X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Gambit, Taylor Kitsch featurette
This featurette was longer than his entire screentime
This made me lol hard OMG XD
😆 true
We want taylor! we want taylor! as Gambit.
Don't care if it's many years later or if they would ever someday make centric X Men movie of Gambit with Taylor Kitsch portraying him which I'd be here for, but no matter what, Taylor Kitsch is and always will be an original and true live action version of Gambit to me.
Love Taylor Kitsch as Gambit. The filmmakers played their cards right picking him to play the devilishly charming man.
"I've paid mine in spades" That line always gives me chills, then again just listening and watching Taylor's interpretation of Gambit gives me major chills,he doesn't disappoint as my favourite x-men character
I was so dissapointed that Gambit had such small part in the movie because it was the whole reason for me to see the movie. Gambit is my favorite X-Man.
I WANT A MOVIE ABOUT GAMBIT HE WAS MY FAVORITE OF THE X-MEN I LIKED TAYLOR IN THE MOVIE, BUT HIS PRESENCE IN THE MOVIE WAS TOO SHORT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF HIM AND GAMBIT
Yeah, same goes with Venom in Spiderman 3. I don't get it! Sam Rami could have made multiple movies at the same time! That would save the trouble. But then again, we would have to wait a bit longer for the first of the movies to come out and wait one year after the next for the others. Still, it would have been a whole lot better for positive reviews and for the money.
Fox is planning a Gambit solo movie after his appearance in the next X-Men film. Sony is also planning a Venom spin-off.
***** Hope they actually get two separate movies about that, one about the black suit and the other about venom. That's why we had that reboot in the first place! Hope they do it right this time! I'm sorry, when Spiderman is usually supposed to be slightly witty like Superman, those comics are supposed to lean more towards the Batman direction in terms of tomes. What I meant about that is that the Black Suit subplot is supposed to be dark! That's why a lot of comic book movie fans compare the Dance Scene in Spiderman 3 to... Okay, come get Nostalgia Critic to shoot me in the face when I say this, um, comparing the dance scene to the, um, shoot, forget it BAT CREDIT CARD! The Dance Scene killed Spiderman 3 in the same exact way ThatMemeWithTheIrony I told you about nearly killed the Batman franchise before Chris Nolan rescued it.
Tatiana Oliveira Same here.
Taylor was great as Gambit, they really should bring him back. I'm glad he didn't have that phony sounding accent from the cartoon. I know a few Cajun people from Louisiana, and they don't sound like that at all. The cartoon one sounded like someone from New York trying to fake a Cajun accent. And yes, the Gambit from the comics can propel himself in the air using his staff, he's done it before.
Taylor Kitsch was the perfect Gambit! I was even dreaming of a solo "Gambit" film. I had found his presence in the previous film less than enough (I kept re-watching his scenes) and now you go on and replace him with Tatum who btw did a terrible job in "Jupiter Ascending" -a film which felt like it was written overnight. Please, please bring Kitsch back into the project. I want to see more of the "original" gambit not Tatum!
@giftofgab247 i mean when's the last hit tatum was in either.
@giftofgab247 until relatively recently no one was a fan of comics and the movies certainly weren't taken seriously or viewed as respectable.
@giftofgab247 if the xmen were respected and taken seriously they wouldn't have been in black leather. They were looked at as silly kids things to sell toys and happy meals. It's no secret Hollywood didn't take comics seriously all you have to do is listen a bit and you'd hear it.
Heck yeah he should play the part again of the MCU what you all think and also have a Solo movie and have a good story of him and where he comes from and also how he got to be part of the X-Men.
i really hope to see more of him playing gambit
This makes me hate this movie even more! The fact That all these actors worked so hard, but the script was so BAD! And they gave Gambit powers he never had!
The movie was good just that they recast Taylor
Really wanted him to have a major role in the X men movies!
How can you even complain about Gambit in this movie, he was amazing!
This is the first time Gambit appears in an X-Men franchise movie. He was planned to make appearances in the previous movies, but was always cut out.
Yes! Love Gambit! Now if only they could lead Gambit to Rogue and then we'll really see the sparks fly *wags brows* Gambit + Rogue forever ^_^
Comeon fox make a gambit movie... we all want it.
LOL took the words right out of my mouth, i dont know WHO came up with the bright idea to stick Bobby with Rogue but everyone and their mother knows that Gambit and Rogue belong together
Bad ass and underrated Gambit!
he can manipulate the kinetic energy in everything. He can charge objects with it to make them explosive. He uses the playing cards because he can charge them very fast. Bigger objects take longer. That's what I've always heard.
TK has nice hands :) I could watch the card work for 2 hrs. Forget the movie.
Its a tragedy that gambit hasnt been in any other films and they canceled the Tatum film. Gambit and wolverine were my absolute favorite when i watched the animated series as a kid. Gambit has been my all time favorite x-men.
They should give him his own movie !
They really do need to do a gambit movie! Taylor did a great job, just needs to work on the accent
yaaa 4 sure!!! we need our Rogue/Gambit !!
I cannot believe they cast Channing Tatum as Gambit for X-Men Apocalypse. TaylorKitsch did a fantastics job. It's nonsense.
While I would love to see Taylor Kitsch return as Gambit, I'm not gonna knock Channing Tatum unitl I at least see a trailer or screenshot or something. Since seeing the Joker in Dark Knight I've learned not to judge something before seeing it in action. My biggest hope above all is that Gambit, regardless of whos playing him, will have an important role in the movie, particularly since we're bringing in Apocalypse and possibly Mr. Sinister.
Yea, but still no one seemed to really mind it over Gambit. Gambit is my favorite X-Men. Although Kitsch didn't have the accent downpacked, he was the best choice for Gambit imo.
Aside from Wolverine, Gambit is my favorite mutant of all time. I'd love to have his powers
i was so inlove with gambit since the first x-men series >.
Ugh, why not keep him?? He did well in a horrible movie! Channing Tatum is not a good actor and I cannot even to begin to try and imagine him in the role. Taylor was great!
Ikr. Channing Tatum is just a bit of eye candy for 15 year old girls I guess.
Nightsilver He's not even that. Don't find him attractive at all. Shoot Ian Somerhalder would be a better Gambit than Tatum.
***** Yeah true.
Gambit needs his own movie. But I actually liked what they did with him in Wolverine and I thought Taylor was great.
I love Taylor and I think he did a fine job as Gambit. I would have liked it better if he had the eyes and I would have loved it if he had the accent but he was still a good actor. I blame the director and that. Also, disappointed since I am a huge GambitXRogue!
@giftofgab247 a movie flopping doesn't make it bad any more than a movie succeeding makes it good
@giftofgab247 same i really liked it too, shame it failed
gambit needs his own movie. seriously.
gambit is the single coolest x man end of story
They HAVE to do a Gambit:Origins movie with Taylor Kitsch, they just HAVE to!! X-P He was perfect in every way, all he needs is more screen time, the red and black eyes, and most importantly, HE NEEDS ROGUE!!! Really, whoever's bright idea it was to put Rogue and Bobby together should be stoned. . .X-( Everyone and their mother knows Gambit is Rogue's man
Yes, I miss this Gambit🥹
I want Taylor Kitsch in the Gambit movie.
"At a Fox Blu-ray press event in Beverly Hills in September 2009, Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed that there are plans for a film involving the New Mutants. Lauren Shuler Donner declared that Gambit is one of her favorite X-Men characters, and a film for him would be considered depending on the success of Wolverine." - Wikipedia
@nameme101 Agreed. I was also severely annoyed that Gambit's bo-staff was snapped in two thanks to Wolverine's claws. Canonically speaking, isn't Gambit's bo-staff made of adamantium? Therefore, it wouldn't snap when Wolverine sliced it in half. I'm pretty sure it's one of the reasons why Gambit at his best can easily school Wolverine in a fight in the comics.
I agree with the people who say he needed a better accent, but eh, I thought he was great. Cajun accents are hard to pick up, and with this Gambit, they seemed to be going for an Ultimate flavor, so an understated accent worked for it.
HE CAN FOR REAL THROW FUCKING CARDS!!!! You don't even have to train him again! Taylor Kitsch is a no-brainer to play gambit. Gah!
What SHE said! We need a Gambit movie---the sooner, the better!
He wasn't a bad Gambit, he just still had that Friday Night Lights TX accent instead of a true N.O. cajun accent. At times you could hear like when he said "May I deal you in?" to Logan. Dude from True Blood that played Rene in the first season and also plays on Terriers would be a perfect Gambit if they decide to bring him back to film.
Gambit is awesome as hell!!!
The most beautiful man in the world, Tay❤
omg i LOVE gambit...made me sooo happy when i saw him in this movie but then pissed when i saw how little screen time he got...i really wish they would come out with a really, REALLY good movie with an awesome actor playing him =) this guy wasnt bad as far as looks...but they have to work on the accent and eyes =3 if he's one of the most loved x-men character....why the hell doesnt he have his own movie?!
about damn time they put gambit in an x-men movie!!!
"My name is Remy LeBeau. To my enemies it's Gambit. You can go on ahead and forget my first name for now. Every man has a price to charge and a price to pay. I pay mine in spades. If I've learned anything in my life it's this. Always play the cards you're dealt. My name is Gambit, and I play for keeps."
gambit has such a cool power
I want him and Rouge in a movie together!
The name is gambit, remember it! :D
they didn't even give him training for the accent, so i would say he did a pretty good job given his limited resources.
Yeah I really want to see more of Gambit and Azazel.
If he was in XMen: The Last Stand, he would have made the movie much better!
First Class being set in the past at least makes it possible for Gambit to appear again in a sequel with a 70s setting.
lol i think what he meant was he really likes gambit :D I wish Marvel would make an X-men Origins: Gambit movie. :3
I love Gambit :P he deserved a bigger role, not such a fan of wolverine, it's all about him and it's getting old!!! GAMBIT FTW!!!
I was literally about to mention that.So right!
One of the only things I liked about X-Men origins wolverine was Gambit. In my opinion they got him right. If he really gets his own movie (which he deserves, he among Nightcrawler and Deadpool is one of my favorite X-men characters) I hope they get Taylor back and not Channing Tatum I mean wtf?!
My main complaint (other than lack of screen time) would be that the kinetic energy didn't look that great. It was way too scarce, the impact was too small, they didn't glow enough, though I thought having his finger tips glow was a nice touch.
I love Gambit! :3 One of my favourites in the cartoon AND in this movie. Card flourishes, kinetic energy, and like some kind of freaking control over gravity or something.... But for all my love, I couldn't help but notice at 2:33 - 46 hours a DAY? Come on, Gambit. Really? :')
Unfortunately, thanks to the makers of the X-Men movies, we can pretty much forget about seeing Rogue and Gambit together EVER! (Because according to the storyline, Gambit would be about 30+ years older than Rogue. . .>_
I am glad they at least showed they eyes red and black for a moment. It would have been much better if they had stayed like that the entire time he was using kinetic energy. If they do not use Taylor Kitsch when they make the Gambit Origins movie (I say WHEN and I mean WHEN and it had better be SOON) I will be heart broken.
"Ya miss me?"
I totally wanted to see Gambit and Rogue in the same movie, and in this series they wouldn't even be alive at the same time. Taylor and Anna would have been such a cute movie couple.
The name's Gambit. Remember it!
Gambit deserves his own movie... he is a fan favorite just like Wolverine. I don't understand how they just keep shiting on him. He is not even in UMvC3 FFS T__T
They wanted his eyes to glow when he used his powers. If his eyes were glowing all the time it would have been too cartoony. They said this on the Blu-Ray featurette
there should be a gambit movie with him in it.
This is more Gambit screen time than the movie.
Tatum can't be Gambit!!! Tatum could be... The Thing (Fantastic Four) or something similar, NOT Gambit! Stewart IS Professor X., McKellen definitely Magneto and I am almost convinced that Jackman has adamantium skeleton and claws in real life. All you need, is to give Kitsch an x-men suit and a trench coat, and there... you 've got Gambit!
Gambit is my fav character.
Hopefully Taylor reprises this role in the later movies
my favorite charater
i love gambit♥
@theboondocks01 Yeah it was Belladonna's brother, he did not want his sister marrying someone from the Thieves guild and also he did not want peace between the two guilds so he challenged Gambit to a fight in which Gambit ended up killing him. I think a Gambit spin-off (prequel leading up to the Wolverine film) will be a very good way to get the fans in. After all they are making a Magneto and even a Deadpool film.
You learn something new everyday!
Gambit is my favorite
best gambit ever.
Would someone know what is the song that starts when Logan and Jhon arrive in Bourbon where Gambit is playing pokar? I would thank you a lot
Gambit is an Omega level mutant that can manipulate an objects energy from Potential to Kinetic energy causing the object to Explode
@CaspperTheAssassin gambit first appeared briefly in Uncanny X-Men Annual #14 (1990), weeks before a more comprehensive appearance in Uncanny X-Men #266 (August 1990). (which the character "Flirts" with character Wolverine.) spoke of in wizard: the comic magazine with Stan lee and Jack Kirby
gambit movie....needed!!!!
@shoNuuff My problem is, yes they might've turned red when he used his power, however. That's who Gambit has always been, sine birth he'd had red and black eyes, even when NOT using his power. Hence why he was abandoned as a baby and grew up in the streets, and hence why his name is Le Diable Blanc. :/ I was disappointed in the lack of his CONSTANT eye color, and I wish they'd spent more time on him throwing the cards and the energy signatures on them. Hopefully next film they'll fix it a bit
Gambit can kick Wolverine's ass anytime...
great!!! upload more of this please!!!
- the producers did. They could have gone with contacts like Mystique had or they could have gone CGI, but the contacts would have been a helluva lot cheaper. They should have done that. Those eyes are unique to Gambit. Without them, he looks like an ordinary mutant. I also think those powers could have been used more. Not enough energy. Not to mention the wrong color. The energy is usually redish orange or just red. I know I'm picky but Gambit is my favorite character. I waited years to -
I don't understand why you virgins keep arguing about how he didn't bring to life the comics, didn't have the right eyes etc etc. Just enjoy the damn movie, Taylor did an awesome job.
What is your favirote Gambit card flourish
Gambit reminds me Kubrick's movie "A clockwork orange" protagonist Alex, in a new version, altered in a "good guy".
Ok dumb questions but here ya go, if anyone knows them: 1. What kind of hat does he exactly wear? 2. Is there a link to show how to throw cards like 21 seconds in the beginning
Funny, cuz if Kitsch only had a Montreal accent, he looks like goalie Jose Theodore in the interview parts... prob. would have had more of a Cajun effect than that which ppl are clamoring about! But it def. helps to have a hockey body to do that kinda training!!! I agree, there should be way MORE of Gambit (regardless of WHO plays him, but I do love Kitsch!) P.S.: Go Bruins! >:-)
what is gambit's power?
will gambit be in x men days of future and past?
The actor playing Gambit was good in the movie, it's just he didn't get enough screen time.
is ther a tutorial about how he trows the cards at 0:29?
3:57 Did he cut trhought the staff? It wasnt supposed to be adamatium?
@CordeliaDoyle - the producers said that putting contacts on him would be too "distracting" but I do agree w/ you. they altered his appearance a lot. from the coat, his accent & the way he charges up the cards but nonetheless, Taylor did a good though.
Twisted Fate and Jax combined = gg well played ;D
@lilDD09 They could have but I like how his eyes change to that colour when he is executing his power.
