I quite like this version of blob. His powers are not just being a fat dude, he was a powerful guy that just happens to be fat. He’s also not really a villain either.
He didn’t have much fat earlier in the movie then gained alot more later on

His powers never about "just being a fat dude", in the comics he's much more powerful in fact. Super strength, endurance, mass, and enhanced agility (he's not Spiderman but he's a lot quicker than you'd expect from a guy that big), but his chief ability is to create a sort-of kinetic forcefield that acts as an anchor when he's got both feet on solid ground, making him virtually immovable. Even the Hulk has a hard time moving him when his feet are planted

The most unrealistic thing in this clip is the fact that Blob holds a cup with a boxing glove.

My favourite part of this fight is actually the talk they have afterwards. Blob just gets really honest and had no idea Logan didn't know the full story of the villains.

This scene with Wolverine vs The Blob never fails to amuse me and I honestly think this might be one of the best scenes in the movie...

For anyone really wondering: YES, they do make stretchers for folks his size. When I worked in the ER, we had a gent brought in who weighed around 840 lbs and, while we had a devil of a time doing it, we got him on a specially designed stretcher just for patients like him. And they had got him on the ambulance stretcher before that.

The comic version of Blob absorbed kinetic energy. A punch to the skull wouldn't have done much to him. He also had the ability to gravitationally lock himself to the ground. (for some reason) Basically he (I think) was supposed to be the immovable object. There are a ton of fascinating characters/abilities in the x-men universe.

The actor who played Fred Dukes (Blob) is not even overweight. Hell of a costume job!
costume is not great but the cgi does the ripples in the "fat" from the punches is nearly all cgi including any movement in the chest area. fat suits for the most part are just like pillows under a shirt, they cant really move well. and as well he moves like a guy wearing a fat suit, he does not carry weight to the punches so it looks comical as he tosses people around, also the ring barely moves as he walks across it, like he is 200 pounds and not 500 pounds all you are doing is praising a costume for not being bad, but that does not mean it is a hell of a costume job.
Kevin Durand is the actor who played Blob and has been a bad guy in other roles like in Wild Hogs with Tim Allen and Walking Tall with Dwayne Johnson
