Got a 1660ti and a r7 2700x 24gb 2666mhz ddr4 get 40 fps on high 1440px very similar to what I had in p3d with loads of add ons
@@nilen it crawls on anything shy of a 2080. On the 2080TI best you can get with customer end optimization is around 55-60. RTX Titan is about the same. It's a very poorly optimized game.
Nils Svanstedt Jayztwocents did a video on how to optimize your PC for flight sim with software, because with a 2080 ti he was only getting 30-40 FPS. With optimizations on software he was able to get 58-60fps, and the same frame rate on a 2060. It’s not a matter of gpu horsepower, it’s a matter of poor CPU optimization as it tries to peg just a couple cores instead of spreading load.

I wish plasma was developed more, I had one that runs at 600hz, super smooth and better than hdr range. Only downside was response at over 100ms, and was "limited" to 1080p.

Would you please make a video esssplaining the pros and cons of buying a 4k TV or 4k monitor and trying to game at 1440 and 1080? I'm learning that TV's have had scalers for a long time now while monitors do not. A lot of people are probably in a similar situation as I am ... been gaming on a 9 year old 1080p 21.5 inch monitor at 60 FPS but very badly want to make the jump to 4k 144 FPS with all the new gaming features that often come with HDMI 2.1 etc. I work on the computer but also game on both console and PC. Will monitors have to start including scalers & upscalers and how much do scalers add to the cost? Are todays scalers and upscalers ok or do they need upgraded for 4k, 1440 & 1080? I don't mind gaming at 1440 or 1080 for a faster refresh rate but for those games that do 4k at 120 well, I don't want to miss out on that by settling for a 1440 monitor. Is going with a TV with HDMI 2.1 a better option than monitors due to the scalers and upscalers on TV's? According to the "Steam Hardware & Software Survey: January 2021" nearly 70% game on a 1080p display. Most of them would like to make the jump to 4k. When will 4k options at 32 inch with HDMI 2.1 come out at reasonable prices? If I do get a 4k TV or monitor I'm also concerned about watching older content or KZhead for example that may be in 480 - only to have issues for upscaling it. That's another issue I'm hoping to avoid. If I'm gonna pay for a 4k TV or monitor I want it to look good at 4k, 1440, 1080 and good enough at 720 and 480 resolutions. Anything being done about these issues? ; )

Rhythm gamer here. iPads can run most of our games a 1k+ FPS and the ludicrous speeds of objects disappearing and moving while we play make super high refresh rate displays like this a great purchase. Can’t wait to spend my stimulus check on a 360 to upgrade from my 144. Might not be a huge difference but I need a new monitor anyway so might as well get the best.

I bought an overpowered laptop overseas that was running 360 Hz the whole time. Worked with a couple of my games but as soon as I started up a pixelated game from 7 years ago I was lagging insanely at a lot of parts and felt so much resistance. The only option I could drop it down to was 60 Hz after hours of investigation on the problem and that fixed it. Now I'm here doing my HW with various videos learning about refresh rate. Me having no idea what the color accuracy numbers mean: “Oh wow look at that.”
Ideally, you want dE (essentially the difference between the actual color and the color shown on the monitor) as close to 0 as possible. An average person won't be able to notice a difference in color with dE around 3, and with dE below 1, not even the most sensitive people should be able to tell the difference. So average dE of 0.85 and maximum dE of 1.88 is indeed very good. Though it has to be said it's also kinda pointless in a way, because no two monitors will be alike, and the colors also drift over time. So while this shows a very good baseline, anyone who cares about color accuracy will still need to calibrate the monitor regularly, just like any other monitor.

@@adome7484 I wouldn't expect that upgrading past 360hz would be worth the money. 360hz is only a little better than 240hz or even 144hz so I'll probably stick with the 360hz monitor for a very long time unless there's some insane technology leap in a few years.
I use a 60hz monitor and then i used a 75hz monitor and it was a very big improvement and i could feel it

Hey, Linus. Any news on when will PG259QN hit the market? That babe was announced back in January 2020, and it's sorta the end of the year.
I have watched Linus Tech Tips for quite some time, some of their reviews have helped out when it comes to buying stuff or chose from one product to another. When they talk about monitors if my understanding is correct is a complex subject due to different scenarios and types of monitors. I do not recall if they have made a video of about montors Bits, and how do they affect the user experice in refresh rate, latency, and anctuall benefit to have more data in the display. A monitor with more than 8 bits I presume is more data to be handle and more in a 10, 12, or N bits wich will slow the refresh rate. Would it possible to make video that focus in frame rate, monitor refresh rate, and their bit deph.
Bit depth is just about color bandwidth/precision. Pretty much everything that isn't HDR or some professional-grade display is going to be 8-bit. Even if its more, its a stat that doesn't effect refresh rate. You probably won't see a monitor with 10 or 12 bit color being advertised with a low refresh rate, but a monitor like that wouldn't get a faster refresh rate from using 8-bit color either.
