Kubota Hydraulic Cylinders Part 2: Machining New Rods & Welding the Rod Eyes

2021 ж. 14 Қыр.
141 516 Рет қаралды

This will be a 3 part series on rebuilding 4 Kubota hydraulic cylinders. All 4 of these cylinders are leaking oil, indicating the rod real is bad.In this second episode I receive all of the parts needed including the seals and chrome plated rod stock. We'll machine the two rods and get the eyes welded back onto them.

  • Adam is a benevolent machinist. Even though he’s on a much deserved vacation he has layed up machining content for us to enjoy while he’s away. Thanks Adam hope you’re having fun.

    • Putting up videos on KZhead is what pays his bills. When I head off to the factory early as hell in the morning, it is not benevolence that drives me there.

    • @@the_hate_inside1085 I think the point @1911wood is making is: Adam deserves a vacation, he worked overtime during his normal work time to create content for all of us during his absence. The question is do you head out to the factory earlier than you normal "early as hell" before a vacation to make sure the people around you are happy? I certainly do not...Adam strikes me as a guy that loves his followers and wants to continue giving us the content we have come to expect. Naturally, he is feeding the KZhead algorithm and earning money...I imagine if he would have posted nothing this week it would have had very little impact on his income.

    • @@mattparker6374 I don´t presume to know the motivations of someone I don't know personally. That is why I used my own experience as a baseline. This is the example given if you google benevolent: "(of an organization) serving a charitable rather than a profit-making purpose. "a benevolent fund" " Do you think a proper use of the word is to describe someone engaged in what is their full time payed profession?

I appreciate that Adam sticks with the measure twice and cut once philosophy. I watch some other channels where they apparently have never heard of doing a scratch pass for threading and it's usually on far larger much more expensive chunks of steel.
