Love the look!!
Yep, FM transmitter is great sound quality just make sure you are on station that is unused. I ran that for 2 years before upgrading to Android auto pioneer double din.. used the beatsonic harness for plug and play and to keep the mark levinson audio system intact. Some speakers were blown but a refoam kit for 20 from ebay and its back to new including subwoofer!
I got the same truck and kept my wheels and put new 285 BFG’s a year ago and stance looks a lot better like yours. Lived in Michigan myself.
Mine came with 285/60/18 , now I am wondering what size to go .. I want to put A/T tires.
One of the first things i did was remove the running boards. I definitely dont regret it, although literally the day after i removed them i picked up my elderly parents and grandparents and they did have a bit of a challenge getting into it. Great vids though man, i just subbed. Hope you break 1k before the end of the day.
Really appreciate the love!
Does the AHC at least work for the parents? 😂
@@MJAltairy Well it's bitter sweet because the AHC was deleted by the previous owner, though it certainly would have helped. That was the only "issue" with it when I got it. The replacement suspension is fine, but I'm planning on upgrading torsion bars and maybe adding a small lift at some point anyways. Apparently the torsion bars were slightly weaker on the LX as opposed to the LC due to the ahc compensating for it. If you don't plan on consistently being in the middle of nowhere, I'd rock the ahc until it gives though, it's quite convenient. Even if it does "blow up" It still shouldn't leave you stranded, it'll just be a rough ride back to the shop lol.
That's awesome but I wish they made retractable steps for these would make it easier for many ppl @@esfwr17
I upgraded my 2002 LX470 a few month’s ago to 35 inch Falken MT 315/70/17 (before BFG AT’s same size). Main reason was ruggedness and puncture resistance. These tyres are definitely tough and good looking. The downside is higher fuel consumption (20% higher), road noise (worse than I expected) and weight. These tyres are much heavier (18lb PER WHEEL) than my previous setup. Don’t underestimate the extra strain on the drive train. In my next tyre swap will a downgrade to smaller AT’s (33 inch / 255’s) as for me, these 35 inch tyres are too much.
Yea that’s exactly why I didn’t want to go with a tire that large, these SUV’s are already slow as is haha.
You should put a lx470 spoiler on and also there's some spare tire holders that hook up to the tow hitch so u don't have to do any bumper modifications
The spare tire holder is definitely on my want list! I need to also find a good upper tailgate because this one has seen netter days.
Great Video. The trck looks great with new tires. just subscribed, The link for the bluetooth transmitter isnt working. keepthe videos coming
Thank you! I’ll have to get that link fixed!
Bro I'm getting tires for stock 16 chrome on my 00 lx. Aye is yours Rh drive sick
No it’s a LH driver. Tires will def change up the look!
So a quick recap. When upgrading to the 285/75 R16 you did not have any issues. No rubbing when going lock to lock?
It rubs very slightly but it’s a very light rubbing of the rear side of the fender liner when making slight turns. A heat gun and pushing it back would probably fix it easily!
@@MJAltairy cool. Thanks for the reply. Just bought a 2000 LX470 and deciding about tire size. Good info to know.
@@jeremiahmcconnell1360 definitely! Yeah anything larger and i think you’ll have to start cutting off parts and looking for a lift
How about when it's on its low position? No rubbing? Also how bad are these ahc systems? I bought mine yesterday an 02. With 120,000 the guy did the shocks like 20,000 miles ago. Fluid looks clean, no noise. It's at 120,000 now. Btw loves this community , I subscribe
Did the bigger wheels effect highway driving on the Lexus? Looks good!
Yes it kinda “bogged” it down a little but not too badly. It did however make it feel more “grounded.”
@@MJAltairy Gotcha. Appreciate it
THANK YOU for calling it what it IS-- a truck!!!! I just want to sissy slap the fools on here that call them "cars"... which is stupid.. GREAT video.
Thank you!
My one is a rocket
Where did you get that gold Lexus front license plate?
