That three or four seconds of Cyrax jumping on the table while Two Telephone Calls and an Air Raid kicks in is literally the best part of the entire movie lol.

Jax in 2:48 I remember everyone in theater was cheering, I loved this version of Jax, he made it fun but became mature at the end. This whole fight scene is what made this movie honestly.
Honestly, Sonya and Jax were the best part of this movie. The fights, the banter, you definitely got partner vibes from them. While I think this movie was... not great, these two will always be something that I will tout as a positive.
I challenge that statement, i think that the worst lines in this movie are the best lines. This movie is so cheesy that it aged great.

One thing I must give this movie credit for; it made me become a fan of Cyrax. He’s my favorite MK character to this day. I had gotten MK3 months before Annihilation came out; and merely remembered Cyrax as one of the newer characters I barely played with. But I definitely believe his moments were the best part of this movie. I started familiarizing myself more with Cyrax after watching MK Annihilation
His entrance is massive 💯
Cyrax is one of my favorite characters since it came out. And seeing him in this movie made him more of a badass.
I always liked how they fit in Sonya's fatality (Fire Kiss).

Funny enough, Sektor is in the movie. The robot ninja the have come in for the sub-zero fight was supposed to be Sektor (hence the chest rocket that shoots out), but for some reason they color swapped him to be Smoke at the last minute.

This movie may be full of shotty special effects but this scene is crisp as hell. The colors, camera movements, choreography, costumes… it all looks so clean.
The new "movie" makes me appreciate Annihilation so much more now.

I agree. I love all Sonya's fight scenes, especially using her standing split kicks. This perfectly showcases Sonya's gymnastics! These are my most favourite fight scenes in the whole movie...and right into the Kiss of Death. 🏅
Don't forget too what Cyrax's Net did to one of Shao Kahn's exterminators.

I don't understand why people talk so badly about this movie, it has the best fights in a mortal kombat movie, even better than the first and the reboot, it's more faithful to the characters besides the fact that almost all of them appear in a single movie. Ken Masters she didn’t even had any fighting skills whatsoever...this one has the looks and has martial arts experience, so no this Sonya was 10 times better.
Bridgette Wilson looked and acted more the part, but lacked the fighting skills. Sandra Hess strikes a nice balance between the 2.
Little known fact: The guy that played Jax is actually one of the American Gladiators on NBC he did a decent job considering hes not an actor

I like this movie. It was my favorite MK movie growing up, because it had a lot of characters, and they were all very well depicted for the time. I grew up through the Genesis and SNES era, Gaming Magazines and Cartridges for Rent were still a thing, so any live-action adaptation were a reason to celebrate. Good ol' times. 😢

I liked every minute of this movie. Sure, realistically it sucked but, hey, it was about MK and a was a 10 year old MK fan. Enough of a reason for me to put a blind eye on its flaws.
It was an amazing MK movie for 10 year old fans back then, to the point that nostalgia still allows us to enjoy it today. Not even power rangers is saved as much by nostalgia.
Compared to most game-based movies that came after this, it's an absolutely ok film.
I love this movie as well. The costume is on point! And yeah, it ain't perfect, but it was perfect for me when the time it was out, especially when I was in my teen

I also love how NRS finally gave Jax a design modeled after the one he wears in this movie. In MKX, the clothes he wears are similar to the movie. Albeit, it is colorful at opposed to generic black.
You could tell the actor playing Jax knew not to take his performance too seriously and probably had fun with it.

Ah cyrax, hands down my all time favorite MKIII character. I swear I mastered him down to a science. You'd be amazed how useful his net actually is when you figure out how to fire it at precisely the right times to negate an enemies block. That and the bevy of other odd ball techniques that to most players seem useless but actually are stupidly overpowered once you figure out he's the "Backwards" character in terms of controlling him.
And his grenades were legend. They never missed. Ever. And you could Multifire.
