Horrifying Moment! How Ukrainian Bradley Destroys Russian front-line Defenses

Russian soldiers packed into Moscow's tanks and infantry fighting vehicles (IVFs) are "afraid" to launch operations "when they know that a Bradley will be against them," said Kach, a Ukrainian commander of the country's 47th Mechanized Brigade who goes by his call sign, as is common among Ukrainian fighters.
Kach is adamant-the U.S.-supplied Bradleys save Ukrainian lives along the hottest parts of the front line against Russian troops and armoured vehicles.

    • You're not wrong. The BMP looks scary, its' cannon has a very high rate of fire, impressive on paper. It can fit more troops. But in real life? The BMP actually offers almost zero protection. It can barely withstand infantry firearms, anything with more firepower like bigger shrapnel, autocannons, or anti-tank weapons just cut through it. But what's even worse, is that BMP's store fuel and ammo in a way that just makes them giant bombs on tracks. And even worse for the BMP crews, the thing has zero spall liners or protection post penetration. What this means is that good vehicles have designs to limit the damage of ordnance that does penetrate the armor. Which is why it is rare to have fatalities when Bradleys get hit. The spall and fragmentation of the penetrating ordnance is limited to only a small projectile passing through the vehicle. Ammo and fuel are sealed in a way to prevent catastrophic explosions. BMP has none of that, so when anything hits it, there is a 90 degree cone of destruction inside, and if that cone hits any ammo or fuel the whole vehicle goes boom. Moving to the BMP cannon, it is one of the most inaccurate pieces of shit I have seen. Any footage of the BMP autocannon at work, shows that even at relatively close ranges, it just showers a 50 meter radius. It's just not capable of hitting even the wide side of a tank at 100 meters, with more than 10% accuracy. But it looks scary on paper.

Not that I think that Ukraine will ever be defeated by the orcs, but if you look at all the shiny new tech that its western allies have sent to them this past 2 years, every piece of kit that gets captured, you can bet your bottom dollar on it that the kremlim will get their grubby mitts on it and start the process of attempting to reverse engineer everything. They'll do this because almost every piece of kit that the orcs have been on the receiving end of is leagues above the crap that the orcs get issued with. This includes body armour, helmets, field dressings, ammo, optics, anti tank weapons, thermal imaging, gun/barrel stabilizers and everything else.

Germany armor generally had the best guns, armor, power plants and optics. However they were unable to source enough parts, capacity and materials to bring those superior weapons to bear. Meanwhile, America settled on pretty good vehicles with pretty good optics, guns and armor that they could produce easily and repair quickly. And russia made the fastest to produce POS they could drown the enemy in. And germany couldnt keep up with either. Thats always worried me aout the modern US military. • So the Bradley with it's one gun is able to switch between high explosive and armour piercing ammunition while the Terminator with it's 2 guns has trouble switching between different guns and ammunition types, I'm confused! The Bradley is an Infantry Fighting Vehicle, it's not a tank, it's lighter and faster than a tank while the Terminator is built on an existing tank chassis and handles like a tank. The Bradleys are being placed in harm's way and getting hurt but an awful lot of Russian tanks (including Terminators), and APCs are getting destroyed. I think I'd rather be in a Bradley! The Bradley has been accused of just being a Jeep, but when the British Long Range Desert Transport Group got Jeeps and carried the SAS the result was legendary!

Which it did all three better than any other vehicle combined in the American inventory. Its firepower isn’t quite the same as an Abrams, but the firepower was devastating and it could drive over road blocks like they weren’t there. It’s armor was only surpassed by an Abrams but it could caring 6-7 dismounts comfortably or cargo. So much versatility, but expensive and complex with heavy maintained requirements.

Even a Challenger 2 the toughest tank in the world was destroyed by artillery after hitting a mine. • The Bradley IFV went through what could charitably be called "development hell" as the planning and design boards were steered back-and-forth in different directions for well over a decade. Critics refer to it as a compromise. And, it is. But that's not automatically a bad thing. Certainly, the Bradley has performed admirably over the decades. Upgrades to it's weapons and electronics have kept it relevant on the battlefield to the present. Several other countries, impressed with the Bradley's performance history, have purchased the IFV for their own forces. Small wonder that the Ukrainian army likes them and that the Russian army has come to despise them so much.

We are seeing in real time how badly Russian made military products are. The difference is that Russia doesn't have the funds to repair their shit that breaks. It's one thing to have a product that can just participate in a parade or two in an effort to make a good impression. It's another thing entirely to have a product that can withstand decades of near constant military usage, either through actual combat or during training exercises. Why do you think Russian military exercises are mainly propaganda designed to trick foreign powers that their military is capable? Because Russian equipment is shoddy and barely functions even during the best of times.

They bled so much because they were stupid. What the video said about the Ukrainians initially losing some Bradleys but learning to use them better makes sense. • This may be true, but unlike every other missile system in use there is no stopping it once its been fired. There's no signal one can jam and no internal radar that can be fooled by chaff. I feel like an awkward reload is an acceptable trade-off for a missile that is immune to outside interference.

The money spent has helped destroy russias army and any future plans for a long time. Better money spent than a full world war and a possible nucleur exchange. I for one think it was the best move and saved ukraine. Just my opinion and just putting out a different perspective or way of thinking off it.
