In this episode you can see the process of replacing an evaporator on a BMW 5 series e34, unfortunately the evaporator with which it was replaced was not original (the original one is exaggeratedly expensive) and not very similar to the OEM one , but in the end it I made it fit

Another gorgeous vintage BMW - thanks a million for showing us this beauty! Always a pleasure seeing you 💪🏻😏 And once again I applaud your commitment to cleaning up where you work - most often I get my car back in a slightly worse condition than before because its dirty from the work done - you return the car in a “like new” condition! Absolutely gorgeous!!
That’s some mint condition e34, nice 👍🏻
Indeed it is , that was the reason for which I took this job
Excellent video, great camera angles and editing. Thank you for uploading.
Thanks for appreciation and for feedback 😊
Really great job with both the evaporator and the video. Thanks for posting it so everyone could see the process!
Thank’s a lot for this video. You saved me a lot of money. My 535i from 1988 had exactly this problem. BMW's workshop requirement is to remove the cockpit. This costs a lot of time and money. Greetings from Germany
Hello, very good video, excellent view and explanation and in particular congrats for doing it so easily! I'm installing a new evaporator on my e34 and I'm having several pains to align pipes from the expansion valve to the bulkhead pipes! They get in contact too low under the hole in the footwell side, and I'm not sure if they close properly. How do you have the whole evaporator in the case slightly twisted as seen from 9:39 ? Any more tips in general to do it correctly? Thank you very much 🙏🏻
That E-34, sure is in awesome condition👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍
Yes indeed!
Nice and clean job, well done.
Thanks 👍
congratulations ...excellent work!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed !!
Incredible tutorial to fix the A/C, do you do this also if you are converting the A/C to the newer refrigerant from freon.
Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Tine sus munca buna,Ovidiu.
Nice job always again!
Thank you! Cheers!

Perfect job 👍
Thank you so much 😀
Nice and proper E34:)
Indeed it is!
suuper !! Am doua E38 ....dar putin timp sa ma ocup de ele !!
Having the Evap. and Heater Core and Blower Fan Resistor replaced on my E34 now. The heater core must be more involved.
Wish my e34 525i 1989 model was clean like that
Very good job...
Thank you! Cheers!
Good video, today I do the same job on my BMW 735i E32, is almost same at the E34.
Nice! I hope that this video helps you and you will do a good job
@@MOvidiu yessss it's work great!
I just realized my car has a lot of missing parts😂
Wow great
Great!
good job
Thank you! Cheers!
Hello Mister, I admit you definetely know what you are doing :) Your vid is helpful, i am in middle of retrofitting AC into my e34. May I ask you what is the white grease/glue you are using around AC O-rings for sealing?
Hello, it is grease to make the o-rings to slide in its perfect place , if not there is a risk to pinch the o-ring , but you will grease the o-rings a short time before installing becouse the o-rings will swell from the grease 😉
@@MOvidiu Ah, I got it. Many thanks for tips;)
Is it possible that on my e34 1989 m20b20 i have no cabin filter? i really have anythi g in front of the resistor
Very very good 👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I know the early models with no AC didn't come with any microfiber cabinfilter, any idea if they still have the opening next to the glovebox or if the only entrying to the heat register is through the engine bay? Have a couple 88 model 520i E34s that really should get this done one of these days... Trying to find out before I use time at taking the glovebox and panels out.. haven't gotten wiser from realoem
Hi, I don't know this information either, but maybe there is someone who is watching this video and can give an answer to your question ....
@@MOvidiu Found the best way to do it, there is no way of opening it with taking the entire heating box out and splitting it open in the middle that is also pretty hard even if got the entire heater box out... something one would have to do to change the heater core... as it is sitting in the top of the middle of the box... its the valeo system.. my car didnt come with those vents in the bqck of the midconsole, but the shape is there to connect it on under the midconsol.. in my 91 mod it was a cover to screw off.. on my 88 mod it was just solid, so had to use a knife to cut out a opening... this place where the tube to the back wents connect is at the lowest point inside the heater system, under the heater core.. so I just turned it on and blew all the junk out and vacumed it after creating the opening with the knife, the plastic was really soft and it was fearly easy to do... so next time I want to clean inside it. I "just" take off the console, but I did install fans for the backseats, so it will now blow it all out instead of filling up with the junk:D so problem solved, annoying how hard changing the heater core would be, but at least all the junk inside dosn't land on it, so at least that is nice.
Ce marca este evaporatorul ? Am luat de la delphi si are țevile unde vine supapa mai inalte cu 10mm față de cel original si nu am reușit să-l montez.
13.45 That plastic protective cover which covers the whole blower unit. It's this on all e34? I don't have it on mine. Trying to find source of water drips coming into my e34 both sides of footwell. It's Very annoying.
Hello, Yes , but yours is not there because at one point someone removed and didn't put it back
@@MOvidiu thanks. Another part to add to my list to find!
Know if the radiator and the cabinets filter is only there for AC and later year E34s? I am trying to find out if my E34s have any cabinfilter, so far from what I've found it seems that they might not have any, would like to know if have them to stop potential fires
Have you check realoem.com ?
@@MOvidiu Will check it, thanks
I have an 89 535i and that year doesn't have a cabin filter.
Can I access (and change) the heater core from the same place?
the connections for the heater core are on the left side and there is no access cover. The normal way is to remove the dash and the whole heater box. Then open the heater box by removing those metal clips. Is kinda much to work even with the heater box out of the car. Can't imagine a way to replace the heater core without removing it from the car.
My E34 smells like maple syrup when using the heater. Thoughts?
Try to use some AC cleaning foam inside the vent housing!
@@MOvidiu will do!
