I kind of like the PlayStation 2 logo popping up when you play a game from that generation on new gear.
He didn't complain about the logo being there, he used it as evidence that it is running an emulator, which means it can easily run any game but Sony chooses to lock it up.

Xbox does a similar thing with backwards compatible games where it plays the boot intro for the old console and I love it.
Astro’s playroom is a surprise hit. They made such great use of the dual sense controller. The first the time adaptive triggers kicked was super fun.
I enjoyed it as well, even though it eats up the DualSense controller’s battery like Pac-Man at a farmers market. All the vibrations from the controller and no way to turn them off really ate up the battery.

Just got my PS5 today. Fuck man, this thing _screams._ No joke. I’ve even yet to play a dedicated PS5 game and the feeling of next gen is huge. It’s just snappy quick in everything it does. Switching between games is a matter of seconds. What I love most so far is how cohesive it all feels to an overall PlayStation experience, and my PS4 is completely unneeded now. I’m highly impressed by this system. It’s a pleasure to play and was 100% worth it.

I got the pulse 3D headset, and it’s amazing on the ps5. It honestly sounds better than Dolby atmos. Also Linus is right; the ps5 is a perfect companion for pc gamers. You can play games that your pc can’t get, and they run very smooth. Plus the exclusives are amazing.

This is the worst entrance to the next generation we've had. Between stock shortages, stolen packages, bad performing games, game disappointments, don't think a generation has had this many problems so close on release. Let's hope for the future for these consoles
4:06 the biggest change for this i think is loading the plains of eidolon on ps4 it takes 40+ seconds and on ps5 it takes around 12 seconds

The point of the SSD (and related IO systems) isn't level loading, but level STREAMING. If you can quickly load only the data you need at time of rendering (ie. the direction you are facing), you can load high resolution assets for the room you're in rather than assets for a large chunk of the level in the case that you "may" need them. This results in a far better utilization of VRAM, reduces load times, and promises unprecedented texture/geometric detail for games that are built to utilize this feature.

Has Linus done a video on the PC build at the end? I would really like a breakdown of it.
The fact they showcased Rogue Galaxy was nice to me, even if Linus might not know what it is, but I'm guessing someone on his team does, or was a fan of the game. SUPER UNDERRATED JRPG, and I bought it on my PS4. I've probably beaten it at least 2-3 times, and I always enjoy going back and replaying it.
Ok dude, his passion clearly inspired his review but this is an EXCELLENT review.

This frankly helped me to realize whether or not I really want a PS5. And sure, it'll be nice to have, one day, when all the features are released or there's an upgraded pro version. But in the end, I'm much happier to wait that time thanks to Linus' review. Not that I can get a console right now anyway. And I can thank my bank for preventing me from buying off StockX.

For me it’s absolutely worth it for 500 and I don’t mean in a hypothetic way based on numbers or general opinion, I mean it as someone who actually owns and plays the console. Now I dot mean that everyone should rush and try to get one, right now there’s only a few games that take any advantage of its capabilities and it’ll be a while before games are designed with the new consoles in mind rather than focus on compatibility with older consoles.

Something that I don't see reviewers talking about it how most headsets support 3D audio. And it sounds quite good on the PS5. Also, if you have a normal headset and you plug it in to the new PS5 controller, it sounds better than when you use a PS4 controller. The overall loudness is just great and you have a range you can turn the volume down to now. On PS4 you had to max out most headsets and it was still a bit low.

Will i have improvements with a 120hz screen. Will the HDMI 2.1 give me a Boost? @@erfannomore2828 the original models can support ps2, they have all the ps2 hardware internally. The model from the metal gear solid bundle used to be able to support ps2 but it was partial emulation and it no longer works.
The Dualsense controller works great for my PC games and the Steam Beta Update.

Sure that SSD isn't instant, but loading miles morals from cold takes 6 seconds and then loading a game from a save, 2 seconds. It's impressive.

I think that reactive force trigger system would be a great GT7 feature. Imagine FEELING the pulsing of antilock brakes in the trigger, or having a traction-control system that actively prevented you from pushing the accelerator when doing so would spin the drive wheels.

Remote play has not been a new feature. It's been available since playstation 3 with the hook up of the psp then 4 with the psp vita and I feel like you could also remote play on playstation TV. You may not know because you may play Xbox or pc mostly

@@zolikat4458 - savegames on local drives (including pendrives) have been used to bypass certain system protection, and in some cases allowed booting of other operating systems even. ;) If that is possible, you can probably figure out the options open to using "trialware"... :P

I switched to pc gaming recently but if PlayStation had full backwards compatibility I would buy one in an instant, being able to grab a game from my ps2 or 3 library and play it would be great especially for games that don’t have a remaster like the midnight club series

There is STILL and issue with USB drives and rest mode. I'm using a USB SSD for my PS4 games, and if you use rest mode, every boot it says the usb drive is corrupt and needs repair (it takes 1 second to complete) - For now this means I cannot use cool features like rest mode updates and pushing games via the app, but i've disabled rest mode until they either fix this or let me use the damn M.2. I disagree with LTT on one thing, I think Microsoft implementation of expandable storage is way better and more obvious for the general user

Bugsnax actually has an incredible story attached to it. I can tell you guys didn’t bother playing it past an hour.
They were not really reviewing the game itself, but how it is on next gen hardware. For a launch title, it does not really take advantage of the new hardware and is just kind of boring compared to the other games.
