Wagner mercenaries say they control key Russian city as convoy heads towards Moscow - BBC News

2023 ж. 23 Мау.
3 174 236 Рет қаралды

Wagner mercenaries have taken control of a Russian city key to their war effort in Ukraine, with a convoy of their troops reportedly on route to Moscow.
Rostov-on-Don, near the Ukraine border, is seemingly under Wagner control, after their leader Yevgeny Prigozhin called for a rebellion against the army. Key military facilities in the city of Voronezh - which is halfway between Rostov and Moscow, are also said to be controlled by Wagner forces.
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier described their actions as 'a knife in the back of our people', and residents of the Russian capital have been told to stay at home at this time.

What he doesn't seem to realize is even if he still supports Putin, the fact he mounted a powerful military force that can challenge him means Putin cannot allow him to have a place of power. • Dear god, imagine at the first 24 hours of the war and the world stopped to look at the weak Ukrainians fighting off what was believed at the time a great power. 24 hours into this new war the world now has stopped and looked upon the weak Russians fighting their own conscripts and mercenaries in a desperate dash to save-guard their very state. None of either of these events could have been predicted 2 years ago and now Russian history unwinds in internal fighting not seen since 1917.

    • I wonder what the supporters of psychopathic Putin in the West feel now, particularly those who peddled lies that Russia wanted to de-nazify Ukraine.
