Who needs a gaming pc when you can have knight armor
“Knight.”
This man is spitting facts
I KNOW RIGHT
If y’all want actual Knight armor off the shelf, I’d recommend Medieval Collectibles or Kult of Athena.
Dang straight! 😛
That helmet is centuries off from that plate armor lol
lmao yeah
ya
The whole bloody harness is pretty shoddy lol
It just looks awful. Looks more like the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz.
Only by a few, they still used these helmets up until the 14th century
People say stuff like cars and boats attract women, but everyone's forgetting how showing up to a party in a knight armor is a Chad move
indeed
RIP historical accuracy... they didn't even try LOL
Blame Jeffery 😎
The greathelm is great I think the plate is decent too
Although idk I’m more of a Greek - Egyptian man
Short answer, No, it looks silly Metatron did a good response video to a video demolition ranch made on the armour while testing it.
Unfortunately this set in particular looks like he's wearing a tin can
It felt like one lmao 🤣
What's up with that one Asian dude trying to slap you what is he mad it's not samurai armor😤
he just jelly
that is racist on so many levels im dying 🤣🤣
My recommendation when looking for cheap production costume armor, get it piece by piece over time with the ability to choose what you want. That said be sure there's plenty of photos of different angles or better yet see it in person if possible to get a clear mental image of what will fit together. I honestly I clicked on this video hoping to find some feedback on Thor Instruments, cause I've seen good & bad reviews and just ordered a full helmet with my fingers crossed.
we had honestly thought about getting a set piece by piece, but were too lazy and just wanted to have the armor which didn’t really turn out well in the end, lol.
The foam armor that Shadiversity uploaded recently costs about the same and looks better imo
153 views only? This is underrated lol
thanks dude
Wait, a 13 Century Great helm with a 15 Century plate armor?
that’s what it came with lol
@@TheDukeTMOfficial xD
These random people were so happy about meeting a "real" knight...
Thrill issues 🤣
I ended up getting some armour from Armstreet, more expensive, but most of their stuff is at least SCA usable and can be worn relatively comfortably (though the heat issue is something you can never truly get away from when wearing metal plates all over your body). Haven't got all the pieces yet but the leg armour attached to the wool jacket are mobile enough to do squats and run up stairs with, so I count that as a good mobility. While you do pay more for places like Armstreet they at least allow you to do a moderate amount of custom measurements so the armour fits you better, rather than just sending you a set of one size fits none display armour.
Thank you, I will have to look into that.
Which armor did you get? 15th century plate? Did you get voiders? Do you get arming jacket at the same time or make one your own? Thanks.
@@irfannurhadisatria2540 idk what specific one, just crusader armor i guess, we did not get voiders and we used some footmats as an undergarment
@@irfannurhadisatria2540 I got their Kingsguard set, 14th century, based on the churburg castle #13 harness. Paired it with a 14th century Pourpoint and sewed on the arming points for the leg plates myself. Bought the pourpoint first to get a good fit, and cause they made it they know how much extra measurement to add to my own body measurements to get the various plates to fit snug. Waiting on the arm plates currently and after that all I have left to order is the skirt, pauldrons and helmet.
I recommend simply getting a great helm and riveted mail, riveted mail is more high quality than butted, and it is also lighter and can even stop swords, arrows and axes.
Kult of athena have better and cheap armor, and the most important, it's historically accurate.
ill have to check that out, thank you.
No it aint. Its mostly historically innaccurate stuff
@@lassim3111 You're right, looking back these days I've seen some weapons that were invented with some or no historical basis, I can still find historical weapons pretty easy, there are many cheap blacksmiths to choose from, only a few are worth buying like windlass and ronin katana if you're low on cash .
@@geovanneteixeira100 Yeah the biggest problem is the fact, that you can find ”visored barbute” there
It's easier to make your own armor, there are some pretty good templates out there for a piece by piece construction. Even on yt.
Probably much cheaper too, lol. We have been looking at making some bucket armor, but just haven’t gotten around to building anything.
@@TheDukeTMOfficial Hey if all you looking for is making a cool fantasy armor, I can give you some advice, I have make my metal larp by myself with only basic tool. instagram.com/p/CItMgJXn16H/ For least than 1.5 hundred dollard of fournitur
@@patuccaneven8027 that armor looks awesome! Right now we’ve kind of paused on doing anything with armor, but if we restart i’d definitely be interested!
@@TheDukeTMOfficial Ok d'ont hesitate to contact me whenever you want.
will this protect us against heathens?
yes
That's a set of armour that you cannot fight in, because you fight against it.
Imagine how difficult it was for your ancestors to wear this and walk in the desert😅
I wore a pancho under my armor in the SCA. Not a military poncho for rain. But a woven blanket with a hole in the middle for the head. Fixed the same issues and i could take a hit.
hmm, I will have to consider that, thank you
@@TheDukeTMOfficial Forgot to mention the actual term. Quilted Gambison

Why would I want to display such an abomination that should not even be called armor if it is not capable of fulfulling the role? Also "we wanted to have armor that looked like a crusader". Crusaders didn't have plate armor. That only became a thing centuries later.
good points :(
Not technically true, plenty of crusades happened in the 14th-16th centuries, to say nothing about the Reconquista in Spain. Certainly wouldn’t have worn the great helm, though.
HELP! Bro I bought this exact armor specifically for Medieval MMA or (Buhurt), I spent like over $2,000 dollars for the armor combined with the costs of Gambeson and Riveted chainmail to wear underneath included with weopons (not the thorininstruments weopons). Will I be allowed to compete or will they bar me from the competition? I don't know if you fight in Medieval MMA or know anyone who does but I need a professional answer.
I do not fight in medieval mma, but I suppose it depends on their safety rules. This armor set does not sit very comfortably and could be knocked off easily, so I doubt they would allow it but I do not know, sorry.
My sir is going on a crusade to Lowe’s!!!!!
If anyone is looking for some slightly higher quality armour you should try kult of Athena or medieval collectibles
But thats more moners 🧐
If you buy armor again, don't buy from amazon
Noted 😉
Crusaders didn't have plate armour, but like you said this is just for fun.
I love it (Tomska reference)
Great video man
Thank you!
Why do you have a thirteenth century barrel helm with a harness of (presumably) 16th century plate harness?
amazon
This dude is a legend
Thank you 🙏 this world needs more supportive understanding people like you , YOU my friend are the legend 😎
Is this worth it for display or should you just get a better one?
I’d say it be good for display.
Damn bro why just throw it away I would’ve took it off for you😔
sorry duderino
@@TheDukeTMOfficial it’s all good brother
I mean this armor seems to be better for decoration because obviously it’s functionality and historical accuracy is a low but for your party you do need to wear a gambenson and some head padding
These need to go out on trendings haha
🤔😶😝😏🤓😇
It seems Solaire of Astora still looking for his sun in supermarket depths
yes... got to keep him away from any bugs of sorts
Any suit of armor that is going to fit you decently and look somewhat historical would cost a few thousand dollars. You are buying essentially rigid clothing made out of metal so it needs to be custom made to fit you correctly.
There’s armor made by nautical mart that looks like this. But it seems to be better quality
yeah, ive seen that, i believe it is according to a few videos i watched about it
yes, NauticalMart armor are custom made and fully articulated.
Isnt that the armour that demo ranch bout?
not sure
I can tell you that because the weight wasn’t on your waist. That’s why your friend was sweating so much, because it would be far lighter and easier to wear with a tapering waist.
Thank you, I think that would help the figure too 💃
@@TheDukeTMOfficial, yep. And damn, that armor looked so uncomfortable to wear and get on.
@@Cru128 💯 horrible! 10/10 would not recommend
@@TheDukeTMOfficial, oh yeah, which seller did you get it from exactly?
@@Cru128 sorry man, i dont know that😅
I ponder that those days armor have many so little, (medival age of knight whose average height is approximetely 167cm) therefore, these fit asian people rather than western tall people
Bruh you need padding lol. You don’t use that tiling or whatever. You need a gambison which is a padded coat and padded trousers time period appropriate and the the foot armour should be fitted with padding on the inside tbh. As for the helmet you should have a pad cap and then historically a coif which is basically chainmail that goes on the head and along the shoulders for extra protection and then the helmet. I do knights Templar so I would know. I also do Roman centurion so I know my way around the padding, armour and weaponry. The armour you have there is good and as long as you get the padding it should be fine.
Erm, as a reenactor you should know better than to say stuff like this. For starters, no, the armor here is not good, no matter what period the impression is meant to belong to. For a late Medieval plate harness, one would want an aketon (no, not synonymous with a gambeson) or an arming doublet, a gambeson is much too thick to wear comfortably and ahistorical. Likewise, the leg protection shouldn’t be quite so padded as it was in the 13th-14th centuries. Over that would be either a mail haubergeon or perhaps just sleeves + a skirt as well as either mail chausses or just nothing, if the plate protection is adequate. A padded coif and mail coif are unneeded, a proper late Medieval helmet (not a great helm like this) would have integral padding, I’d imagine all you’d wear would be an unpadded arming cap and perhaps an aventail, depending on your helmet. As for a classic Templar….nothing here, not even the misshapen helmet, fits. A properly outfitted Templar, even at the turn of the 14th century and approaching the dissolution of the order in 1312, would have little to no plate armor, save for his helmet, which would likely be a great helm or something like nasal helm, depending on his, erm, economic status. Perhaps he might have early plate limb protection or even a coat of plates, but typically he’d have a hauberk under a surcoat, and not much else (save an aketon and his undergarments).
Damn thats heavy for bad quality armour!! My HMB quality armour (The actual fighting combat sport) weights around the same, I would have thought your armour would be light
Not at all, its a painful heavy set of useless armor lol
Did you try modifying it
yes, but its mostly the design of the armor thats flawed, which we can't fix
The Duke™ yeah that does happen time to time did you try gothic type armor?
Wolf Shogun47 no, though we did consider getting a set
Nice Video bros! Welcome to the Medieval Club. Next time, don't buy armor from Amazon.
Thank you!!! I wont lmao, next time im buying from Wish 😛
Looks like a robot character out of a 1970s-1990s Japanese giant monster battle TV series.
🤣
Buying a full set of armor is a chad move
Thanks
How tall are you?
Well, I’m 5’10” and a half, which you would round up to 5’11” and lets be real, no one is 5’11” so we round that up to 6’0” and since you cant have your height end in 0 we’ll take that to 6’1” BUT 6’1” seems a bit pretentious, lets say 6’2”
