Food for thought - I know he's American, but I know and have heard of many immigrants who earned advanced degrees in their native country, but work manual labor jobs here in America. The certifications don't transfer over, and the cost of recertifying is prohibitive. So, you never know.

Because of my parents’ professions I’ve gotten to be around a lot of medical doctors. There’s a ton of hilarious medical professionals, it’s just usually very dark or offensive humor. My mom says it makes the job easier.

Ken graduated from HS at 16 and then attended Duke. He's super smart. He was a doctor of internal medicine during the day while doing comedy stand ups by night. He would've been rich just being a doctor along with his wife. But his comedy, movies, and masked singer judge takes his earnings to the elite level. It's great that Ken is speaking up for Asian American community.

Dr. Ken Jeong is a very talented man. He's a doctor, comedian & an actor. I love his work. He's a very intelligent man and he's telling the truth. I'm glad to see him speaking out on this. He still holds an active medical license, so he has to continue his CME's and pass other state requirements every two years to stay actively licensed. You can look up his license on the Medical Board of California's website (licensee number A65869). He no longer practices, of course, but he is still a doctor with up-to-date credentials and able to practice if he wishes.

I have seen people's turn come up at clinics and the doctor provided to them is African so they say skip me I'll wait for someone else or tell me to go ahead and take their taxi because they see someone is Sikh and won't be in a car with them. Racist idiots will go so far as to refuse desperately needed medical care from someone who is Asian, black, Muslim, Jewish... And I don't know what to say about it. When covid first hit, I went to our local Costco. Looking down the beer isle, most beer brands were wiped out. All but Corona beer. In time, Corona beer got bought up. But there for awhile, folks were associating the corona virus with the beer. Idiocy at its finast!

In February 2020, Corona announced that they'd had their worst financial quarter since 2010, due to lack of sales in December and January (start of Covid) As lockdown loomed in March, sales of all beers went up as people stockpiled, including Corona. Since then, over the last 12 months as a whole, sales are up.

A stranger asked me mockingly, “DOoooo. YOOoooou KNOOoooow HOOooow TOoooo SPEeeeeeeak ENGLIiiiiish?” I ignored him and went on my way. Guess he thought I didn’t hear him or didn’t understand him. He then preceded to yell in my face, “GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY!” I stopped and looked dead straight in his eyes... and said, “BUY ME A MOTHER F#&KING PLANE TICKET.” That shut him up. I didn’t think my comeback would have any impact nor had I envisioned such an outcome. I was fed up and it was purely instinctual. Worst case, he could have attacked me. But luckily, he seemed shocked by it. He walked away while mumbling something like Whatevers.....you aren’t worth it. Thank God. I'm a petite woman. The result could have been devastating. I’ve experienced racism in supermarkets, stores, at work, from customers, strangers, and at doctors' offices. One thing racists do is not discriminate against is where they display their closed-mindedness and hatred. It hurts, it makes me sad, scares me, and it angers me. This is the first time I’m writing about it and will keep doing so. I’d like to believe their behavior is because they have been wrongly informed. Because people are scared of what they don’t know. However, on the flip side...I’ve learned that some people are just haters and closed-minded. Be safe everyone!

I quit my new job after a month from being picked on and having a coworker telling me that my trainer has to stay home because he got covid from me. Then he tells me to learn to fucking drive. I went to a liquor store the other day with my mexican husband and this man chased me back to my car screaming at me to go back to china. Its ridiculous. These people have become animals. I was walking and this young adult walked up to me and told me to go kill myself. My husband saw this man and he had to chased him.

I point to Beau of the Fifth Column's video telling the history of Asian and Asian-Americans in America as evidence that the hate has always been there. It's only been recently when the hate has been 'encouraged' to be more open.

I just can't get over how much respect Asian people always show to everyone else, some of the most well manared respectful and humble human beings on planet earth and they get this sort of treatment.

I have traveled to many Asian countries and china are full of self important rude people. there are polite people everywhere, and the Asians are not the most humble nor "always" respectful. I see about the same respect from all nationalities, I have been to korea..japan..Ireland..England..Philippines..canada..mexico..Australia..teiwan..vietnam.. And In my travels I have met so many different nationalities not 1 specific nationality stands out as the MOST RESPECTFUL OR MOST HUMBLE. There are humble people and rude people in every country.

I’m Japanese and used to live in Seattle almost ten years ago. It breaks my heart to know that things really changed during the last few years for the Asian-American community and I don’t think I want to go back to the states for a while. I just pray and hope that covid goes away and that hate crimes stop. Update:I have read all the comments below and i ask for those who read my comment to think for themselves about what i wanted to say because i do not have any further comments on how i feel about my country or my race. We had to move out of our previous home in a different town because of Anti-Asian hate. The hate is still there but less in our new town. Thank you for speaking up for us. We love you.
A couple that we're friends with is from Myanmar, they lived in a neighborhood that bordered a majority Black neighborhood. They had to move to a better neighborhood as well as they were robbed in their own home and beaten pretty bad. What's even sadder is they didn't have anything worth robbing them over, just were victims of racists because they were naïve and easy targets.

I saw the movie when I was very very little so I only have vague memories of it, but now, as an adult, those words are absolutely chilling. Even more so as I am a Korean woman in the US who is afraid of even going to check my mail by myself. I think I will buy that movie and give it another watch today. Thank you.

Love Ken Jeong and the laughter and joy he brings to our lives. As to the solution for racism? My parents taught me never to limit my life and miss out knowing some incredible people simply because they didn't look like my family. Almost every Saturday night family dinner required adding table leafs to accommodate the assortment of friends invited over. These were loud and fun dinners, usually followed up with some board game. These dinners often looked like a gathering of the United Nations with friends from all nationalities and backgrounds. I think what my parents did is the best start to crush racism which is based on fear and lack of knowledge. Just have people over for dinner and go from there. I have kept up this tradition in my adult life and am enriched by the diversity of my friends and their experiences.

I love Ken. My obsession with South Korean variety and drama TV shows, make me happy after watching. He is humble and I agree with Ken and Seth.
I feel like Asian and Hispanic representation is always missed in Hollywood especially. I feel for Ken because he was probably type casted a lot. Hes the “funny asian side character” you never see him as a main or in a more serious role in a film. I feel like Asians and Latinos are always type casted and never represent enough.
The interesting thing about Latinos though is that Latinos can be of any race... People don't know actors like Cameron Diaz, Pedro Pascal, Bella Thorne, etc. are hispanic cause they don't look stereotypically latino. So because of that, it's not really that Latinos are being type casted, it's that Latinos are playing in many roles but people don't know that the actors and actresses are Latinos lol.
