I’m 16 and you have taught me everything i know, I’m about to paint my own truck, thank you for being such a good teacher!!
When I first saw this video, I was like hell yeah im gonna fix my bumper on my own. Then I kept watching it.. now I'm just gonna buy a new bumper
Just use the dolly's, bumper repair bag and spare donor bumper you have lying around. Totally DIY method.
Fix it and send to a paint shop once repair is done.
I'm thinking by the time the labor and materials are all done, it gonna cost the same as a new one anyways. Paint and clear is crazy GD expensive on its own!
Lmao 😂
Time is money
Best paint and bodywork repair channel on KZhead IMO.
Thank you for making this video. This video will help with the restoration of plastic bumpers not made anymore. Or a poor 16 yo kid wanting his ride to look better.
Cant even understand why people dislike a great video. You can't really tell if is a new bumper or not, fantastic job Brian 👍
Probably being haters. Lol
Probably insurance companies
Because it shouldn't have been titled DIY
Because it says DIY then he talks about using a painting booth, yea we all have one under the sink.
because it's probably cheaper to buy a new or used bumper then spend money on all those materials plus the labor.
Paint and Body guys are definitely modern-day artists. That's a great-looking repair!
Love your work Brian. I have slowly watched all of your videos and I’m impressed to know good auto body and painters are still out there doing phenomenal work
You are an amazing body/paint guy and I've learned a lot from you. I'm a third generation but not as good as yourself but I try. That back plate is solid repair. The best luck I've had is also stitching with a soldering iron besides what you do to give the adhesive more to bite to especially on high stress panels. Also another thing that will help with or without a paint booth for dust in a paint job especially for beginners is a ground whether a chain over an a arm or a clip on ground to a grounding rod. Keep up the amazing work.
Brian you the best autobody fixer on youtube. You very humble and good at teaching and you not promoting products like some other guys.
I learned that you will have absolutely NO competition from me ! Hahaha. Seriously I don't know how you guys do paint work. It's so hard. Mad respect!🙏
I always wondered how you could fix a hole in a bumper without plastic welding equipment, and thanks to your video, now I know.
Great video Brian! I have a 1988 Toyota MR2 and the rear bumper has a puncture. This is the kind of video that shows how you can keep and repair the OEM bumper cover instead of having to replace it. Keep up the great work! Always looking forward to new videos from you!
MR2 👍
Really liked this video Brian! Be interested to see more of the same nature (i.e panel beating, saving metal panels). Keep up the excellent videos!
Excellent teaching in laymen’s terms Keep up the great work!
Great job on bumper and video. I'm a backyard mechanic and this helped me tremendously. THANKS...
Brian, You blew me away on this one! You showed how talented you really are!
YOUR WORK IS A COMBINATION OF TRADITIONAL AND MODERN WORK METHODS... AM IN AFRICA AND THATS MY KJOB I LOVE THIS
Another great video, Brian. I've been using the 3M Easy Sand Multipurpose Repair Material 05887 for my bumper repairs and it has worked well. I haven't had to fix anything as big as that hole in that Honda bumper but it's been great for cracks and dents. I'll have to check out the Fusor stuff. Looks like it would be better for larger repairs. I agree with you on repairing bumpers where feasible. The cost of some of these bumpers, even non-CAPA certified aftermarket are astronomical (nearly $1000 for a 2014 Chevy Malibu Non-CAPA bumper with no grills). So I like to repair where I can. Keep up with the great content, brother. It's always a pleasure learning something new from you.
Thank you brian so much for making this video. I need to do the same repair on my is300. Very well explained video. Good job
Great work! That piece of 80grit went a long way.
U do awesome work, real master. I do drywall finishing. About to try body repair. Scratches. Then move on to dents. Your videos are teaching me alot, everyday.
Nice repair. Thanks for showing us how to save bumpers, it's a lot better than putting an ill-fitting aftermarket one on and having this one end up in a landfill.
You make it look easy. It does take the right tools, a lot craftsmanship and experience. Nice video.
im surprised the man hours cheaper to repair the bumper than just buy a new one. Looks great.
Brian you are simply the best teacher ever, awesome videos.
It is beyond DIY level, you are a pro!
THANKS!!!! You just saved me $1200! I would've had to pay for the front spoiler kit bumper but I'm gonna repair that thing myself thanks to you!
DIY? I could not do that in a thousand years. I will say you are a well-trained and talented repair artist. In 1972, I backed my Ford Pinto into something and bent the chrome bumper. I bought a new one over the parts counter at the Ford dealer for $22.00 and bolted it on. I preferred those days when repairs were do-able.
Great video! I would have to say for the average DIY in the yard this is likely a little much, but for someone who already has a few tools and some time it would be the most cost efficient route. I do find it hard to believe having that procedure done is a shop would be more cost efficient since i bet there is many hours involved with it.
Thanks for making the video and showing the products used. I recently repaired a cracked bumper with Fusor 101 50ml tube. Good stuff and no surface promoter needed.
Holy bumper that’s a great job!!!!!!!
Amazing work yet again! Love these videos man!
Great job Bryan as always. Your the Pros Pro.
Wow! You made that look easy and a great finish.
Congrats for thinking about repairing it, less waste is always better!
Thank you for the vid Brian, take care
New bumper isn’t always better, especially if it’s After market. I’ll take the repair over after market for sure. Great repair.
Superb job. An artistic talent and so much patience required, so whilst a great guide, probably a bit too advanced for DIY!
Swell guy u r Brian. u have fine teaching skills laced with a humble personality. Good 4 u, never lose it. I learned plenty, Thank you so much!
Great tutorial Brian! Great work! Thanx, J
Nice to see this video. I’ve had a hole in my Integra front bumper for about 13 years now. Just never got around to fixing it. Maybe now I can give it a try!
13 years is it even worth repairing
@@wrx111 OEM Integra bumpers are pretty scarce these days.
Amazing results, great job
This video and “Channel” is amazing. I actually learned something. Thx so much 👍🏻
"It'll hold your marriage together as well." Sometimes keeping things separate is better. LOL
🤣🤣 couldn't have said it better lol
Men need to return to the order of God and be the head of their wives. Nothing else will work. God in Christ, Christ in man, man over woman, women over children.
@@joe51av It takes two, equally. No one needs to be over anyone. Marriages only fail because people are spoiled and entitled and want to take no responsibility for their actions. And people always want to get married to someone they didn't take the time to get to know, later realizing "they're not happy."
LOL
If don't get married then I don't even need any glue.
Came out beautiful
Great tips and advise! It's only paint! But you have it tamed.
Best channel on KZhead hands down
Thanks for All your tips and tricks You teach great methods
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Most shop will just scrap the bumper due to the high cost of shop rates. They would just charge the insurance for a new bumper and spend a quarter of the time to gain a better margin.
Wow, awesome result!
This is pro level stuff! The auto repair shops Ive been do not attempt this,, they just order one from a junk yard, new OEM or lastly from the dealer.
Brian that was a awesome 👏 fantastic repair on that bumper every time I watch this channel I always learn new things Brian you make that bumper look 👀 like it came from the factory 🏭 new new new I can’t believe it wooow keep it up all the best in the next one ☝️ stay safe Brian respect ✊ man 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👑👑👑👑👑👑💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✊✊✊✊✊✊✊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊
Best autobody videos on the net....thanks man
Awesome video! You're the best man! Gave me alot of new ideas!
Chandler would be proud of your shaping
Wow lol I just repaired a 2016 Chevy volt bumper and then I watch overspray paint one and now you lol it’s bumper week lol! Great job bro and I was wondering when your next vid was coming! Keep them coming bro!!
Thanks Man! I got tons on the way
My mom got a hole in her front bumper from a trailer hitch. The hitch punched out a clean hole, and I believe it can be recovered. Labor hours probably wouldn’t be worth it normally, but am gonna try and plastic weld/mold it back into place. My main concern is actually painting it after the repair; it’s a 2012 Camaro so the paint on the rest of the car is somewhat faded. Also worry it might be a difficult color (28U) inferno orange. Edit; The Camaro was already a rebuilt title/lowest end model, so she’s not looking for perfection. However if I do it, I will try for it.
Wow! Super good and detailed work, bravo!
Thank you for all your videos, fantastic job!!!
Brian !!!... can I use the epoxy to fix the bumper mounting tab?
perfect!just perfect!
If this is my personal vehicle, then I would fix this bumper too because I don't have to worry about paying labor since I can do these repairs myself. I just have to purchase repair and refinish materials which shouldn't be outrageously expensive. That aside, it's a great video he put together covering the repair of plastic bumpers and a great outcome for the repair. If anything the video shows the skill he has as a body tech in performing these repairs. It's hard to find a good tech who churns out great work consistently. New oem bumper can be found online from about 250 to 350 bucks. Quick Google search can give you ballpark figures. It's like a 2016 honda accord coupe. You would have to know how many body hours were charged to fix the dent and then find out what labor rate is. Example, if body repair labor is 75.00/ hour and the customer was charged 4 hours of repair time, then that would be about 300.00 in body labor only, you still have to add the labor to remove and de-trim bumper, then labor time to to pay the refinish tech, then you have to also add money for paint materials. Even at 2 hours repair time for body man, repair can be pricey. I'm all for repairing bumpers when possible, but you do have to consider cost of replacing vs repairing. There's pros and cons for repairing/replacing bumper covers/sheet metal parts in general. Also, he knows it's cheaper to replace this front bumper, but he purposely chose to repair this bumper for his audience (us) so that we can learn more about the repairs done in this industry. Towards end he mentioned it was a used car so just maybe it was something bought at auction by dealer for resale. Used car dept usually gets some sort of internal rate for work done within house that's cheaper than rate set out for regular body shop work for customer vehicles.
Awesome, nice work, II hope many Bodyman out there learn how to repair a bumper , good job 👍
Great job man. Really good work.
Awesome repair!! On a first look I would have said replace it. Thank you and great video!
Yes i have lerne something Thank you professor
Absolutely amazing work. I'm noticing people saying they'd rather buy a new bumper, okay so let's work it out then, brand new bumper from dealership (dont forget these are not painted, only primed) prep, paint and labour from a detail shop, cost of vehicle storage and removal and fitting of bumper, looking at £2000 or more. So anybody feel its cheaper to buy a bumper go ahead, it's cheaper to repair or better still breakers yard if lucky to find a good one in the same colour
I agree. If it was aftermarket it would be worth it
@@PaintSociety it can be but theres sometimes the issue wether the aftermarket stuff fits, they're not 100% and still require some degree of detail work and time to get the proper fit
3m makes a really good stick on backer for bumper repairs works really good
We have it and it works great for something a touch smaller
awesome video, thank you for sharing
Brian! Oh man! That was truly thorough and impressive! I don't know where your shop is but would definitely recommend you!
I could have done that repair with acetone, packing peanuts and a can of Duplicolor. 🤣😂🤣 Very nice tutorial and well explained. 👍
Congrats on the subscribers brother nice work stay safe and God Bless
Thanks brotha!!!
I just witnessed two experts communicating on KZhead :)
Superb as always, keep them coming my friend.
Thank you for your advice job looks awesome
Do you have a video on how to find the correct color(s) for specific parts? Like, how do you go about find the correct colors to mix or color to use?
It looks like nothing happened and it is also the original bumper of the car, a professional job, good job
Another awesome video!!!
I'm so glad to subscribe this channel A lot of knowledge that i learned
Where ur location anyway? Maybe I will visit when I am in America I'm from Indonesia tho 🙂
Amazing work 👏..i like all the videos clear understanding 👍
wow this was amazing
So cool to see these techniques
Awesome work, looks great!
Great video. I'm not sure how many body shops would go that extra mile to add flex additive.
Another great video keep grinding to a million
The evercoat filler that you're using can you use with 2k primer over it and 2k paint? Is the evercoat compatible with 2k products? Thanks!
Love the vid. You may have just given me an idea to keep me busy.
🔥🔥🔥 learning every day 🙏🙏
always helpful, thank you!
Could you use the grid tape for drywall in place of the spare bumper piece for the epoxy to bind the hole?
How long would you recommend letting a bumper cure before installing?
Hey Brian, say I want to just repaint a bumper a different color and that it doesn’t need any repairs. Am I able to just sand the clear coat down with 800/1000 grit and spray on top of the clear coat? Or do I have to remove the clear and the base coat with 80/150 grit? Thank you in advance 🙏🏽
I always look forward to Paint Society video's. Superb job Brian. When are you going to teach us about stone chips?
Just wow🤟
I usually just like to swap them out but I'm in a spot right now with a golf bumper where I can't get one rightnow without paying like 300 usd just for the shipping not counting bumper cost so I might give this a go. Also saw your one with the plastic welding seems interesting
Can you make a video on how to setup a home compressor to work with these kinds of guns
Hi I'm watching here in Riyadh I love what you did
top job again mate 👏 👌 👍
Great video, very informative. I think this is a tick or two above DIY though. I think in some cases you can probably get a new bumper already painted from an online source for what you will pay to get setup to do this job. Scales, applicators, paint guns, orbital sanders, all the chemicals. At the end of the day you might still have a fairly poorly painted bumper while you learn to control paint spray which not everyone is good at or has the proper air system to run. A lot of little things here that don't imply DIY if you're not already setup with the tools needed.
Now THAT was amazing...........................................................
