About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

  • I think Tony is the hero of this channel. The amount that he has achieved in the cottage with Traceys help is astounding.

    • I completely agree. I’m missing him. Nothing against Terry who took over the page I just miss Tony and Tracy’s way of talking to the camera and an eye for what we would find interesting. I wish in the videos about the cottage you would give Tony back the camera 🎥 and not you doing a interview that an come off as forced banter. Give Tony back the control over the cottage or have him begin his own page because I would definitely watch him and your mom.

  • Don’t forget to hide a few letters from you to the house. Tell her what it was that made you love her and who all is there helping restore her beauty. Put it in a bottle or jar with other items; like a piece of original wall paper from the room and in the future someone will find it. Kinda like a time capsule. It will be a piece of history… do it in the cottage too.

  • Excellent work lads and lass. Get yourselves a bucket chute to get all debris down to ground. Simply chuck the chute out a window of the room you're working in and toss everything down it. They're so lightweight now it's easy to pull up and move to the next window. Someone else mentioned an electric winch. That's a great idea. Even if you may not find one to reach the top, two less costly winches, moving the load from one to the other halfway up, would certainly speed things up for bit. Not to worry, you'll still be gettin in your steps. With a chute, nobody runs the risk of a grossly over developed bum. Lol Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Cheers!

  • Great news! It takes a lot to do a video on top of everything else. On the snake, it’s probably a rat snake or a racer going by the skin rather from a dead snake. He’s been eating whatever mice or other rodents it finds in the walls. I’m sure you know that’s just a shed skin. As for the egg, snakes don’t carry things in their mouths. It would have swallowed it whole then just squeezed with its muscles to break the shell before moving on. Snakes swallow everything in place instead of moving it elsewhere. You’re more likely to find there was a larger bird that laid that egg. I’d lean toward it being laid in a nest that fell down inside. Possibly an owl. If it’s empty it would have been there a very long time. Evaporation happens very slowly but it does happen through the shell. It’s not unlikely for a snake to hang around a place where a nest is because they do like to eat eggs and chicks. An egg is a heavy thing for any local animal to carry that high through the walls so it’s unlikely to have been carried by a rat or other climbers. The activity upstairs will undoubtedly drive the snake away. But they are very beneficial animals to have around your home.

  • Really enjoyed the vlog, might be an idea to invest, or hire one of those chutes from your rooms straight onto a trailer , you won’t need to keep going up and down flights of stairs

  • This project is so interesting. Love seeing the work and all the details. Some feedback on this episode, the music during the "montage" scenes was a little loud. Volume was great for the dialogue, but had to adjust down for the music. Even though it's GREAT music. :)

  • Thanks guys you are all doing a great job, but I do think you need a builders chute to get the rubbish down from the top. Carrying it in bags will wreck your bodies. Lana Australia

  • Loved the video. It’s great to see such rapid progress in the salon. Although I’m aware that a lot more work happened behind the scene. Well done everyone!

  • With the Patreon would you consider giving patrons a monthly update? Also don’t forget that (as far as I understand) you can get tax breaks in France re the patreon money spent on the building-like Stephanie Jarvis. Good Luck
