The height of Q popularity was during the Trump administration, and the effect of the messaging was the building of a large following of conspiracy theory enthusiasts, and also a quelling of Trump supporter concerns over him not fulfilling any major campaign promises (other than tax cuts), as these people never got anything done. Their "trust the plan" slogan diverted Trump supporter criticism and relieved pressure on Trump to follow through on his controversial 2016 campaign promises. This has led to some to believe in another conspiracy theory, that some conspiracy theories are spread in order to prevent any action on anything real being taken. Debates about the physics of steel beams, bullet trajectories, and demonic forces displace and discredit-by-association debate about who is responsible, who benefitted, and who are complicit.

  • I remember watching Curious George when I was younger, the movie was a work of art. This too as well, is a work of art. Not in the literal animation. But seeing George on his deathbed, giving some of the best advice ever, with "Upside-Down" playing in the back, brings a tear to my eye. Keep doing good work like this Joel Haver!

  • The way you weave comedy, deep emotions, and the news cycle here is truly artful. Mad respect. Also, my cat was killed by third stage curiosity, so this hits.

    • it hits even harder if somebody's cat was killed by that same somebody's curiosity. he will never be forgotten. so sad, and so cruelly unfair, that something's gotta die for something else to grow up and stop being an asshole.
