Free climbing is absolutely nuts. My hat's off to the guys and gals who do it, and good luck to you. It gives me anxiety just watching it. I'm not afraid of heights either (I've been skydiving and had a lot of fun doing it considering it was my first time in an airplane) it's just the endurance required for free climbing is insane. There is not quitting half way. What if you get a cramp! Or what if you get sleepy and fancy a nap?
What you mean is "solo free climbing". "Free climbing" is always with a buddy who belays you. It's not dangerous at all actually, definitely safer than sky diving anyways.
this is NOT Freeclimbing! It's called Free-Solo. Free Solo: climbing without a rope, harness and safety gear. Freeclimbing: To climb something free means, that you are secured with a harness, rope and gear. But you arent't allowed to fall during the route. When you are at the top and didn't fall, you've done this route free. *fliesaway*

Good note on free-soloing. However, with free climbing, they put it in contrast to aid climbing so the difference is whether or not you are making upwards progress only with your hands and feet or by pulling on gear. Free climbing is still free climbing even if you fall.
As Nic said, free climbing is actually a more generic term for not using gear to progress, but only for safety or no gear at all. Basically, solo climbing is indeed free climbing. But nice try on your attempt at being an elitist prick, Bulli.

MotoAtheist No Free climbing means you are allowed to wear equipment to keep you from falling but not equipment that will help you climb up. Solo climbing is a whole different world my son.

Personally, I think that this video is espectacular because share for us some extreme sports that a bit of people are praticing around the world, and how extremly situations can make us to encourage and afront our fears in general. So this kind of experiencies are really exciting and all the people that practice some type of extreme sport learn something special that make to improve with the time. In a nutshell, the extreme sports are highly complicate than normal sports and thats why the expiriencies are so important in thys type of sports, so i strongly recommend this unforgettable experiencie.
Cave diving is the most extreme of all, (second to wing suit)
Bro even wingsuit guys have safety features like parachute but in extreme cave diving if u struck in the middle u can’t go further or go back so it will be a horrible slow dead

Does it count if it’s not an “official” sport? Riding track bikes through city traffic with no brakes is pretty extreme, but very fun and satisfying. Not to mention other biking disciplines that were completely missing (downhill mountain biking, bmx, etc)
Is it a sport if u endager others? I also ride a bike but speeding through traffic (jams) is no sport, its just dumb.

I’m a qualified wing suit pilot and I can tell you base jumping is way more fun and exillerating and dangerous than wingsuiting out of a plane or chopper.

The absolute King of #2 on this list - Free Soloing or Free-climbing is Alex Honnold Who here knows of Alex Honnold?? He Climbed El Capitan in like 2 hours without the rope.

"Are you an aid climber or a free climber?" I'm a little of both, but just as a hobby and not as a passion. I like to free climb a bit up in the mountains, but I also enjoy climbing rock walls.
Since I got more into skydiving, I guess it won't kill me to try out wingsuiting someday.

Pulling an all-nighter doing your 20-30 page term paper during exam week is an extreme sport. Never tried such a stunt but i have seen many do it.

Skateboarding is #1 for me. Danny Way aired over the Great Wall of china, on a broken foot. Jaws Melon-grabbed over 25 stairs which was almost 2 stories high straight to the ground and lived to tell the tale. Shout out to the Van Dyck Skate Crew. Skate and destroy

Have you guys ever seen speedball?!?!?! I highly recommend putting this extreme sport in another video. Speedball is a faster, more technical, and a lot more adrenaline pumping version of paintball. If you have not seen speedball, look up professional paintball. This sport definitely fits in well with the other sports you have mentioned in this video.
You're compleatly mistaken with the climbing terms. Freeclimbling means climbing without using anything but the rock to hold/stand on. But you can use a rope and so called quickdraws to prevent a fall to the ground. What you showed is Free Soloing, where you climb without any protection. And the same story with the Highlines. You can (and you actually showed some footage) use a rope to protect you from falling to death although a few (actually realy realy few) Highliners do it without the rope.
