Just released a Vehicle Virals shirt featuring the BMW from this video. I have less than 100 available! vehiclevirals.com/products/bmw-3-series-in-motion
I have a trans failsafe light comes on 1995 740i what can cause that when it's warm it's hard to shift automatic
What will u recommend for P0442 code ?
I'm definitely getting the jack pads as soon as I can get it out of limp mode😬
I wanted to buy 330 ci convertible 2006 90 k miles it will be cost me high replacement later and are you recommending i buy it thanks?
Harbor freight sells a compact hydraulic car jack. It's pretty small. It slides under your can and it is super low profile. Turn on the hydraulic pump and it easily lifts the car at least 4 ft. Cost between 5 or 600 and it's awesome
I bought a 2011 335IS two months ago and your video's have been great tools. I'm already FBO and looking to improve my fuel system next but these simple installs are exactly what I need to get my car up to spec. Thanks!
Always helpful, entertaining, but most of all encouraging and inspiring to do more DIY stuff on my BMW, thanks again and stay safe and well, to you and your family. Take care always.
NEVER use grease on rubber grommets or flange adaptors - use SILICONE SPRAY LUBE instead - it protects and revitalizes the rubber, keeping it supple and pliable, preventing it from drying out, cracking, or tearing. Just a little FYI for ya, brother. :) Good videos - you've earned a new subscriber! Cheers!
Has a plumber silicone grease is my best friend when repairing boilers etc around the orings etc 👍👍👍
what brand do you go with Brian?
Had to replace the DTML pump on my '04 M3 just this past year. Jack pads fall out regularly, every BMW I know is missing some. As for the Jack pad adaptor... aluminum???... just cut up a hockey puck. Works PERFECTLY!!
Brother this was an awesome video 📹. I had just gone to auto zone yesterday and the scanned the code and they had no idea what it was. So this helps me out a ton. Thank you! I also took your advice on the jack pads. Now on ecs though the pump is $89. Just for future. I can't believe I just stumbled onto this video. Keep coming with the videos.
Bro you deserve way more acknowledgment and subscribers much love
I actually have that DMTL issue and got the part a few months ago, but haven’t put it in :) Perfect timing.
Always remember at any time you are jacking up your vehicle with a jack or jack stand to chock block your wheels so the vehicle doesn't roll off the lift device you are using. Thanks for sharing this video Christian! It makes sense to maintain your vehicle's parts that are known to fail and the parts used to reduce damage lifting your vehicle in order to do maintenance. LOL at neighbor about a tire rotation. 😅 You are informative as always and we'll be wishing you the best brother! PEACE!
I did chuck the wheels btw 😏
The jack pad I have is exact same size & shape, but made of hard rubber, so has some flex in it. I think it works well.
Great video, very informative and good to watch. thank you for sharing with us.
Christian love these video you are so informative. BMW the ultimate driving machine as long as maintenance is carried out correctly stay safe Bro 🇬🇧
Ultimate driving machine but pass onto someone else when warranty runs out. Or till 5 years old at most.
The simple tings in life matters ESPECIALLY on a BMW Informative video man😎
Wish all cars had jack pads like that. Though I will say here in Vermont, salt and dirt would get inside the rockers, rot out those mounting spots, and eventually you wouldn't even be able to use those areas, hah. Good spot to pop out the pads and spray rust prevention inside the rockers though!
Yo…. Thank you SO much for this. I love my BMW 435i. But I despise the fact that it is so tough sometimes to figure out the most basic and routine maintenance to extend their performance and lifespan. Thanks again.
I have absolutely no experience with vehicles and i will not do what you're doing, but i am enjoying the video and all the tips you're giving. Nice!
10.40: this item is also called the fuel vapour detection pump. This must be what's causing my engine light, plus the fuel smell. Thanks for the excellent tip. Keep up the great work. 👍🏿
No you most likely have a leak. The DMTL is simply a vacuum pump that puts the system under vacuum so that the engine computer can monitor for decay and flag leaks. If you smell fuel, remove rear seat lower cushion. There will be a black fibrous noise insulator. Lift that, and you will find the access doors to the fuel filter module, and the fuel pump. Focus on the driver side one. The access door is secured by four 8mm screws. Undo those, lift that cover, and you will most likely find that the fuel filter module, is leaking fuel. It will be puddled with gasoline. To replace one, you must remove both sides, as the module has lines that connect to the fuel pump on the right side. VDO is the OEM supplier and they sell a kit which brings everything you need to replace it.
no, its definitely 100% a cracked fuel pump..thats made out of plastic...ask me how I know lol..
@@dfweurocars yep me too

im getting a E92 335i pretty soon and I stumbled upon this account and honestly im going to do maintenance by myself anf this channel really helps.. thanks man
No no no get an M3
Pretty cool, Dude!!! Thanks for all that awesome info which I had no idea. Keep them coming. I like to keep my car in pretty good shape! -Take care!!!
Thanks to your vids I passed on the 328i I was going to buy and bought a sweet loaded black on black '08 335i E93 like yours. I'll be watching more of your vids for wisdom. First up: fuel pump.
Good stuff! Check engine light just came up on my car last week!
You can make jack pad adapters out of hockey pucks for about $1 each. Being rubber, they also provide some cushioning.
Great DIY video bro!!!. You have shown me another way on how to save money on my own e90. Thanks.
I have started to watch your videos because you are teaching us novices how to do preventative maintenance before the "s***" hits the fan. Keep up the good work.I have a question for you. You are using a debugger (obd2) to scan for faults. What are you using and your thoughts please?
I have the same problem. Need to change mine too. Good content bro.
My DMTL pump failed several days after buying my E90 328i, unfortunately. At least it was a easy fix. And just 2 days ago, I messed up 1 of the jacking points. So this was uploaded at just the right time.
Jack Pads almost universally overlooked. Safety glasses too.
Great clip. Thanks for sharing this valuable info!
That pump , the turbo solenoids, and the lines were the first thing I purchased and replaced. Easy swap except the line going to the back turbo.
Thank you I need to do this on mine too
Excellent helpful video 👍🏻 thank you and God bless . All the best from Tigersbay North Belfast 🇬🇧🇮🇪
Nice job guy. Thanks for the links!
"plastic".. yo, I'm cracking up because I need to change those extra same parts. 🤦🏽♂️ Started throwing codes for the evap pump after changing the fuel pump and sending unit. Though my check engine light went off after I cleaned the gas cap. It's probably plotting the right moment to illuminate... Great vids as always. You're a real inspiration bro.. keep it up!
Had the evap pump fail on my Mini too. Same issue. Wasn’t hard or expensive to fix once I had the codes.
A bmw in my garage for 4 years and I have an adapter but I had no idea those pads were under the car. . . .Great video
These videos help with my e90 328i maintenance . Please post more videos ❤❤
Can’t wait to do this on my M4, great video bro! Thank you!
This is good to know mine are not missed up but good to know you can change them if needed.
Great work! Thanks for the help!!!
I have just bought some new jack points for my E87 I didn’t realise it was brute force to remove them, I have them sat in a box because I couldn’t figure an easy removal technique
OMG I just changed the DMTL pump a week ago. Super easy fix; I removed the carbon canister just like you did to get the T20 screws off, too. And I bought four new jack pads this week because I lost one to a speed bump. Great video.
Looks like you haven’t made any new videos in a while. Your videos are so much helpful!
Hey you finally got jack pads and a puck! I use 4 pucks with my ESCO jack stands.. you can get the pads and pucks alot cheaper off Amazon.
Say less😂😂 I just had to change my leek detection 2 weeks ago good thing it was still under warranty🙏🏽
Awesome video bro keep up the videos !
Thanks alot! Finally i got my thumb out and ordered new ones for my E90. Keep up the good work!!!
Thank you bro for sharing this video its very helpful
Thx a lot for been here for people What about bmw X3 2006 like 125000 miles issues thx again .
Your KZhead channel is absolutely wonderful I'm in my fifties and I just bought me a new E46 and I want to have that sound that you have on your exhaust system could you please tell me the specifics on what you have. Tks from NC
Nice video bro keep up the good work
Thanks for posting
Bro, what the hell is up with your finger😂 my guts hurt when I saw that 3:58
OBVIOUSLY he is an alien😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂.
Lmfao🤣🤣🤣for real
Looks like hypermobility 👀
😂😂😂
Yo that finger is able to scratch areas that aren't supposed to get scratched..
I'm sure you already know but check your jack stands to see if they have been recalled. There is a big recall on Harbor Freight jack stands. Not knocking HF, it's just a very big safety issue if they were to fail.
Excellent job with the video!
That sponge bob reference was executed perfectly bro 🤣
That MHD scanner work well for all around problem codes and making changes such as in a i3 bmw tuning? I have a 2008 335i and it’s been very good, meaning problem free, I did get a lack of top end power recently, then the next time out a engine light, mechanic says I got a misfired #5 cilinder, I am thinking maybe a coil is getting bad? The car has less then 50k miles, I have to get a good scanner to give me better information. Would you recommend that MHD scanner, and another? Mine is the E90. That veinous video looked like maybe the think I should look at, but did it come up on a scan for trouble before you removed and cleaned it? Thanks a lot in advance for responding. Much appreciated videos and a new follower. Btw, if it is the #5 coil or plug, how does someone know which cylinder is which?
I just bought a 2013 328i , I’m excited 😊
This is a must!
Nice vid bro
Hi! Could you please help me? I replaced all 5 light bulbs on rear right tailights and now they dont light up at all. I checked the wiring and one of the wires seems to have corrosion. Im trying to pull out to rewire but it seems its soldered on the other end. Do you have any idea or advice on how to fix it. I also replaced fuses if that helps
Hey Christian, great content as always! Hope you're staying well. With your HF floorjack, didn't you get a rubber piece for the lifting portion of your jack (the saddle)? Also, if you have zero options but to lift on the jack pads that are already mangled, you can use a small piece of wood (2x4) just high enough to get the other one off and the new one back on. You're referring to the Esco 3 point flat top jack stands (and they're super stable and expensive...$56 reach) Keep up the great work! Love the content! #projectweltspeed. #weltspeed
No unfortunately I didn't get anything else with the Harbor Freight jack stands. Appreciate the tips!
@@VehicleViralsdo the n51 have that pump in the rear
Thank for posting the video, love it. let me know if you live near Davie, I ll bring over e90 328i so you can feature it in your future KZhead DIY videos. And of course I'll help out too..
Just bought 2 jack pad adapters 4 days ago lol. I was struggling working out where the jacking point was so I Googled it. They were £11.99 each in the UK. I even forgot to take the adapter out and drove 6 miles. Couldn't believe it stay in when I got back to take my wheel off again to paint my break calipers.
Great video. Mine were about just as bad lol just a heads up the puck will fit right into the lips of those jack stands as well. Just grab a couple cheaper plastic pucks to use with your jack stands 😉🤑💯 at least it fits in mine lol
I’m changing my leak detection pump today. Lifetime warranty with FCP euro. Thanks for the video.
I’m on my 3rd BMW over 20 years. Never had an issue with leak detectors. The plastic water pumps however...EVERY SINGLE CAR around 100K miles.
Hey bro ! Good videos! Do u ou a faulty leak detection pump will cause alot clicking when im pumping gas in my 335i or could it be the vent valve! ?
THANKS ALOT 👍🏾
Great stuff you show us I got a 2013 xdrive 320 d which is stuttering when accelerating it’s really a headache I’m not sure where to start Do I need to get injectors cleaning? Pls advise
I unscrew the circle jack plate and put a cloth on it. Works like a charm for mine.
Hi, I have just subscribed to your channel. What scan tool and app are you using? Can they also work on the E83 models? Thank you.
Cool Video! Thanks for posting the code, DTML
im had the dmtl code too on my 2001 740IL, im also a viewer from Florida
Looks like you did alright after the "Real World" thanks for the informative video!
What diagnostics tool do you have?
The DIY alone on your DMTL will save you hundreds. Braman in Palm Beach quoted me $750+ for a $60 part and 20 minutes. Awesome video as always. 👍🏼
$60 each???
I have a 2011 320d MSport and after topping up with fuel one day I had a dip in power and the engine light came on. Happened a few times and after some digging found out about the petrol Cap. Cleaned it all up, bought an OBD2 reader, no codes, no more light. Bizarre, although I do suspect it will be back at some point!
Thanks for the info though 💯👍🏾
Awesome tutorial☝🏽👌👍👏🏿
nice job, good video, thanks!
Thanks dude useful video
Thank you for your great video.
Hey Christian great video as always! Would it be a bad idea if I bought 4 jack pads and got them to stick permanently somehow so I’ll always have a nice flat surface to use?? The key word is permanently, I’d never want them to fall off at 150mph smackin the car behind me 😂 But I know it can be done.
Could be a good idea if the adapter actually stayed in place for obvious reasons like you mentioned lol. It'll definitely take some witchery to make that happen 😂
New to your channel. Saw you modifying a black 335i in a previous vid. I presume this grey one is the same one? Great content btw
Yes, same car. Welcome to the channel!
Yeah. It’s all his same car. Just evolved. The grey is his wrap color. Concur with the great content. I’ve owned my E92 for about 7 months now. It’s been a great ride! Edit: thank you, Christian!
Hey man could you help me out I had auto zone read the trouble codes & The most likely solution was replace camshaft position sensor CMP. Suggested parts “Distributor” I’m super confused because idk To much about cars but I’ve been trying to get into fixing my 2007 328i 120k miles. I love your videos as well as Danny Z. I’m trying to get mine up to par with y’all’s lol
Great video 👍
Use a hockey puck when jacking up bmws. Especially if the Jack pad is broken or missing
Literally just replaced my leak detection pump on my e93 just this last weekend
Nice tip.Thanks
Hi, very helpful. I actually have a question on another mystery code that is showing up on my e91 (n51). The code read CDA7 and appears to be related to reverse gear status fault. The car goes to reverse gear perfectly and drives fine but the fault code always there. Would appreciate if you have any insight on this issue. Thanks
Very informative video. And wear safety glasses when under your car! LOL
Cool, bro, thanks.
Do many of these fixes also apply to the 325i? I'm looking to get one
I have a question ? Does an m sport rear bumper fit without any modifications I have a 08 convertible coupe want to switch rear bumper to m sport with a clean diffuser
hey ur video are the best were you from when is bimmer day
👍 simple but something I’ve not checked .
Perfect timing for this video just joined the e92 gang 5 days ago

I have an awesome e92 325d 400nm Diesel black luxury brown seats piano black inserts automatic luxury package 17rims , im totally fan of my car
Thank you for these
You're welcome :)
Most new BMW do not come with a spare tire or jack. My question is specific to the jack itself. Can you use any standard scissor jack type of jack? Or must you have a special one from BMW? Asking because your jack seems to fit neatly in the plastic rubber spot under the car. It would be a pain if that means you need to use only a BMW jack.
If you don’t have a jack pad adapter then you could also remove 2 wheels and then slide them underneath those side skirts. This will save your life if the jack fails or tips over. I get lazy sometimes so i just put the jack stands about a 1/4” below those plastic pads. I use one of those blue aluminum racing jacks from Harbor Freight. Those jacks don’t budge even after months lol. The jack stands then wouldnt damage those plastic things but at the same time would save my life if there happens to be an earthquake in Texas.
3:59 the hell is wrong with your finger bro? :D btw great video
He's double jointed...
