“ I’m thinking of trying it again “. Best customer response for a recovery company. 🤣😎💪❤️
Well this customer read "suburban" on his car so thought of wide asphalt, white picket fences, freshly mowed lawns, spacious family homes, and giant rocks in a sandy desert.
It is time for you to get a camera for " peanut "
"PeanutCam" ™, patent pending
I second this ❤
@@wheelmanruss4620 more like " the adventures of Peanut "
Peanut Cam. That's a good idea!
Great idea! PeanutCam. I love it
I love that Matt encouraged the guy to try the hill again.
Gotta redeem yourself!
With the wrecker there it’s the best time for retry.
Yes, that was great. It looked like that was the bottom of a bowl, so he was going to have to go up a sandy hill somewhere to get out. Just a mater of it was under his own power or if he was pulled.
Gotta remember Matt is an off-roader too! I imagine he loves watching people beat on their own equipment 😂
Yup. Gotta get right back on the horse again, as my mother used to say. Also, it's good business sense. If they keep off-roading, they'll probably get stuck again.
Matt: If you are in "the seat" YOU must give the weather. Rhett is busy driving. 😁
Couldn't like it quick enough.
PS. I love that you are letting all the team pilot the wrecker. Good experience for when you retire.
But he's busy filming. They should have made Lady do the weather report. How's the weather today? Ruff!
I said the same thing
@@SkorpychanThat's "Ruff°F"/"Woof°C"
I remember being amazed watching Monster Trucks with rear steer for the first time in the 80s. Really cool feature.
Grave Digger was my favourite! I used to borrow the Bigfoot VHS from the library every week. Amazing how many cigarette ads they were in lol
Fun recoveries! Matt: "pick up your trash people." Yes -- thank you Matt!
doesn’t Matt need THE TrailMater trashbag!!!!
@@OShaughnessysPub I think that he has one it isn't in plain sight !
That would be an opportune time to change the oil and grease the front of the suburban. I knew a logger that rolled his skidder once. First thing he did was start greasing the parts he had trouble reaching when it was up on it's wheels.
Must have been an old Iron Mule otherwise most others can be sat underneath.
I found a vac truck bottoms up in the ditch , the driver was chilling out greasing drive shafts waiting to get rolled back over 😂
That's cuz loggers are SMART
That suburban owner is awesome! I’m going to try the hill again lol.
Of course it might have been good to actually close the driver's door all the way. 😬 I wonder if he put his seat belt on. He was flyin' up that hill! A hill that the Wrecker couldn't climb.
@@drgruber57 The wrecker stalled out on a much much steeper hill off to the side, then went up the one the Suburban did.
‘Twas a nice rally
Matt has come a long way since the days when he didn't think he needed a winch.
Yeah, he was almost "anti-winch" he always had Casey come use his.
What ever happen to Casey helping him out
i remember that 😂
Nice day with Jaime...
@@joeymaxwell2179 Casey is up in Oregon with his own KZhead channel now. Search for Casey LaDelle.
Didn't think the rear steer would end up being cooler than I initially thought but seeing how it works (and how versatile it can be) makes it even cooler than just "the wrecker can rear steer." Very cool, thanks for showing it off!
As a software developer, I really like how you implemented the rear steering. The fact it auto centers (so you don't have to guess where to go back to), but also you can disable it (and grip is a good design for controlling it)
As someone who lives in reality. Any day, at any moment, it can fail, it could have failed in any of the precarious situations he has had it in. Anyone who entrusts their lives to software have very little life experience and/or faulty mind software. Yes, mechanical things can fail but there is usually some kind of warning or failsafe. As a builder for 33yrs, keep your software out of machines, keep it in your video games and toys. People are messed up or gone everyday because electronics are unpredictable. Next time you are screaming down the highway with your kids in the car, ask yourself, "what guarantee do I have that all the safety features will work as claimed? Will the airbags actually work at the right moment, or right setting?" Everyday more people regret trusting electronics, and would give it up to have loved ones back. My advice, get out of the software game to keep that red liquid off your hands
@@elijahmiller912 what a weird way to say you're a Luddite
@@elijahmiller912 you're acting as if software cannot/doesn't have fail-safes either. You claim to be a builder and hate software in your tools. So you're a hammer/screw driver only typa guy then.
@@elijahmiller912 lol ... hope your are diving a pre 1970 vehicle then.
@@elijahmiller912 lol, yeah smarty pants try that in ANY factory. You are so disconnected with reality it's hilarious!
Matt's recovery to the rescue of a Suburban and a SXS. Nice to see Jaymie she loves driving the big wrecker! beautiful scenery and deer! Rhett is getting his teeth cut on the big wrecker. Good job team!
Glad to see man try and conquer the hill the second time. Its always good to see Jamie out with you on recoverys.
So cool Rhett is driving the wrecker!! Matt, I love your style of teaching the next generation ✌
It is like a hippo ballet dancing!
You guys are good at what you do. I love how this is a family channel with different people driving the wrecker
The heavy wrecker is awesome, as we all know. But,!! Now it’s time to build the off-road rotator!! 💪🤠
Hmm spud truck.
The suburban boys are like the Cherokee boys they always send it
He sounded like a redneck hillbilly when he said 'I appreciate you too'.
"Tank to a knife fight !!! " Sorry Matt I will have to steal that one 😂😂
Now I know how the rear steer works, thanks for the demonstration Matt.
Hello. I'm very impressed of the wrecker, and it's also impressing how you made all the recoveries before you hade built up the wrecker, and at last but not the least, the most impressing might be that this vehicle is self built, which I think is the most impressing. Thanks for your review. Best Regards Arne from Norway
Matt is a genius with creating the ability to self center or disable that for rear steer.
genius by following what other have already done prior.
MORR on Matt is a real genius,😂 I believe he invented it and designed it, probably with genius Rudy's help. 😂😂😂
@@theuglytruth8162 I think the real genius was in making a yellow rope $100 better than a red one.
It is good to see everyone getting comfortable with driving the wrecker.
That rear stear is very smart and handy. Never knew it would work like that.
Thanks, Matt, for allowing your two boys to get their feet wet in the business. I know Rudy already has his baptism into it.
I was always curious how the rear steer worked. Thanks for showing us! The wrecker is a BEAST
Wait thats how people describe me… a large rolling piece of art and not that functional 😂
Matt not that my opinion matters but I must say you are a very special man. I love that you give your sons the opportunity to do and learn all while you are there to support them. You seem to be the same way with your crew as well. Great method of teaching them to all succeed in everything they do. Great job and even your beautiful wife gets to drive at times too. Now you will be even more special when you let Lady and Peanut try their paws at driving. Lol. Even your dogs are awesome and so very loving. You are awesome Matt. I hope to stop by one day and meet you in person Thank you for all the awesome content Aloha
Greetings from Colorado! Good to see that the kids have grown and are driving and helping you. God bless you all!
I worked in a shipyard in Alabama in the 70's and we had 2 Pettibone hydraulic cranes with rear steer. You selected either tight or normal or skew (crab) and both were controlled simultaneously. The big one could lift 15 tons. Had outriggers of course.
I think the show is better getting back to the roots with just you and your sons. I have learned so much from you Matt. From basics of recovery to following your builds.
That thumbnail is gold, man. Thankful for these psycho vehicle positions. (As long as everyone is safe of course, take care out there, 4x4 friends)
Everybody loves to pilot The Wrecker! Except Jefe, he thinks it wants to wreck him. 😮 Matt should help Jefe overcome his worries by sitting him behind the wheel until he loves this beautiful monster like everyone else does. 😊
rear steer is like a light sabre, an elegant weapon. What a gem :)
It's great to see Matt letting the boys (and Jamie) drive the wrecker. Lets you know they are part of the business.
It was great seeing the Chevy being able to finish his climb.
Water dogs! Many have returned in many regions of the world with the retreat of snow and arrival of rains. Be on the look out today in your neighborhoods and passenger seats.
You got them out as always !! Love seeing Jami !! I LOVE YOU ALL @ M.O.R.R. !!!!
Matt, “Help just a little bit” Customer, “I shall be bouncing valves”
WHAT?!!! 50º?!!!! It's 9am in Texas and we are already up to 100º!!!! Not fair. hahahaha
Lol what? As of 9:08am the highest temp in TX is 82°, and it's 75° in central Texas where I am.
@@dahvay I’m at the US/Mex border.
@@israelgalindo6600 that's where it was 82° when I replied earlier, down in the RGV area. It's definitely warmer and humid today, though.
Idk what part of TX and US/Mexico border you're at, but I'm in El Paso, and it's 72°. I am not ready for those triple digits!!
@@valeriita I agree! We don't need another summer like we had last year.
Wow so impressive 👏 Didn't think you could get them out, that's the most stuck i have ever seen anyone, amazing the great knowledge and experience, the only team that could of possibly done it.👍
Gotta love Peanut wallowing in the muddy sand. ❤ Great episode and wakes up my day with a smile! Luv you guys. More on Jaime's Lavendervaire...
I love seeing this truck in particular each video 😅 So badly I feel like it should only be used 😂
The tow truck is just idling along and the side by side is all spinning the wheels 😂😂😂 those tires on that tow truck are a beast.
I love that wrecker!! I used to drive an old wrecker with a sling. I miss and loved that truck. The most favorite job I ever had.
Love the channel Matt, your videos are always something I look forward to watching. You made me get back into 4x4ing, just got a new wrangler to go explore my section of Idaho.
Thank you Matt and crew for the adventure and seeing how the rear wheel steering works on the wrecker ! When I was in the military stationed at Minot AFB in North Dakota ! We had a big tractor with rear wheel steering to use it there was a lever like a floor shifter you push it one way or pull it toward you to go the other way ! I sure had a lot fun driving thankfully I never got caught having fun ! Because a few times it was against safety regulations on the base !
Matt in the few months I’ve been watching you, your family & team, you’ve already been an influence on my education in towing and I’m a trucker, not a towing operator and I’ve had the pleasure of using what I’ve learned this past winter to help a couple people in my travels. Also I’m amazed by your influence in your respective industry by how many folks are using your truck as a base line to their builds. You’ve created such a positive impact in your field,it’s just mind blowing to see others are aiming for bigger & better .Well done sir and thank you for the opportunity to learn more about something I enjoy.
Love seeing the wrecker at work, such a beautiful piece of art.
Rhett’s a cool dude. He’s younger than all my kids, but I can still call it. More time with Rhett!
Keep up with the good work Matt an team love watching you on KZhead god bless
Great video!! I really enjoyed the guy trying the hill again. That was awesome! Rhett is constantly becoming more and more adept at the rescue business!! Always a pleasure to see Jaymie along on the jobs too! What's a little mud in the eye?!! LOL!!
Love the rear steer demo.
Love that crab steer. I have in the past ran Pettibone HD forklifts with that capability.
That rear steer is awesome! Thanks for the lesson!
I love the "Back to Basics" videos. And thank you for bringing us along.
Really surprised they didn't just pick up the side by side with the boom because it was so DEEP
Jamie - the grin about the mud was just awesome. Very glad to see you having fun.
Thanks so much for explaining and demoing the rear steer.
Don't offroad drivers take shovels with them? I would never venture out without one back in the 70s. Of course , we didn't have Matt's back then...
I always carried a shovel in my CJ in the 70s. If I got high centered I would jack it up and put rocks under it until it was high enough to drive off. I think some of Matt’s customers could do that and not need to call for help. I live in Colorado.
I really like it when You pick up trash for others…. That’s builds hope and learning. Thank You
Great job Rhett and Jamie and Matt. 🤙😎
The wrecker is a beast !
The Ukes (tow tractors ) we used to move large aircraft, had coordinated, crab or front wheel steering. Each function had its time and place during a tow.
It's nice to see Elliot from E.T. is doing well and enjoying some four wheeling!
Thanks for explaining the rear steer. Off road wrecker dressage should be a new sport, lol.
As always... Another Awesome 👏 JERB...!! You'all ROCK.
I was wondering about the steering myself!! Thank YOU! "Blessings"
Spring snow is fun to drive in until it isn’t. Thanks for sharing the adventure 👍
U R very blessed Matt & Jamie , thank U !
Rhett is always a star when asked to perform, and in my opinion, never acts like he has all of the answers. A pleasure to watch.
I love the crab walks...I hate the crab runs...I've had them!..haha
"I love to drive the wrecker" said no woman ever.... except Jamie. Jamie is amazing. This whole crew is amazing. I have learned so much from this channel.
0:08 hey, that's not the weather seat!
That rearsteer is just so damn smart really good build.
A man, his boy, his dog, in his 4xwheeler…. Best day at work ever!
Jamie is such a sweetheart! Your a lucky man Matt! Rhett is becoming "One" with the wrecker! The wrecker is a masterpiece of engineering! Thanks for the video!
What a blessing to have the opportunity to work with your sons.
One of these days, you're going to have to build the cycle fenders for the WLORW!!!
I LOVE the wrecker animation between transitions
I think it's awesome that your sons are getting more involved, really enjoy seeing you guys work together
I've been waiting for a nice long piece of footage of it crab walking! Ahhhhhh...so satisfying! I feel much better now. 😁
It was so good to see you two together having a nice day and I loved seeing how you have become a very competent driver, Jamie. Congratulations! I also love the way Matt is a natural born teacher. Your positive, encouraging, and laid-back way with your family, your team and your real local community and then us your you tube it is really fun to watch and educational almost all of the time. Well done, Matt! And a big thank you to all of you. I just really enjoy seeing how well you seem to juggle family, work your local community and people like me your KZhead family. community. You have inspired me. The first you tube I ever watched; you caught me! It may have been your first Prius video from a couple of years ago. I You took your Prius where??? I felt for the woman, but she seemed kind of clueless. You basically had to build her a rock path and although I am very different from her. i.e., I would have been collecting the rocks and helping and learning from you, But.... though I thought that about her, and I had judged her, the ironic part was I was guilty of doing the same thing really, just my own version. difference And I thought, no one knows I am out here, I am totally at risk for some car misadventure and the worst part is I am a 68 year old and I have a husband in hospice (which is why I have to go to remote places with Just Jarvis my dog) Yes I am traveling with a 95 pound , reactive but sweet hearted dog and I had such a humbling moment. Because I live in New Mexico. And even though I know that you came through Santa Fe to get to Espanola to do a job, there is no local or regional, off-road recovery here at all that I can tell. Do you know anything different? Boy I would have been so excited seeing you rolling by, but the reality is, I could never afford you to come save me. So, I came off that pensive trip where I knew that I had been VERY foolish and saw my first Matts Off Road video and got inspired again. Sold my car. Just for the record I am sometimes guilty of over confidence in myself, which is about the entire content of the people that you recover . Just saying.... Anyway, I now have a 1993 Mitsubishi Delica 4x4 diesel standard micro camper right hand drive, which I love for a variety of reasons, but it's really the wrong car for someone who doesn't know how to fix it. I have absolutely no business owning something so specialized, but I have a sentimental attachment. It. reminds me of family camping trips in the Western Australia's outback. Parts of the Kimberly range would remind you of Utah by the way, I still want to take it out on a few safer but off road semi remote trips before I get something that stops worrying my friends and family. I would love to drive some of the area around you and I would love to come by and show off my unique and cute Dela Cruise....the Delica, I think you might appreciate it. And any suggestions you might have about camping, in places that make sense, so I don't ever need to be recovered, would be appreciated. I don't have any travel plans just yet, but I am planning to drive to Washington at some point and I would love to be able to have even a quick hello. Is that even a possibility now that you have so many people that want a bit of your time? I understand if the answer is no... but I hope that you may consider it.:) All this to simply say, thank you. What you do is a real service and it's so much more than just rebuilding cars, or recovering vehicles, or even putting on the Games...it's just for being funny, kind and disaffected (a rare thing on KZhead).! Cheers! Deb Dennison
my sister had a Honda Prelude back in the 90s that had 4 wheel steer. The rear wheels didn't steer that much, but it did make a difference. At low speed, the rear wheels turned in the opposite direction as the front for easier maneuvering and parking. At high speed, the rear wheels turned in the direction of the front, so you could crab walk from lane to lane! Fun little car!
Great recoveries!! Watch out Jaimie doesn’t steal that wrecker and turn it into a grocery getter! That rear steer will get her into some tight parking spots at the grocery store!
Just got to love the southwest 70 degree and finding snow
It appears MORR has found its way back to filming recoveries and fewer fabs. OG MORR was recoveries, scenary, music, and dogs. Bravo.
Four years now with the same schedule. Wednesday and Friday are recovery videos. Sunday is shop build. Three videos a week, every week. Thanks for watching!
Rett is a natural with that rear steer !
I appreciate the demonstration of the rear steer; that's the coolest goddamn truck I've seen
We've seen an abundance of trips the wrecker took that it wouldn't have made it without the rear steer. Very cool!!
Hey Matt It was nice explaining about the rear steering.
No footage of blue steel? No maverick stop? No coverage of MEAL TEAM SIX cooking delicious lunch in the field? Ribs on the hitch mounted propane grill ? Mac Bacon casserole on the muffler? BBQ beans on the side
Might I make a suggestion, with some clever wiring and maybe swapping out the switches for some double pole / double throw switches, you could add a function to the momentary "rear steer hold" switch. As it stands now, it only turns auto centre off. The toggle switch on the dash ALSO turns it off. But that dash toggle switch COULD change the function of the momentary trigger from "turn auto steer off" to "turn auto steer on". Practically, the system would function like it already does, except when auto steer is toggled off on the dash, that momentary switch could be pressed to temporarily engage auto centre. The most basic way is to use switches with two positions (on and off) but with three connections, common, normally open and normally closed. Connect power to the common of one switch, the auto centre power to the common of the other switch and then connect the normally open and normally closed of both switches together.
I’m trying to imagine the scenario where this would be beneficial. Virtually 100% of the time, when you are ready for it to return to center, you are done with the maneuver.
The wrecker making everything look easy. Still fun to watch though
Hell of a build on that thing, Matt. Love to see it work.
When harbor freight rates their winch it is on the first spool. When Warn rates their winch it is on a full spool. That's why warn winches seem so much stronger. It's cuz they are. They also use less battery power and are quieter. I gave away my apex and put my warn back on. Because when your life depends on it, you want the best most reliable... Great video!!
Am not sure if I like watching the recovery better or Matt working in the shop but either way I enjoy watching them
A hose reeler would be a nice addition to the wrecker for those heavy duty recovery ropes
Another excellent video, a great way to start my day. Thanks!
My Rc crawlers have had 4 mode rear steer for years. It's cool they have them on full scale now
