The Razer Viper Mini and SteelSeries Rival 3 are two great budget gaming mice. They are extremely similar but there a few key differences which set them apart.   • Both are really similar. both centered hump. I like both, but I like to use lizard grips on the viper mini to make it a bit wider for palm grip.

  • Watching this after buying a rival 3. I was sold as I've been using a Steel series Kinzu V2 for 5-6 years and it a similar weight and shape to rival 3. (And it only cost me 20 quid)

  • There are two major differences that you did not mention: 1. Rival 3 is A-shaped, more narrow in the front and wider in the back. Viper Mini is V-shaped. This makes Rival better for claw grip and Viper for fingertip grip. 2. The buttons do not feel the same, Viper uses proprietary optical switches that are great for MOBA games and not so good for FPS games.

    • It's funny that razer made the viper mini for fps games, but yeah everyone has their own opinion, I think that the viper mini does a really good job while you play fps games!

    • Exactly. I don’t think he did this comparison nicely. Rival 3 is a perfect mouse for palm/claw (medium hands) and claw for larger hands. Viper mini is mainly for finger tip unless you’re a 12 year old. Sensors are both the same.

  • Viper Mini is 1-2$ cheaper here, I dont really care about performance because I've been playing games with 5$ mouses.. I picked up Rival 3 because of it's design being clean and the 3 zone RGB

  • My viper mini scroll wheel and left click broke in less then a week so I will probably go with the rival 3, I just don’t know if the side buttons r good or not

    • That's unfortunate as it's a great mouse. Mine isn't showing any signs of breaking so maybe you just got unlucky. The Rival 3 is a great mouse, the side buttons are a bit annoying but you can defiantly live with them.

    • I think the Viper Mini is quite a bit better but $25 is a very good deal for the Rival 3 and it is still a great mouse

  • I just ordered a viper mini for $40 CAD (Otherwise it's $55). I'm worried about the size however since I've always used Palm grip. My hands are 18 cm from tip of middle finger to the wrist so I was wondering if I could get away with Palm grip.

    • You might be okay, just give it a go. You will naturally adjust your grip slightly to suit the mouse and it just depends whether that is comfortable or not.

  • I was able to find the rival 3 at my local walmart when i bought it and i have found it in multiple other walmarts. It was nice because of my budget and i was able to get it for 25 bucks

    • You can only make it higher, a firmware update has apparently improved the lift off distance since I made this video though. It wasn't terrible anyway so I'm sure it's fine now

    • Same, it's 30 dollars, good sensor, decent cable, size that fits my hands PERFECTLY, and it's light up at the bottom. It makes my skill go up 25%.

    • @@Tekify probably because of the price. If they were the same price then Razer would be the clear winner. Ironically the Rival 3 costs more in Europe, so I guess the Viper Mini is the clear winner in Europe.

  • Can’t really call it the clear victor mate. Just used both mouses, (current mouse death adder v2 is too big for me to finger tip). Rival 3 felt more like tailor made for claw grips. Reminds me of a Xm1r , maybe feels even better. Viper mini is much smaller and lighter, but it’s primarily to finger tip. Sensors are basically both the same, can’t give the edge to one there. Personally I much rather prefer the rival 3 as my hands are big, I can finger tip it perfectly.

  • Hey the hp x900 is a great mouse at about 350 rupees or about 5 dollars. It weighs about 73 grams. Idk about the sensor quality. I am not a professional gamer so I couldn't tell about sensor quality and all that. But overall the mouse is great for FPS games. It just makes popping heads in counter strike way easier😍😍.
