I'm not Polish and neither can I speak Polish so there is no point in my leaving a comment regarding Polish pronunciations. Actually I shouldn't be leaving a comment at all but, I'm old and retired and have lots of time.

"WG making shit up" was confirmed by the Chinese rocket boosters
Ever since ANZ folded into Asia1 my ping is not good enough for this kind of gameplay, might as well be "World of Heavy Tanks". Sure distance vs penetration but not sure how distance vs potential damage works. I'm kinda shocked we have not seen Objects with perhaps half a dozen Katyushas mounted to the turret.
I could picture Katyusha trucks as a semi-mobile russian rapid firing arty...
WG making shit up is confirmed by fantasy performance of russian tanks in the game and alternative history presented in their "educational" materials.
I agree. We tend to think WG is actively giving deep thought and building analysis on new tank/lines based on anticipated effects, balance, etc, when much more likely, they are simply reacting like any business does --- what features will appeal to the customer, will encourage purchasing, and will allow another quarter's profit increase? This is rational profit-maximizing behavior. As a result, WG has fallen into the same trap we all have -- power creep as part of an arms race results in profits. The correction? Little tweak here, after the damage to balance, the mm, and the customer base is done.
I do think it is a real goal to make the battles finish quicker. More battles/hour means more items consumed, means more purchases using real money. Making tanks faster and do more damage also helps the battles end sooner. Finally, "loser" and "winner" special RNG to help make the battles end sooner. There is a reason close battles are rare.
"Błyskawica" in Polish means "lightning". You should pronounce it like "blyskavitsa" with a stress on the "i".
The correct pronunciation is BWYSKAVITZA. Ł=W, W=V and C=TZ.
AP and APCR doesn't explode as they have no explosive materiel in them. The damages they do depends on the velocity. The faster the more damage IN THE REAL WORLD
Ok Einstein
I often wonder, did the player base get bored and quit or did all these new mechanics frustrate them so they quit, for me it's the later. I had way more fun 10 years ago for many reasons. the game pace being one.
Hehehe, Dear mister Kellerman. I cannot remember that you every said any word in a foreign language correctly 😁

Real world physics? Destroy a tank by shooting holes in the little "Tumor" right on top of the turret?
Always makes me laugh too.
an AP round in wot is a solid shot (especially for smaller caliber weapons), there are no explosives (burst charge) in these rounds except for HE/HEAT/HESH. Wargaming are saying this new round, because of its size, the damage is determined solely from the KE it has once it penetrates. Damage in real life varies depending on what an AP round hits once it penetrates, modeled in wot as RNG. I'm assuming wot built a simple model and applied some adjustments but probably has some grounding in reality and as you say was likely meant to encourage close combat - their stats are probably telling them too many people at higher-tiers VIII-X are sitting back. This round could be closer to reality than the original AP model although 300-800dmg is a wide range.
In terms of (re)positioning, reaction, intuition where to go and what to do, I gotta say the first game was one of the best aggressive TD games I've seen in a very long time. Other than a few fluffed shots in the beginning against TP60/Badger, not sure what the player could have done better. Perfection.

The DD Blyskawicka was one of the most decorated ships of WWII.
you forgot to mention, if you snipe from distance using premium rounds, you are consequently spending more
Not played them yet but it certainly seems that WG want to encourage the reckless approach, quicker death quicker games. This is also why WG have modified all the maps so there is no chance to sit and snipe anymore (airfield, mountain pass etc). If you want to stop TDs from camping why not make them faster, cover them with EBR tires to make their armour work and then everyone can be like heavy tanks. Don't forget WG have form as in WOW sonar can travel faster or slower depending on which nation your ship belongs to, so they have never worried about physics before.
Great discussion today. Good games. Thanks Claus.
That badger camo in the first game was exactly the same color as the building he was hiding by.
Anyone else getting way more ghost shells than normal with the polish tds? Seen a few streamers mention it and it’s happened to me this past week quite a lot
Hi, Claus! Thank you for your work. I think that encouraging faster battles is just a side effect. WG is just feeding objects. This is the main purpose of all this. I understand why PREMIUM AMMO AVOIDER is missing today.. a lot of premium ammo spammed out there. Take care!
I do like the Polish sausages with bun and drink at Costco.
Then its not real polish. Its americanized
And once you learn the difference between a shell and a rocket you might want to reconsider that "an explosion is an explosion" thought. Oh and btw, it´s not the "explosion" damaging a tank when it gets shot. it´s usually a kind of penetrator or a focussed charge that kind of "cuts" through the armor. The "boom" part really doesn´t do much.
Shaped charge, not focussed [sic!]. And I challenge you to be in a tank when it's hit by a 15cm HE shell even if there's no penetration. To paraphrase the Chieftain: "It's a strong emotional experience".
@@azynkron I am heartbroken that my lack of specific terms in a language foreign to me offends your gentle soul. and to stay on the topic: it´s not the emotional experience of the crew that´s the subject, it´s damaging it.... Plus I never said that I´d want to be in ANYTHING that gets shot at. I prefer staying in one piece, thank you.
Muzzle velocity effects pen at longer distances.
Check out the shell velocity on the tier 10. I think I saw 2000 fps. That’s crazy fast and could really help in a hidden position.
Thanks Claus!
Wellll, with the exception of my ol' Honey zipping around....
I don't know. If speeding up the game is the goal this change could backfire. On snipermaps it will simply take longer for the super sniper-schnitzels to clear the field on the opposite side of the map.
I actually just palyed a tier 7/9 game, where when I spotted a chance to push a flank, ( panther) and just enough of the team spotted and fought to the death to give the right flank time to win. Sometimes the shit games turn out fun. ;)
what I was seeing was the scenario that over about 300 meters it goes instant ghost shell. So while they say "Get closer to do more damage" what they didn't say was "We need the games to go faster so that players will get off the server sooner. So, we'll make it where over XXX range the shell ceases to exist. They'll throw themselves away now!"
Hey Claus, Yes, overall, I agree that WG's primary goal is to create Power Creep to drive the purchase of and grind new tanks. This is accomplished by introducing new "features," whether they make sense or not. And this new Polish TD mechanic isn't-new, that is. WG has always said they want to limit the tanks and weapons to before the MBT era, meaning no APFSDS and/or depleted uranium tank rounds, ATGMs, thermal sights, stabilized gun systems, etc. So, the tank rounds in WoT fall into two categories: (A) Kinetic Penetrators - no explosive warhead, just punch through the armor (AP/APCR) or (B) Rounds using explosives in some manner - HE and HESH explode on the exterior of the tank and damage external tank devices or cause internal damage through spalling. They MAY penetrate thin armor and thus cause internal damage, but that's chancy. HEAT also used explosives to create a plasma jet intended to BURN through the armor. So your statement at 9.2 minutes was correct - type A rounds - kinetic penetrators DO lose effectiveness the farther they travel, which has always been the case, and type B rounds are range-independent because their destructive effect is triggered by impact. But your earlier thought was a bit off. If I fire a missile over large distances, well, even shorter battlefield ones, it will almost certainly NOT have a simple penetrator warhead but instead either a nuclear device or as much high explosive as the missile will handle. However, you might be interested in checking out an old Cold War-era idea called "Rods from God" and the reasons the idea was never advanced (although several Sci-Fi stories and video games did incorporate the idea).
I'm done with new lines. I was already at T7 in the czech line, so I continued to 10. The Japanese TDs , I got the premium one in a loot box. I do put cash in the game, but when my IS7 isn't competitive at times.....F it, I'll play my old T5,6,7 tanks. I sold a ton of tanks and consolidated my best crews in the tanks I enjoy.
That's what I did. I git rid of almost all Tech Tree Tanks and now play mostly premiums. Why should I grind all the way to tier 20 only to find its Shit compared to some Premium knockoff?
Standard shell: 1700m/s Premium shell: 2000m/s You forgot to check the *shell velocity* 💀😂
Standoff is your friend, but only if you can hit and penetrate the target.
The only reason for doing more damage the closer you are is if you use some sort of SABOT ammunition. The closer you are, the more speed is retained and hence, the amount of debris spread into the vehicle could theoretically be higher. Not sure what this Star shell or wtf it's called is supposed to be though.
Tier 8 Polish TD, the best of the bunch, especially for bouncing.
Wargaming mantra..."Hold my beer, watch this..."
Thank you
New Tank idea: The Armored Scout. It operates as an active scout with a weak gun but is fast and massively armored.
Bob Semple tank..............best premium.
You almost got the name pronounced right... Blyskawica sounds like "blis-ka-vi-tsa". It means "lightning" in Polish and everyone but people from Poland know that their language is definitely the strangest language on earth. (EDIT: I forgot to mention I spent 10 minutes researching this TD name via Google and even listened to the audio several times before writing my comment)
I have the tier 8 one and i really like the mechanic
TY🙏🙏
Is top secret rocket boosted shell. Speed increases over distance unless we decide otherwise. Is balanced.
are you still in the CC program Claus?
They missed their shot at recurring income - all premium tanks being rentable. You stop renting, the tank leaves the garage, you renew the rent, the tank (and its perks) remain.
having different damage at distance is just mucking about. Distance will affect armour penetration values of shells. Now if they had implemented that, it would have maybe been progress. But this is just change for the sake of change in their virtual world of make belief.
Have u checked out the Caliope? Holy OP!!
Told you, as a joke, that we will see gatling tanks... well, they are going in that direction with vz 71
"they just make it up" is most likely the right reason, with Yeri breathing down their necks to bring in new content. It's too bad they never took my idea that WoT team up with EvE online and have WoT fight the ground battles in a SiFi with no limit in what can make a tank. Different tanks for different planets. Anyway, I was laughed at in the comments, but I believe it could be a great idea if you had the right owner.
I tried to get some Polish TDs once, but her brother stopped me. No bullshit.
I like them. And its a good mechanic. Imagine getting sniped from over 500m for 250 dmg. You dont mind that, but every 11 seconds adds up. Can also brawl the heavies. Its a heviumstroyer.
Claus taking a cue from Wargaming with a new presentation mechanic. Showing new tanks from highest tier to lowest tier. Question is, how much thought did you put into it? Counter-intuitive information presentation technique while the stream of consciousness commentary remains consistent🤔😎👍......is balance.
bliskavi...C-a -strong armor when it was on test ..there was somthing with faster reload if bouncing 2 much .. not sure there were 2 many .. thats why they buy air fryers .ps super helcat was noise gift
I love regular ammo avoider!
How many more mechanics can Yuri introduce? Have to be close to the end?
yea! Enjoy your new Byslawica!
There were no Polish TDs in WW2. There were TKS tankettes, 7TP jw and dw, Renault FT17, Vickers E, Hotchkiss H35 and Renault R35. Being generous, the largest of these were equivalent to a very light medium tank.
What? You wanna say that there are tanks in this game that never existed in reality? That's a scandal! 😂😉
I bet you're fun at parties...
@@PorkusPie I am indeed. 😂
@@MDMARaver Claus made a brief mention of Polish TDs in WW2 as a basis for the new line. Listen to the video and you may catch it.
@@PorkusPieclearly not as fun as you with all your positivity!
In real life HE, HEAT and HESH do nearly exactly the same damage at any range but APCR, AP and SABOT do less farther away. APCR and Sabot DO NOT explode, they are solid shot so the damage they do is directly related to the energy 1/2 mv^2. AP explodes but the energy from the velocity is a lot of both the penetration and damage.
They better alter every tank then!
I think it's possible WG has made a game so complicated that things aren't working together and they have no idea what's happening unless it's a major glitch.....
I haven't even looked at the new Polish TDs. I'm not sure what to think of the "drive fast die fast" concept. I either want to snipe in TDs or have tons of armor and firepower. Wait, aren't there Russian TDs that have speed, firepower and armor in one package?
Taran,!
I always think it’s funny when someone tries to talk historical accuracy with this game. First of all, when a shell penetrates a tank, odds are very high that the crew is dead from spalling and insane heat in the tank. This idea it tanks multiple penetrating shots to kill a tank has about as much historical accuracy as unicorns.
AY UP CLAUS
Question: is this whole "close shooting pays off" for all nations or just the Polish td's??
So 800 damage at point blank range? But still subject to +/-25% giving a spread of 600 to 1000? Wonder what the true spread will be.
The damage mechanic favors close combat. The shell velocity benefits long range sniping. The frontal armor sometimes work when brawling, sometimes completely fail sending you early to the garage. It's a very situational schizophrenic tank destroyer. Personally I prefer tanks that perform one role really well and this isn't it.
Or use hi-explosive -no distance cap.
If they would lower dmg of apcr but increase crit chance and give us more tactical choice, they will see me back in the roster.
I truly believe they are responding to typical play I've observed. ☕👍. Yes bro too much credit
I played the T8 and now the T9. Rather than encouraging players to brawl, WG is discouraging players from sitting in the back for 13 minutes before getting killed. I don't mind the dmg to distance gimmick but, so far, I find that about 1 out of every 3-4 shots simply disappears. No voice over to tell you how bad a player you are, just silence after the big boom, regardless of the position or distance of the enemy tank. It's a bit discouraging when rushing in a brawl with a potential significant hit to suddenly realize that the undamaged enemy tank is no longer afraid of your gun and coming to teach you a thing or two about flank shots.
I haven't really chose A TD , you know my play style...I have no idea on TD's.
I suppose if warranting gives me one, or I get gifted one...I will be forced to try...
Before having watched the entire video I have this to share: with the new mechanics WG is introducing even more randomness and uncertainty. As the existing blatant and excruciating BS in the game can no longer be explained with the notorious +/- 25% they need to justify it with something else. After having watched the video: Yes, I play Polish TD-s. Not because I am fascinated by the mechanics but because of the favourable RNG. The Honey Moon period, as we know it around here.
I think if WG's real priority is shorter games they need a different and more arcade approach. Give everyone great RNG and nerf concealment. Battles will be decided in record time as the pewpew accelerates.
They are not content providers. They are Wargaming salesmen.
The new tank will have AP 350 Pen 600 damage standard, APCR 450 Pen only at Range above 400m Damage Scaling 800-300 From 650m-100m, but HE Pen 150 Damage Scaling 2200-100 From Range 100-650. So Medium Range Snipe AP, Long Range Snipe APCR, Shot Range DERP. No matter what you will obliterate every enemy at any range with 1-3 shots. Gave timer: under 5 minutes. Sigma .25 and 2000fps velocity.
LMFAO!!! wait til they introduce drones in the game...BOOM BOOM out goes the lights
It doesn't matter - the game is very similar to playing online slot machines.
" Addiction" 101.
Let's abolish armour, only wheeled vehicles with huge rotating guns
All I know is don't bother with the tier 5 Zadymka, awful concealment and gun traverse (constant fidgeting in bushes to aim so get spotted) make it difficult to snipe which is all you can do with it, the gun's alpha is all that it has going for it, I'm getting the tier 7 Gowika just a standard assault TD, the top tiers look tricky to make them work but will wait before deciding on them, i think the poor gun traverse on the Polish TDs is what many players won't like
I played throught the Zadymka and actually found myself enjoying it a bit. 90mm gun at tier 5 smacks, the armor has "some" usefulness at bouncing poorly aimed shots, and it gets around decently. The gun traverse is genuinely a pain though, but it was solid enough to get some good games.
@@MongooseJakeGamesI had some good games in it too but I still think it is not worth keeping and there are better tier 5 TDs
I thought they already did this!?
hi, you should read it more like "blitzcawitza", it will be closer to the right pronunciation :)
Do you think they change game timer to 10mins in every public games? I bet in 2024
I'll be a little contrarian and say that it's kind of an interesting mechanic. The game could use some more risk/reward tradeoffs. Maybe it's unbalanced in a way that's not obvious to me but giving players meaningful decisions is good in pretty much any game design
Bob mist this carry the stupid one 😃, as always big thumbs Up 👍
Why do you need to PEG the VU meters!
Hello, I am from Poland. It should be pronounced like this: bwiskavitza. Polish Ł is pronunced like an english „w”

Błyskawica. "ł'=w, "w"=v, "c"=tz. So pronounce it >bwyskavitza
WG need to attract muppets. So no thinking allowed... Mario is the way....
Up close you do more damage and far away you do a lot less. Wow WG; yet another nerf to all glass canon TD's and poorly armored tanks. . But wait, aren't most Russian tanks heavily armored who need to be close due to poor gun accuracy? 🤔🤔
Turretless TD'S that need to get closer to turreted tanks , YEP ! , this is going to end well!😂😂

Ultimate trolling from WG. Max dmg at close range, but 2000m/s 😊
😊
Really? They want to stop TD's from camping at the back with this mechanic? Correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that TD's were made to camp and snipe. Otherwise, we can all just stop playing TD's. Sell all your TD's I guess. Might as well get credits for them, rather than let them collect dust in the garage. Thoughts?
