Richmond VA; You can take the intracoastal (I've only known it as the intercoastal; just looked it to fact check myself... oh yeah...lost my train of thought); you can take the 🙄 intracoastal all the way to Chesapeake bay, and from the bay you take the James river all the way to downtown Richmond VA, almost; it is a great view of our city from the east. Best day of my life was both having a boat, and selling the boat 🤦🏽♀ twice. Next time it'll be a Whaler.

I think the guy in the sup is the reason they ended up on the rocks. I think he was going to attempt to paddle the anchor out to deeper water and then they could pull Themselves away from the rocks. The anchor was holding them several feet from the rocks until he jumped on board and told them something then suddenly they are in the rocks. I get trying to help, but if you’re not successful or don’t have a good plan you look like a fool.

The paddle board guy took action and helped like a true boater. The passenger seemed to place a lot of stock in holding his phone.
He may have had a plan, but he executed it terribly and almost made himself the emergency. He should have stayed out of the way.

The amature captain should've thrown anchor when the engine stopped. That mistake landed his boat in the rocks and endangered everyone on board. They were very lucky that the waves were calm, and land was right there. A rough sea would've bashed that little boat in bits in minutes.
Yeah, you forgot to thank the paddle boarder....
The Paddle boarder saved the day and yet he seemed invisible to everybody for his efforts !!

These folks relaxed on tow back without fighting each other over who's fault it was, or anything; maybe happy to be safe. But seriously, I would have ditched that anchor the moment the BHPD was there, rather stalling and trying to see if it would pull loose. Curious about hull damage; didn't see any obvious impacts on the jetty. Quality content WB! Thank you.

Well this turned out better than those drunken idiots at the Boca Inlet a couple weeks ago. I can’t figure out why but the people on this boat were far more intelligent then the people at the Boca Inlet.
I think the guy on the SUP really thought he was going to save the day and ended up just adding to the mess.

What? really? He seriously saved their boat from so much damage. His paddle was the only thing keeping them off those rocks every time the waves rocked the boat into them.

Who knows why & its no time for Q but, 20 yrs ago ive pulled ppl in same predicament twice in my 13' Whaler instead of coasting by. Key word , two decades ago

Maybe it’s a warning of what not to do. If they’d dropped anchor as soon as the boat stalled. They wouldn’t have been banging against the rocks for an hour.

I would have tied the rope to the port side of the starboard to relieve the immediate danger of grinding on those rocks... but hey, it is easy to opine from the comfort of my chair.....

I must say he was prepared he had a long enough rope to throw to the Patrol boat as well as a knife to cut the anchor line. I wonder why his engine quit could have been here an out of gas not sure if he was headed out or coming back in

I think the rescue boat was a bit slow, in pulling them away from the rocks, seemed like you just take your time , playing with the anchor and when you're ready we will start to pull you away from the rocks, smashed hull or not, we don't care, take your time. as long as we get paid. Pathetic. They could of even pulled along side,and said leave the fn Anchor and away they both go together.
