All concept art was just in this game and in BF3: Aftermath and Final Stand DLC for maps and vehicles with BF4 weapons
It wasn't just the game either, the content creators, the little Easter eggs and challenges like the Dice camo, BFF's, the little things Dice did to be part of the community (like bro fists or jeep stuff in CTE), even I've got little birdy legs as an incripted message. Squad up on a Friday from yourself and the gang, clans renting servers, the brilliant DLC's and memes that sprouted from it. BF4 just had this whole feel of togetherness about it that hasn't been repeated. The game was ropey at launch, they acknowledged it and really worked with the community to fix it and what was the result?, One of the best FPS games in the last 20 years. This was the crest of the mountain and now we're slowly going back down again.
I've always been the one to think that the devs were never to blame and it was the fault of the marketing team 90% of the time, but in this occasion i can't help but feel like the devs don't care anymore based on the way they reacted to us asking for a product worth the price.
Bf3 was way better than Bf4. Bf4 maps sucked

@@ZeGaTronZ That just sounds like a skill issue and the buggyness might be because of the device you are using. I Use PS4 and I used to think like that too. I always called it "super buggy and laggy" but then I just made some changes and deleted a few hundred gigs of games and Its runs absolutely amaizing.

I still remember the first time I played bf4. I bought a new $100 wireless bf4 headset to celebrate the game being released....the game launched a helicopter flew over and I actually ducked my head and looked around confused....I knew I was in for a treat.
Mate I did the same exact thing, baught an astro headset and once I got into seige of shanghai and the tower dropped I can't honestly describe how great the audio sounded

I had a similar experience. When I first played on Seige of Shanghai and saw the building collapse, I was like OH MY GOD 😲
First time I played was on launch and the server would crash every time I joined a game. So I played single player and my save file would get corrupted when I turned off my ps4. That launch was horrible.
Clocked in 500 hours during high school days. Still remains as the best BF game in my book, and Ive been watching you since the golden days of its games lifescycle.
This game has such a weird hit registration as well as getting shoot by players not looking in your general direction. Wierd game, far from best BF.

3 and 4 are still my favorite FPS to this day. It's such a shame what they've done to this franchise.
Agreed...for now. BF3 had some issues at launch (mostly wrapon imbalances) that needed a lot of patching. People were irked at the "Premium" option. It turned out exceptionally polished even with the few glitches still left in it. BF4 had fairly significant issues at launch. They were patched out, but it took time. BF2042 could get fixed! It's still new. It's certainly not as inherently "good" as BF4, BF3, BFBC2 (very chaotic and a bit overreaching) but it has potential. I say we give Dice a chance to polish this one up to a nice shine. They've earned it through their previous titles.

I think BF4 is the only First Person Shooter where I can place dead last on the score board and still have fun

I've only recently rediscovered BF4 and I have to say, when you get those battlefield moments going on, it feels absolutely awesome. I've shot someone as an assaulter, then been taken out by a little bird only to see it be destroyed by an engineer and have the little bird crash land several metres away while I'm on killcam. As far as gaming, where else can you get such layered and intense action??
The halo show feels like it is made by people that had the game explained to them by a friend while only half-listening, but never actually played it themselves
I''m not a huge Halo guy and I personally enjoyed it, excluding "that scene/arc" which I felt was very much forced. It has its downsides to be sure, but it' s 7/10 on IMDB so it seems like big Halo fans hate it, while "ordinary people" think it's so so to OK.
Bf4 was made during a time when games were made to be fun, rather than just a recurring shortcut to your wallet

I never one day took for granted how happy I was with Battlefield 4 from the first day to the last day I will forever remember it as my favorite large scale shooter ever
Every time I see people post these I’m suprised. Am I the only one who thought of how lucky we were and how we just needed to progress on what battlefield 4 was? Similar to how they did 3 then 4.

I have over 6000 hours in BF4. Pre-Ordered it, with premium. Suffered through all the early problems as they slowly fixed everything. Moved on to BF1 when it came out, but got board of it. BF4 is one of the best of the BF games.
I didn’t make it through the early period, I only played for a couple months and then gave up
Just downloaded BF4 yesterday and finished the campaign, didn't realize that the servers are still open, gonna go into multi-player today

We were well aware Bf4 was great. Bf3 was even amazing. We didn't expect the company's to fail us over and over.

Some of my best games in bf where in bf4 with my mates just slogging it out in online matches.. used to be a custom server (Axor I think) that was Operation Locker 24/7 but with 3000 tickets per side … so even if you got pushed back to spawn you could still break free and still win sometimes even it was legendary..
Axor server is still active (and almost full everytime) on xbox one :)
I've rented out a server for 90$ just because me and my friends we still playing this game more than any other battlefield. So yes, this bf still very alive...

Still the gold fps standard in my book. While crunchy looking it plays at 120 fps on Series X and it’s glorious.
For me BF4 was the best. Came out broken asf and slowly changed into the best BF ever.

@@SHAHDIFMDKF it depend if they get the core gameplay of the previous battlefield. Developpers must move on and and get some new challenge while leaving the spot for younger developper. They only need to get trained with UE5 and use the same algorithm as bf4

Hey Jack, I still remember, you, matimmio, level cap and x factor playing bf3, and x factor was so good in the tanks, then I started playing too, I was a tanker, have had many fun games in the tanks, with minimal deaths, but I wasn't that good as an infantry player
Thats the whole tank deal. Regardless of how good you are at infantry, getting in a tank is like... getting in a tank.

I love BF4 vids, such a good time in that game. Regarding the loss of smell/taste Jack:- Everyone recovers at different rates, but you can assist your smell coming back. Obviously there's the "burnt Orange" trick which apparently helps for one or the other. I lost my sense of smell, which actually freaked me out for a bit. I have this morning ritual where I'll open my coffee jar and take a sniff as I pour my coffee, it was the most distinct smell I could imagine, so every morning I'd do that and imagine the smell. Apparently it does help with regaining smell. Took me up to a couple of months before my sense of smell came back to 50-70% and 10months later it's not quite as good as it used to be (85% I'd say), I used to have a crazy keen sense of smell. Hoping it does fully return but better than not smelling at all! Best of luck on the full recovery and thanks for the vid! :)
Remember how pissed everyone was when bf4 released all buggy. And here we are years later saying how amazing it is. Those were the “good ol days”. This industry is dumpster fire and needs to be better. Customer care has become the LAST thing they care about.
Jack if you think BF4 is fun as-is, you should play some more hardcore, but with actual squad teamwork (taking objectives, covering each other's backs, etc) that'd be a treat to watch

I know alot of people's favorite game was BF3 but for me BF4 was my most played battlefield game ever. I have so many good memories playing this game after school or work with friends in a Xbox live party. Wll forever have a deep connection to this game thankfully to Dice! BF4 was really just BF3.5 basically. It just feels like a bigger better BF3. Especially after they added some of the classic BF3 maps.
BF4 actually had a dev team and ethos within said team, a group that strived for continuous improvement. Easter eggs, ambiance of the game etc. Every content creator loved this game and didn’t want to say goodbye. 2042 is a dumpster fire, empty cash grab. Worst game of year for me 😂
im not sure if you remember, you mightve been too young, but people thought pretty much the same abour BF4 when it released. it had microtransactions before it was playable for most people. day one premium for cosmetic items. im not saying youre wrong, but if you think that the bf games after BF4 are somehow bad in a different way, youre delusional.

BF4 was by far my fav!! I really wish they would give it an expanded and enhanced update. It looks terrible on series X, id even pay for it lol. since I played on xbox one I really dont wanna lose my progress going to pc after having most everything unlocked just to have the game not be a blurry mess.
I’m sure if you play it with the game pass app on PC you keep your Xbox progress as you use your Xbox account 👍
I also noticed this on the series x, I found it helps if you go into the display settings on the xbox and tune the resolution down. I think the upscaling on the series x causes it to look grainy

Nice to see. I'm surprised though to see so many praise the game but so few people playing. Dice had every Rush map running on official servers (console though) up until this winter until they closed them down-most likely because we were only about 30-40 regular players around the world.

Personally it was always 3 for me. BBC2 was my intro to the BF world and for me 3 was jaw dropping. I had hundreds upon hundreds of hours gameplay on it. I always found the knife attack was balanced just right in 3 too. (Yeah I was that guy that flanked the snipers and collected their tags mercilessly) 4 always felt…… clunky? Heavy? I don’t know. The maps just weren’t as satisfying but both had amazing exceptions to that rule. It just never gripped me like 3 did I guess.
Same, for me 4 never lived up to 3. It felt more like an expansion not a new game. But I played on the Xbox so maybe the PC experience was that much better

We certainly didn't have it so good for the first year.
The beta was fun, not as fun as the crazy BF3 beta but still fun. I would take year one BF4 over what they have done to the almost perfect shooter.
I think the not so good phase of battlefield 4 lasted for certainly more than one year. Maybe two or even three.
First six months were rocky, but once netcode was fixed, it was all good.

I’m the opposite. The game ran so poorly for so long when it came out I gave up a few months in. I never experienced it when it got better because I had moved on to other games. I put in the disc a few months ago but it just doesn’t hold up on Xbox at all, I do enjoy watching content on BF4 though!

they tuned BF3 much faster from release and it still stands up as a good game. BF4 was in CTE for so long it was a wreck before that!

My son was born 12-20-2013 about a month after the game came out, now we both play this game together on the ps4, still so much fun.
