Lyrics:
Love is a hunger that burns in my soul
But you never notice the pain
Love is an anchor that won't let me go
I reach out to hold you but you push me away
And you always convince to stay
And I wonder why we hold on with tears in our eyes
And I wonder why we have to break down to make things alright
And I wonder why I can't seem to tell you goodbye
Yeah, I wonder why
My parents have been "apart" for almost 20 years and they both will still cry when this song is put on. Coming from a divorce home, it's nice to still see love.
Thanks for the likes and your comment over my post, thanks for being a fan of mine 🥰
This song cuts deep after being in 19yr relationship an having to end it with 3 kids broke my heart even thow I eneded it we still hold on as hurts 2 years on 😢😢
11 year old me remembers sitting in my garage, with a crappy little radio at 11 at night on a Friday. It was raining, mid fall. Leaves were starting to turn and fall, the warm air mixed with rain and leaves, blowing in the warm winds. And there's me, sitting in my garage, wondering to myself where life will take me. 40 year old me is sitting in my office, looking at a late fall day listening to this. Looking out the glass, thinking of 11 year old me. Full circle, my friends. This song really takes me back, so soul shockingly beautiful.
Well said my friend well said!
That’s life...
Great comment
So poetic. Beautiful memories. I have a similar experience.
Polybius 00 😊🍀🐞✌️
The 90s was THE era of the power ballad...and great sax solos....and great vocalists like this! What a great decade for music of all genres! I know nostalgia can play tricks on you and make you think things were better in hindsight than they really were but, man, I miss those times! For the music and entertainment at least..
Thanks for the likes and your comment over my post, thanks for being a fan of mine 🥰
Can't believe this dude was only 26 at the time, he had the voice of a seasoned bluesman!
Whaaaaat ? 26 ???? He looks like 38 😂
@@tonicaffierro2549 ikr he definitely sounded like it, probably looked like a modern 35 too
@@JPMcFly1985 Exactly. But in the 90's the people looked older as they were by than right?
I don't understand why he wasn't 'bigger', what raw talent! Fabulous gut wrenching song!
Absolutely my feelings at the moment 😔 nobody understands my grief
He wouldn't give up the sax when the public did...
I’ve often wondered the same thing. He is awesome
Heard him sing this along with playing some nice sax 3-4 yrs ago with the tucson symphony!
It's always underrated songs that never get enough recognition
i'm 14 years old and i found this song and i love it its sad this kind of music isn't populair anymore and people used to sing with their souls but you don't hear that allot anymore pretty sad
You'll be surprised, still plenty around!
Well said🏝️ we just saw him in concert last night, he and his band were awesome
Got a good head of your shoulders and great taste in music for 14yr old, well youl know be 15yr
Then I don't know what kind of music you listen, but I do listen to artists who actually put their heart and soul into getting the best out of their voice. Maybe you should look better bro.
Big up keep on the original sounds . Music had substance
Saw him 1993 live in Frankfurt. Love the complete Album
This has got to be one of the best '90s songs! What a talented bloke Curtis is!
I agree never get tired listening to this awesome song👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

@@CurtisStigersprvt I did not attend Pomona College. Fan since i first heard this song in 1991. Then bought the album. Every single song is a.m.a.z.i.n.g. The sax, your voice, it sings to the soul.

@@karnallsop9673 He's still going strong! Making great music all the time. Saw him live in Seattle last night. Fabulous!
So right, thats what happened in real day by day.,
Sounds like Ray Charles a little especially at the end of this song.
One of the best songs ever made
He lives in Boise Idaho and was a member of a group called The Pop tops. The lead singer died from Aids. GREAT MEMORIES.
They were a 70's band, Curtis wasn't a member
Real men sing from the heart like legend lad curtis stigers 👍👍👍👍👍
Curtis Stigers has PASSION and soul! It's not just in his voice, it's in his actions. He gives benefit concerts to this day . Innocence Project, a homeless shelter benefit, lots! His music has changed, but not his soul and passion!

Any real man like Curtis Stigers here?
Yes
Me, too.
This man had a voice so incredible I will never understand why he did have a 50 year career filled with hits.
But, He still has. I was just seeing and listening to him yesterday in stage…
Why wasn't this a bigger hit? Why didn't Curtis Stigers soar? I was first attracted to that sax playing and then wow he can sing too! I remember hearing this on the radio and rushing to buy the CD. Still have it.
Such a shame love songs like this are not popular anymore. Real music R.I.P.
still gets played regular on the radio
Just heard it a few minutes ago on KEOM Radio Dallas TX
I was just thinking about how true Miss American Pie was, music these days only lasts for a short time, artists are 10 a penny X factor people, but you'll have difficulty explaining that to the current generation, bad times.
They don't make songs like this anymore brings they bring memories back can't be replaced that's what you call music
So right my friend this is sung with real feelings and power one of the best.

I loved this album when it was released. Curtis has a great voice and plays a mean sax. It made me cry hearing it again today. Many thanks.🌞🙏🇬🇧🌞
Bloody good song
When music sent shivers down your spine.
You may find yourself with tears in your eyes, right about the time you hear those words, but with no idea why. You know this came from Curtis' soul. Crushing and elevating at the same time, it's achingly beautiful. It's one of those songs that, if you wrote it and never another, could validate a career on its own. The saxophone, an instrument lacking in current music, is just the cherry on top.
His passion, his soul, it's all there! I've heard most of his songs and they all strike my heartstrings!

When a song is This good, it always intrigues me that it could register even one thumbs down, let alone a few hundred, but they always do. I get that people have different tastes, but this is a timeless masterpiece, so how could anyone dislike it enough to give it a thumbs down. I can only think that the thumbs down come from either (a) genuine errors i.e. accidentally clicking it or clicking the wrong one (b) tone deaf individuals (c) trolls who like to be always negative or (d) those who may have been at least ok with the song but don't like the video per se.
More often than not its people disliking it for the sake of disliking it, no video will ever be popular with no dislikes
I'm a rock and metalhead but this song is amazing! People who rate it down won't know good music when it hits them in the face.

Woow 90s memories.. the 80s and 90s was fantástic styles
This was our wedding song two years ago. It's an all time classic
Curtis was a manly version of Michael Bolton with his long hair, sax and soulful voice.....he should have been more popular.
Michael Bolton had all those things too. He just came first.
Why can’t Michael Bolton come at the same time?
Bolton was a better singer though
And Marti Pellow, oh and Joshua Kaddison :) love the long hair back then
@@DrRiddlez2015 Not sure tbh, love both, sure, Michael did more hits, but like them equally.
Brilliant song... still sounds just as fresh and great as it did when first released nearly 30 years ago - timeless classic !
@Fredrick Frederickson I did say "nearly" 30 years old..... It was released in 1991, so in 2019 (4 yrs ago), unless my maths is wrong, it was 28 yrs old. In my book that's close to 30 yrs old and I equate "nearly" with "close to". It's now of course 32 years old - how time flies.
Oh my days, take me back :-)
Misschien wel één van de mooiste lovesongs ooit geschreven!
