The Ilgar bit hard me grinning so much and in happy tears. There's so much in being able to feel simple joy like that.
A much better ending than 50 clowns on unicycles, that's for sure, and a much more heartwarming waste of HBO's money. I have to say, however, that they could make stock photography a main story in the sense that the photographers generally make a lot less money than the companies for whom they are essentially freelancing. . .

Actually, I'm the photographer (Elnur Amikishiyev) in whose portfolio Ilgar is being featured. This has been a fantastic story for Ilgar - from posing for stock photos, and eventually ending up in Americas popular evening show.
I cried a single tear of joy whenever he was revealed in the end XD

Its amazing how in only 10 minutes of the episode John Oliver was able to establish Ilgar as the rightful legend that he is and having this beautiful happy ending was such a satisfying an emotional pay off that most movies Ive seen in my life could not achieve on such a high level in over one and a half hours of runtime...well done!

after such an important but seriously depressing main story for the staff to work on the Ilgar bit was well deserved bit of light entertainment not only for those watching but i am sure the staff as well, sure stressfull getting the visa but it must have been nice to work on something they knew they could actually complete.

You know a 5.1 is still powerful, right? Not all earthquakes have to be at 9.0 or higher to be either damaging or dangerous.

We need it Ilgar after the main topic. It's so balanced that, for a brief moment, I enjoyed not having the same death penalty issue in my country. But I remembered that we have so much more problems that made me need to see that Ilgar photoshoot again.

The ending is so wholesome! Just what we needed after the topic of death sentences. I shed a tear. Not at the horrible deaths, but a the poorly English talking man standing and getting a minute of fame. Azerbaijan is quite a troubled country, I am sure this move was an unbelievable highlight for him.
I feel some type of way about the death sentence. That being said I have not been so invested in something for 10 minutes like this in a long time. Ilgar, the legend.
