It was just awesome to see the surprise on their faces and the Joy it brought them. Especially since at the same time I had one of my brothers, in the Navy, on an aircraft carrier, in the Persian Gulf.

Eternity will not be about any of us or what we have done. It will all be about Jesus Christ who died on a cross to save us from our sins. We all deserve hell and then the Lake of Fire that burns with sulphur and fire on Judgement day.

      @xodiejsjaokz@xodiejsjaokz4 жыл бұрын
    • Reynah dude, i was 12 and was/am very aware of the sacrifice he was making, nut i was making one of my own. I was growing up with my dad coming in and out at the drop of a hat. I was desensitized to him just showing up back at home. I was CERY happy to see him, but had the practical understanding that hed be home later that day, and that id be getting ice cream with him after school-so i could cry then. Im also aware that my dad missed the first three years of my life, except for the three Christmases those years. My dad was high rank, so during homecomings or see-offs i was unable to break down and scream and cry bc it looked bad and broke protocol. That being said,at 3.5 when he got home from the three year deployment, i slept in my parents bed bc i refused to let him go bc ‘i wasn’t done crying and lecturing about him being gone so long.’ I am a Military Brat. I understand, and personally know EXACTLY what the sacrifice is and no one gets to tell I’m horrible for having a calm reaction because I’d gotten used to him coming and going frequently in 2010

      @acowens6@acowens64 жыл бұрын
    • Ac Owens, it's not about you having a calm reaction or you're used to it or not. The comment you made before is referring to that when he tried to surprise you, you wanted to read the book instead. I'm not telling you to get all emotional and things but it's the matter of fact that you didn't even try to do anything and instead go for a book. Even if you're used to it he could have died anytime he went, so each time he came back you still should be giving him some word of gratitude at the point you see him when he came back because others may not make it through.

  • This reminds me when I came home in October 2004 for mid-tour leave while deployed to Iraq. I didn't tell anybody I was coming home. My mother is a hairdresser. She happened to be doing my grandmother's hair at the same time. I was able to surprise both of them at her work. That was really a special day
