    • @@hgibbons69 I get that you're trying to sound smart online and may even understand a little bit. Fiber is capable of far beyond a gigabit speed, even my copper CAT6A is capable of over 10 Gbps, and I reliably get well over 800Mbps down and frequently get over 900Mbps down on my desktop, so my actual speeds are damn good regardless of whatever jealous insults you may want to type out. If you're trying to say the ISP isn't capable of providing the real speed, then you're still wrong. The only limiting factor in most cases is the speed at which the content is provided by the source. Downloading from one site, for example, might suck while downloading from another might be fantastic.

  • I used to work on office, now 100% remote. Love this monitor, not only now I have dual screen work setup, but also I can simple put it on the shelf after work. I like high refresh rate, since scrolling lots of code, I prefer clear view during that. Also it's perfect on short trips, not only for quick work sessions, but connecting switch as well or play movie from phone. I know I could go with less gaming option, but hey I could afford it and there aren't so many battery powered portable screens with that quality. My plan is to have one big desk with Odyssey G9 on it with desktop pc and second setup with this monitor + work laptop on table only for working hours.

    • @@clusterduckster I do. I had a laptop before this. Problem with laptops, at least modern ones that can game, are thermals and updates to hardware. I had an A51m and the thermals were so horrific I couldn't get anywhere near the advertised specs out of it. Upgrading, which is why I got it, became impossible when they scraped gpu and cpu upgrade paths for the laptop. Also, it needed two ac adapters and the battery was useless (lasted about an hour and it had major functionality issues when on battery so I never bothered ). I got fedup and wanted something where if I wanted the screen updated I could, or the computer, I could, without rebuying a thousands of dollars setup. My wife has fibromyalgia and crohn's. She moves from room to room often to keep from getting stuff and sore. One power cord, one cable for power/vid for the monitor. I have a small Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo I use when on the go. I barely have to pack anything and moving around the house is easy with no issues with space use or issues with thermals. I'm very happy.

Yes I am still shy of 240Hz by 96Hz, but it's still a better upgrade path seeing as my laptop screen is a 15" 144Hz 3ms G-sync panel. • If I could afford it I would love to have one! As someone pointed out, it would be nice having chromecast or Firetv built in for entertainment but with Samsung Phones offering Dex and continuously getting more powerful, get a hard case with it and your set. People are already carrying around $1,300 mini computers in their pockets to primarily use for calls, texts, and streaming. A screen bundled with a keyboard to take along with you when you need to work and leave behind whenever is much lighter then carrying around a heavier laptop consuming more power when most students spend so much on a laptop to just to use it for searching the internet, online streaming, and typing papers. Everything you can do on a phone but with a larger screen. And people tend to replace their phones once every 2-3 years vs 4 or 5 years for a laptop. This screen has many possibilities.

  • use cases: 1-get those 50,000-130,000 mah portable battery powerbank, connect consoles to one of these and then you can play it anywhere. 2-you may connect your samsung/huawei(Dex&other variants) or any other MHL phones/tablets to this, and now you can play anywhere in bigger screen than your phone&tabet screen. 3-you've got a 12/14" laptop and if you need bigger screen but just sometimes, you can use these 15-16-17-18" portable monitors to have it on a bigger screen if you want. 4-and having two displays for laptop users are always a bonus if one can do one things in one screen and the other in the second,if users are moving between library, different environment and you just simply can't move your big wide monitor around; so it's portable if you put it in your laptop bag alongside your current laptop.
