Toyota Land Cruiser LX470 100 series & Method Race Wheels 703!
We finally got some aftermarket wheels for our 1999 100 series Toyota Land Cruiser! The Method 703 in Bronze look amazing on a Land-cruiser. Let me be upfront with y’all. Finding wheels for a Land Cruiser or LX470 is harder than any other car I’ve owned to date.
You wouldn’t thinks so, it’s not like the Land Cruiser is a rare super car. However, with Land Cruiser sales so low in the United States many wheel companies don’t seem to be interested in producing after market options for this vehicle.
Now I understand why so many Land Cruisers are still on OEM wheels. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the vid! First time making any mods to my lx or any car for that matter.
Thanks for sharing! Great video! I have an '04 LC and am at that point where I want to upgrade my wheels!
Good luck, it can be a headache but it is totally worth the trouble.
Big improvement! Matching cars is such a flex
I hope that is a good thing! Thank you!
Looks fantastic! Great choice in wheels and tires.
Thank you, these wheels are great! I highly recommend them. So far I love this set up probably more than our GX470!. Thank you for watching commenting and subscribing!
Looks amazing!
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Looks nice Congrats.
Thank you so much! 💯
Digging the new wheels, bronze looks awesome!
Thanks glad you like them! We are very happy with these wheels! Randomly saw Sig the other day lol.
Those wheels in that bronze color look fantastic on your hundred series. Very nice work!
Thank you so much, we love these wheels!
@@KRTLyfe That bronze color is just perfect!
Thanks for adding the spec on the wheels.
No problem 👍
Such a clean look
Thank you!
Soooooo clean!
Appreciate it!
would it be possible do you think for the center caps for the methods to fit in the OEM wheels, and visa versa? Great video, thanks.
Nice choice!👍 I went with 20" Method 305 NV bronze on my 01 LX470.
Good choice!
I’d love to see what it looks like. Do you have pictures of it?
I love the wheels on there, looks tough.
Thank you, so far we love these wheels.
I have a 100 series that needs some new shoes. Thanks for doing the research for me 😆😆
No problem, thanks for watching commenting and subscribing!
will miss the GX content but the LC is looking great!
You and me both! We have a few friends with GX still so we will definitely keep some content going with them.
Bronze on Black for the win! 👍
Thank you! I LOVE these wheels and the ride is awesome, price point was good. Can’t wait to try them on the trails!
They look amazing!! 💯💯No link for the wheels??
Nice rig, I love yalls videos. How many miles you got on your new yota?
391k mile and rolling!!!!
thanks for the offset info!!
No problem, everyone says that zero offset won’t fit. As long as you aren’t running huge tires it works. We haven’t had any running issues fully loaded and off road.
Which size u mean while u say huge tires ?
Nice choice! I have a gx460 and am deciding between getting the 18inch Lexus f sport wheels or some of the brands you showed. Appreciate the insight!
Stick to 17" for the GX. I'm running 17x9 285/70/17 on mine. You could go less aggressive with a smaller tire around 265.
Thank you, The GX has more options than the Land-cruiser. We had the OEM TRD wheels on our GX470 wrapped in 265 70 17. It was a great set up on road off road etc. No issues
Sweet shoes!
Thanks!
Looks good! I like the bronze... having trouble deciding between bronze and grey for my black 4Runner. 🤦🏻♂️
Bronze on Black for the win! Grey looks dull. You'll be wishing you went bronze.
Depends on the look you are going for I guess. I love the bronze personally lol.
Nice! Love the ride. Your AHC still work?
We went out of our way to get two LCs that didn’t come with AHC.
@@KRTLyfe I see! I just picked up my 100 series about a month ago and the AHC happens to work flawlessly. I plan to use and maintain it. Will the same wheel setup work or did you add a lift to your LC? Thanks again!
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I believe it should work, I can’t think of any reason why it wouldn’t. Both of my cruisers are stock minus the wheels. I don’t have any issues with this combination. On my other one however, I get a slight rub on the inner wheel well plastic. That is a different when tire combo even tho all the specs are the same.
Great Video - I'm planning on getting those wheels also. I'm debating if the bronze with looks good on a pearl white paint. Also Method offers the extended center wheels cap. Will those caps fit in these wheels? Thanks!
I would contact method for the most accurate information. When I purchased these the website stated that the front center caps would not fit. IDK if they have an alternative now so I would reach out to Method.
Hello I bought these wheels and i wana take 285/70/17 bfg how u think how it will look like ? And i will lift my lc 1.5 inch
There is so much more tire options for the 265/70r17 size. I ended up getting the Fuel Warp wheels for cheap only to learn that it didn’t fit the front axle cap because Fuel designed a smaller internal diameter lip for the center cap. Had to bore out the lip to make the wheels fit. Those KO2s look really good on your 100. How do you like the tires after a year?
I like them, over the years I have had good results with BFG. However the options are so good in 2022 I will not stick with BFG on my next tire selection. I plan to go with the Kenda Klever RT.
They look so mean on the LX !
Thank you so much they perform as good as they look! We are very happy with them. Thank you for watching commenting and subscribing!
just looked up the same wheels for my 02 100 series, method website says they don’t fit
Do you know if the same wheel with +35/6.2" offset would have been more flush with the body which would allow for more space for articulation?
I’m not 100 percent sure. I would contact Method and ask their recommendation depending on the tire size you plan on running. I don’t get any rub what so ever on or off road… but I guess that also depends on how hard you plan on wheeling. Good luck!
AHHHHHHH we can't get these wheels in the UK without importing them from the USA and having to pay a ton of money in shipping, duty, VAT and handling charges. Say one wheel costs $150, probably another $90 per wheel in charges. Love these wheels. The australian guy @firetofork has them on his Prado.
Dang sorry to hear that, I’m certain there must be something comparable available in the UK. You know the other thing is wheels made for the US don’t have to pass the same tests wheels made for the UK need to pass. So I’ve heard. I haven’t owned a vehicle in the UK but I think that is one of the things the MOT looks for.
hey, I have an 02 Landcruiser and was considering getting the method wheels as well (17 inches) and was wondering if I were to put 285's, if they would rub on stock suspension? I like the look of the 265's but curious.
I think you can run 285s as long as you get the right offset. I want to say the offset they recommend is et35. I ordered zero by mistake which is why mine poke out so much ( all tho I love It). ET35 should get you pretty flush with enough room for the tires to tuck into the fender. From all that I read but please do your own research before ordering. Ih8mud is a good place to start
@@KRTLyfe What was wrong with the Level 8 wheels you got from the guy in Birmingham? Do you still have them?
@@anthonycbrown2 they didn’t clear the front hub. No, I sold them a long time ago. Think it was around this time last year.
Niiice bronze , I have a 100 series and I bought the same wheels from method 703 and I have a problem with the hub. Did you use spacers when you installed your wheels?
No, I did not use any spacers. Mine fit perfect out the box no additional kit needed.
Al Ghamdi. I am in ME and my dealer is saying that these 703 needs spacers. Did you ever get the 703 rims installed? With or without spacers?
@@KRTLyfe okay, please can you get me the prefect size if the wheel and tire exactly the same you did. Thank you.
@@MSabri786 yes, i bout spacers for lc100 for 1.25” but it was to much wide. That’s i removed it. Now i’m searching to put method 703 with saftey.
Really wished method did their bronze a little bit darker, like some other wheel companies. (Depending on the lighting they look gold) Edit: NICE RIG BTW! 💪
Thank you so much! Appreciate the positive vibes! They are actually pretty dark in real life, but it is subjective to the lighting for sure in photos. Thanks for watching, commenting and Subscribing! 💯
@@KRTLyfe when you mentioned they actually look darker in real life, you’re making me pull the trigger on these, for my 4runner 😭😂
If you check out our IG@KRTLYFE there are some pictures of the wheels on our wall . We also just uploaded another vlog 100 series Landcruiser AC recharge and you can see more video of the wheels. kzhead.info/sun/grqRpc1wbpSIbJE/bejne.html
@@KRTLyfe thanks brother! You’ve earned a sub!
@@RCGJR_ thank you we really appreciate it!
Would have been so much better with more footage of wheels on the car and while driving. Would love to watch b-roll of the setup rather than just watch you talking. Would have made this video awesome.
Do you install leveling kit?
Nope, this is the stock suspension system.
🤙🏾
Thanks! 🔥🔥🔥💯
What was wrong with the Level 8 wheels you have?
They did not clear the front hub. I tried spacers but it pushed the wheel too far out.
How annoying the front caps dont fit, do you think you could retro fit them? all that money for wheels and you have to leave the hub cap exposed
Probably not. I preferred this design over the other models I looked at. It doesn’t bother me that the caps don’t fit. I still love these wheels.
@@KRTLyfe do you think a longer center cap will work? Method list one to suit the 703. I swear I’ve made this comment and linked but it doesn’t show. Just keen to know before I buy a set
Which do you guys like better land cruiser or the Gx???
Man its really hard to say, we are going to make a vlog about it soon.
@@KRTLyfe it would help me make my decision I’m stuck between the too leaning towards the GX.
Could you post link for wheels?
I think I did in the description.
What did u do with the trd wheels?
Sold them.
Damn!!! I'm actually looking for a set right now 😁
Volks on a land cruiser would be perfect but I’d be scared to scratch them off-roading
I agree those Volks are beautiful! 💯 Thanks for commenting and subscribing!
I don’t own an LC yet but looking now. Hard to find anything good in vegas
@@jrladislao Yeah you have to be patient in this market inventory is low and prices are a little inflated, but with time you should find something.
@@KRTLyfe what you think about a 2000 lx470 timing belt and water pump done. 238k miles for $10k
@@jrladislao that sounds about fair, we spent around the same for our 2005 LC.
