  • intp dude was too relatable for me. trying to liven the mood when everyone else is quiet and too shy, but when someone actually extraverted comes around to take over it's like, you crash and burn in mental exhaustion, like pure relief but you're also DONE with it all lol. dude i get it lmao edit: some non-intps think it’s jealousy but i disagree. the second episode goes further into the intp entj relationship; they’re pretty weird together and distant at first, it’s easy to interpret this simply as hate as an outsider. i can attest to the dynamics which the intp and entj hold, it’s VERY cute, give them a chance to connect more and be honest lol

    • Im also intp and i used to think extroverts forcing a conversation is annoying, then later realized i do that too. i always try to talk to occupy silence cause for some reason i feel responsible for the awkward silence, so i feel like i had to talk and try to lighten up the atmosphere. Like you said im also thankful when there's an extrovert cause they talk a lot so i can relax. Some extroverts are so loud and so lively like that ENTJ guy i would really feel exhausted if im in the same room as him, especially small room. Extroverts like him drains my energy quickly. Im not disliking the guy i just dont think we get along by personality. I'm like a phone battery. I can only be used for a couple of hours. and he's like a game on a phone, when opened, it drains me faster.

    • As an INTP, we act extroverted because it's the most logical reason thing to do to us at the moment to try to break the ice if it's awkward or uncomfortable silent. We become extroverted because we feel responsible to do it rather than we do it because we want to.

      @ladyraindroplet@ladyraindroplet10 ай бұрын
    • @@ladyraindroplet Fellow INTP here. That's true, an uncomfortable silence is undesirable and the simple and best solution is to break it, which we'll be glad to provide even at the cost of having to focus on the outside world/other people. Actually though we INTPs do enjoy interesting conversations and interactions (such as games), and breaking the ice gives the added bonus of setting the tone of the exchange. It's more small talk and such purely social interactions that we avoid, but not talking/interacting in general. I mean, at least not until we need time on our own like any other I. I imagine ISTP are similar in a more organic, less cerebral way if that makes sense.

  • It’s nice to see fellow INTPs in the comments section speaking up for the INTP rep In my own experience, INTPs can spend days alone with no social interaction, or be the life of the party, depending on specific circumstances. Like many shared, we feel a sense of responsibility to break the ice when others may feel too burdened to, and that can be mistaken for extraversion. However, INTPs typically feel drained from small talk that do not interest us at all. (we can spend hours on our favourite topica tho) The board games were part of his plan to kill two birds with one stone, and the carrots were his tap out card lol. Even for an INTP, I found him to be a thoughtful and kind person as the carrot plan was a way to tap out without worsening the mood within the group (especially since he thought it was going to be a mixed group). When the extrovert rep came over he just tapped out since the spotlight wasn’t on him anymore and he didn’t need to hard carry lol. Like the moment exhaustion hit him the E rep just seemed too loud probably😅

    • Holy crap, this is insane. I've only taken the quiz twice. First time I got INFP, and just now after taking it a 2nd time, I got INTP. What you just said is exactly how I relate. I can spend as much time as I want alone with no social interaction, but if I do end up in social situations/going to a party, I usually hang out with my "usual" friends or stay alone, but if I see other people having fun, dancing, etc. then I try to join, and then before I know it, I'm the one doing fun crazy dances and being the center of attention. This MBTI stuff is scarily accurate to a lot of real life stuff. But at the same time, we're all human beings, and we can change our views, beliefs, and and just overall personalities/vibes all throughout our lives willingly or unwillingly depending on if we do or don't want to and depending on certain circumstances. However, for most people, I'm sure they have certain beliefs/MBTI traits that never chance about themselves all the way from birth until death. It's all very super fascinating stuff

  • As an INFJ, I couldn't take it when it's too awkward especially when I'm alone with someone else. If they won't talk, I'd would do my best to converse with them even if it's just a bit of small talk. (Just like what the INFJ guy did at 17:40, basically trying to initiate small talk with the ISFP girl) INFJ's are naturally people-oriented so we do our best even in the smallest ways to keep the tension in the air away as we also try to make people more comfortable hehe. (+ We're actually very good in leading conversations and some or most of the time are more extroverted than introverted or even have random bursts of energy instead, but due to the fact that our social batteries run out pretty fast, we tend to be quiet and become observant and listen to people..😴)

With the E room having warmer pallet, and larger potted plants, creating a more cozy atmosphere. While the I room has a cooler pallet and in a lot of frames have much less lighting, which for me just amplified the awkwardness. Maybe it's due to the different shooting days or camera angle but I just wanted to point out how the rooms itself kind of also contributes to the atmosphere :D

    • yeah i agree i need social interaction too and definetly become the leader if everyone around me is quieter/ i feel more comfortable with them and i dont think im sensitive in the same way this infp is... tbh im shocked at how many relate with her i thought a lot would say they don't feel like the representation was accurate for the same reason you said... super interesting to me though... the people who commented/liked ur comment must all be closer on the cusp to extroversion than most infps... maybe...

    • @@Asaspecimenyesimextraoddinary I'm an introverted and I'm not shy either, which confuses many people at first. I agree with you that it's annoying how most people lump being shy and introverted together, but we have to keep in mind that we are a minority. Usually, most introverted people are shy so I can understand why it's always seen that way!

  • As an American who has never really given much thought to MBTI types or know enough about them to really understand how these people embody their MBTIs, this was still really interesting!! I’ve taken the test out of boredom before (INFP apparently) and while I did relate to the INFP here, I also related a lot to many other people at various points. I do wonder how much of this could be attributed to the Barnum effect, though. I wonder what would have happened if they’d gotten people who are unaware of the test or their results significance, had them take the test, and put them all together without knowing what their MBTI type means. With a control group of some kind, this could have been a pretty cool experiment! It felt like since everyone knew what personality they were there representing, they may have (even subconsciously) played up parts of their own personality for the video’s sake. Though, I could be wrong and it may have just been the nervousness of being on camera. Regardless of if you believe in personality types or not, it’s always good when people can find joy and a sense of identity in something. Great video!
