  • For those worrying about the jellyfish at the end of the video don’t worry. Those jellyfish are the sole inhabitants of a lake in central or South America and have devolved their sting to the point of being harmless. They feed on the microorganisms in the water so they don’t need their venom

  • As a bio student, the human eggs clip was actually really cool! The eggs were surprisingly bigger than I imagined, mostly due to having to work with things smaller than what the naked eye can see. Very cool!

    • No. You're bedridden for days every month because of the lining that comes with said egg being absorbed back into your body. This adaptation allows humans to ovulate more frequently, and thus have children at any point in the year instead of a dedicated mating season, so a woman who wants to have a baby has ~12 chances per year instead of ~1. At least, if I remember my biology correctly. Imagine the pressure your biological clock would have if you only got one shot at kids each year on top of the menopause deadline.
