- In a 2015 study conducted at Taiwan’s National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Science, researchers had participants suffering from bloating and excess fluid retention do a 15-minute stomach massage twice a day. After just 3 days, the participants reported decreased abdominal bloating.
- When you're first starting to do the massage, experts recommend going slow and being gentle with your body. If you find that some areas of your abdomen are a bit tender, lighten your pressure.
- Toxins in your body are released during massage. That’s why it’s highly recommended that you increase your intake of fluids, specifically water, during this time. This will help your body get rid of these released toxins more effectively and efficiently.
- Become your body’s cheerleader and try to get in a couple of 20-minute massages every day. You can do it when you wake up in the morning and before you go to sleep at night.
- In terms of oils, it’s better to use olive oil or coconut oil. When you pour the oil on your hands, always rub them together to warm them up.
- Do not perform the massage right after eating or if you have a bad stomachache or the flu. If you perform the massages for menstrual cramp relief, keep in mind that they do increase blood flow.
- It’s always a good idea to consult your doctor before trying any at-home remedies like massage.

Yeah, this is so true. I started lessening my carbs,and I started the stomach massages and within three days my stomach looks like it's trying to get flat ,and I only massaged very gentle for less than five minutes a day and still got noticeable results !

Not saying that my belly is flatter yet, but after only one round of doing these massages standing up, and it have worked wonders on my chronic discomfort of bloating and digestive pain after eating. I've been a Massage Therapist for 20+ years. If anyone was wondering, the reason you go left to right is bc that's the flow of your ascending, transverse, and descending colon. It helps move waste in an outward flow direction. If you go counter clockwise for the entire 15-20min you may feel a little backed up or sluggish. Drink 8-16oz of water afterwards.

I usually get a massage once a week and I love having my abdomen massaged, but have to ask for it as most therapists don't automatically give you one of those. I do it myself but prefer to have someone else do it for me...awesome!
I started the day before yesterday, I'm gonna do a record here in the comment so yeah... Aug 1: Nothing happened yet Aug 2: Something happened a little, I became a little smaller than before. Like I lost 2 inch if measured. Aug 3: Big change 'though Aug 4: my waistline before Aug 2 was 40 then during aug 2 it turned 38 then now it's 35. I do this after I wake up, After exercise and before bed. Really effective 'though Aug 5: Great results as of aug 5, I noticed a lot of change. My belly is almost to having an abs, I can't wait to get super slim. Aug 6: Still the same with yesterday Aug 7-16: forgot to update the previous days but anyways, yes it really works and I double the time or reps so it'll work out super fast (for me) and I exercise regularly that's why it really really works Aug 19: just a quick update cause I'm still watching descendants 2, my waistline is from 40 to 38 to 35 and now it's 32. (Again I do it with exercise and with a not that strict diet but I can say it's strict for me) Sept 20: a very very late update, I kind of stop exercising but I do fasting together with this and I can say that it really works but then I also stopped this thing for like how many weeks cause I've been very busy but then continued like last saturday. Oct 25: haven't updated for what seems like a month. Btw I stopped using this technique because I was so busy with my modules that I completely forget to do it but I started doing it again for like once a week, my waistline increased to 33 because I've been stress eating that's why I decided to use it again.
Today's update? Is it effective? Bcoz jst in the 2nd day u lost 2 inches. If it is tht effective I'd try it too.

Tried remind me to come back for motivation. Day one: Standing up- felt some results but could not see much of anything did help reduce some pressure. Laying down on back- repeated the same ones but changed it around.

When I did a massage course I was told to only move hands in right to left direction, as this is way the digestive system works. Some of the movement suggested here are from left to right I was told that could make people feel sick.
