  • As the true scientist comes out from the depths, Claus once again becomes absorbed in a subject matter totally unrelated to the pixel battle at hand. The only thing that may segue into the video is that the ladybug is a fully armored creature that moves rather slowly until its propulsion unit is kicked in and then it moves out smartly. Similar to the rocket assist on the Chinese units. We cannot exclude the unique camo job the ladybug presents also. Something akin to a miniature pumpkin with mold splotches.

  • There is a gap in the current theory of evolution, the word RANDOM in Darwin theory seems to be wrong. Thru some process that we do not know the amino acids do not combine randomly when creating mutations so evolution can "speed up" sometimes, that would explain the variety of species after the Cambrian explosion or adaptations that are temporarily disadvantage.... Either that or we live in a simulation and someone bought the Ladybug 2.0 premium package.

  • We all know that ladybugs were on the ships that brought the humans to earth. The aphids were eating the flowers in the Captain's cabin. The First Mate brought along the ladybugs to eat the aphids so the Captain would be in a better mood. When the humans were dumped on Earth the crew threw out some of the dead plants and the ladybugs that were feasting on them. At least it wasn't the planet in Alpha Centauri where the ladybugs were irradiated and mutated into giant winged predators that took over the planet!

  • In the beginning of life, bacteria just floated around without a care in the world... Laziness was born The some bacteria in the back got bored and asked: Are we there yet? Boredom was born Some bacteria started to get impatient and began to move forward... Road rage was born Unable to think or find their way, groups of bacteria split of to the right, left, up, down or toward the noise... The male incompetency to find their way was definitely invented at that time... The bacteria groups who sought the light found the Sun and the noise seekers found the beaches... That lead to the invention of Oxygen and building of bacteria colonies... Air fresheners was born At some point some greedy bacteria got hungry and ate his neighbor... Instant food was born... Regular peace loving bacteria got kind of worried and thought: We need protection. Let's build a wall... So bacteria got thicker and thicker walls, with less and less room for growth... Hey Teacher. Break down the wall... Bacteria with walls was now Cells with various bacteria inside producing nourishment... Let life evolve... Again... My point is: No matter how evolved we Humans will become, some life is still just bacteria waiting to evolve...

  • Hi Claus, maybe the ladybug came from something that had 2 sets of wings, and the ones where the outer set of wings were a little stiffer than the inner set got some measure of protection from them, and the ones that didn't flap the outer set around so much didn't waste as much energy as those that did, and so over time the outer set became solid and did not flap. Just a thought. I notice your hair has been doing a lot of evolving recently ;)

Second, great question about flying! When did each species that can fly know once not be able to fly? An adventure into finding the "missing links" of flying creatures to their non-flying ancestors? At what point did those species that couldn't fly, change to flying? Ladybug is a great example of one of these flying species we have now! Great battles, great questions to ponder, keep it up Claus! o7

  • What came before the ladybug was the ladybugs parents. Just because creatures have things that do not function does not prevent that creature from breeding and having a full life. We have a tail that does not function but we live perfectly full lives but tend not to use trees to spend those lives we use what we have without it to live perfectly well without the tree part. Ostriches have wings but are too heavy to fly but that does not stop them from having full lives. Animals are survival machines which have to live with the cards they are dealt. If the ladybugs wings and armour did not work it would use another strategy, that's what evolution is.

  • What came before the Ladybug? Some other bug that wasn't quite as great in all the ways that the ladybug is great. Or used the wing casings in a different way, etc It's like the argument that eyes are too perfect to have evolved, and yet when that 'creation science' arguing point came up, then a bunch of biologists displayed specimens that possessed eyes that were quite intermediate between the eyes we're used to seeing among the most advanced macro life like mammals, reptiles and amphibians and the most rudimentary light sensors of existing organisms. God of the gaps arguments and all that. Believe what any of you want to believe, it's up to you, it's your mind. Biology textbooks aren't holy books, you can reject the evidence if you choose to (when that evidence is findable or available, of course), but you might not be writing Nature or Science magazine articles in the future. But who'd want to be that nerdy anyway, amirite? Lol.
