She voice sounds thinner and and not as thick as her younger years. Not necessarily a bad thing. Most likely caused from weight loss and the latest time she damaged her voice.

Being able to sing live without a microphone and it sounding good really shows the person is a great singer, different microphones can have different sound quality and make a person's voice sound different, she really is one of the best singers of our generation.

We're talking nose job, boob job, cheek implants, ect.

It was in fact “unfashionable” to be too skinny which is why you can find adverts from that time that tell women how to gain weight. She didn't come as musical guest because she hasn't written anything new in years. Yes, she could have done these songs, but I don't know how common that is in SNL, if ever, to not do recent songs. It made more sense to get H.E.R., because she has new stuff. However, it'd be a travesty to have Adele host and to not have her sing, so I think giving her a sketch in which she sings her hits is a great idea.
