Rachel.

Zegler exhibits a level of smugness that is unbecoming of an actor staring in a movie that has delighted generations and is very justly considered a classic precisely because its values transcend the vicissitudes of time rather than being a product of a fleeting presence. • "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is deeply rooted in German folklore, having been popularized by the Brothers Grimm in the 19th century. This story, known in its original German as "Schneewittchen," is a treasure from the rich tapestry of European folk traditions. Stripping it of its origins and heritage would be akin to removing the essence of its cultural context. The characters, settings, and motifs are intrinsically European, reflecting the environment, values, and beliefs of the time and place from which they emerged. To reimagine them outside of this context would not only dilute the story's historical and cultural significance but also fail to honor the authenticity of the narrative that has captivated audiences for centuries.

    • There's people who like strong male characters who don't need anyone or women either. Mgtow said men don't like relationships, and said women are just golddiggers and burdens. Why do you think it's only ok for men to not want anyone or women? Also, just because people don't want a relationship doesn't mean they're bad. Some men said they don't want male characters or men to do everything. Superhorrorbro played the demo of the House of Ashes. In that game, a male character let a female character fall cause she was dragging him down. There was a comment that said that it's good he let her fall and didn't help her to not be a simp. So some men think it's bad if male characters to help female characters. So what's the point of you wanting female characters to want men? On ZackScottgames review on the Mario movie, he said he thought inactive female characters are boring.

Don’t get me wrong, there are black people that don’t share my sentiment. These people believe that the movie studios actually care about us😂😂😂…… No! All they care about is trying to make more money…… if they Disney really cared about us, they would make original content based on our stories. But it seems that the only black stories they know are slave stories and that doesn’t fit Disney’s happy agenda. So they slop us into recycled European stories. But, if they were a little less racist they would find that there are literally hundreds of happy black or African stories that everyone can relate to. If they did that, I think people would not have a problem with diversity in movies.

Owned all the tapes and books and plushies and the whole 9 yards. Would go to the Grand Floridian once a year every year for an extended vacation. She would boil us hot dogs for lunch and would play the tapes on the TV (it was on top of the fridge so no one could reach up to touch it lol). I remember the commercials on TV for the “Disney Vault Collection” and they would only release and sell VHS in limited runs at a time, or at least that’s how I remember it, but the Vault was a real thing. All this backstory to say, once absolutely every Disney property has a live action remake, I imagine Disney putting ABSOLUTELY EVERY ANIMATED CLASSIC back into the “Vault”, no longer available for the public to see. That’s my guess. I only saw the first Avengers and the first of the 3 new Star Wars Trilogy, and knew it wasn’t like the stuff I saw as a kid. So I stopped watching anything Disney a while ago. A Controlled Opposition is a protest movement that is actually being led by government agents. Nearly all governments in history have employed this technique to trick and subdue their adversaries, notably Vladimir Lenin who said, "The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves." When the people who control the Federal Reserve also control Hollywood, it doesn't matter if these movies "flop" or not, they can keep printing money until the end goal is achieved. The current belief being asserted in the US/West. Communism and Religion Abolished - all religious and metaphysics is rejected. Engels and Lenin agreed that religion was a drug or “spiritual booze” and must be combated. *To them, atheism put into practice meant a “forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.”* Steps one and two of the "Four steps for ideological subversion". (Yuri Bezmenov, 1985) 1. Demoralization - this is a process which can take about 15-30 years to perform (a generation). During this stage, the moral fibre and integrity of the country is put into question, thereby creating doubt in the minds of the people. To do so, manipulation of the media and academia is required to influence young people. As the younger generation embraces new values, such as Marxism and Leninism, the older generation slowly loses control simply through attrition. Again, true facts no longer matter during this stage, but rather creating perceptions are of paramount importance. Eliminating American exceptionalism, fundamental change of national identity, structural deconstruction of foundational principles, elimination of religion. Embedding a new societal design upon the psyche of generations through ideological academia, peer pressure by elites upon academics and society to convince that prior values were inherently flawed, racist, prejudiced etc. National identity is diluted with aspersions toward historical references. National History is re-written, re-defined, and molded to fit the new intended behavioral model and create the new values. ---By remaking these well-loved, established IPs for a "modern audience", they are essentially trying to rewrite history to fit Marxist ideology. You might even say these movies are doing their part in trying to help overthrow all existing social conditions. 2. Destabilization - the purpose of this step is to change the status quo, particularly the country's economy, foreign relations, and defense systems. The intent is to create a massive government permeating society and becoming intrusive in the lives of its citizens. This can take from two to five years to perform, again with the active support of academia pushing youth in this direction. Here, entitlements and benefits are promised to the populace to encourage their support. Basically, they are bribing the people to accept their programs. Bezmenov claims after this stage is completed, the naive college professors are no longer needed and since they will undoubtedly protest government policies when they discover the truth, they will be disposed of quickly. He cites examples of this occurring in Nicaragua, Grenada, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. *“[T]he useful idiots, the leftists who are idealistically believing in the beauty of the Soviet socialist or Communist or whatever system,* when they get disillusioned, they become the worst enemies. That’s why my KGB instructors specifically made the point: never bother with leftists. Forget about these political prostitutes. *Aim higher.* [...] They serve a purpose only at the stage of destabilization of a nation. *For example, your leftists in the United States: all these professors and all these beautiful civil rights defenders. They are instrumental in the process of the subversion only to destabilize a nation. When their job is completed, they are not needed any more.* They know too much. Some of them, when they get disillusioned, when they see that Marxist-Leninists come to power-obviously they get offended-they think that they will come to power. That will never happen, of course. They will be lined up against the wall and shot.” So the pendulum swings, now violently, now slowly; and every institution not only carries within it the seeds of its own dissolution, but prepares the way for its most hated rival. William Ralph Inge "Democracy and the Future" The Atlantic Monthly (March 1922) Liberal Marxist ideologies are being promoted in such a way people will go the opposite direction, accepting their most hated rivals (Ultra-Orthodox Religious Conservative Fascists) as the "solution" to the Communist problem. This, in turn, creates a Fascism problem that must be dealt with, just like in WW2. The world will turn against the United States, and being convinced everything the US MSM has put out is government propaganda, they will turn to Russia (who has been demonized by US Media, making them "victims" of said propaganda) for help in defeating the fascist threat to the world. Former high ranking KGB Agent Vladimir Putin, who has remained a Dictator for roughly 20 years, will happily oblige by initiating a nuclear attack followed by a joint invasion with China coming from the West, and Russia from the North.

A full-length animated feature film that was a massive risk at the time. Its place in movie history cannot be denied. It seems like Disney has now run out of ideas and these live remakes of animated classics haven't really hit the same note as the originals.
