    • The difference between Toronto/Edmonton in comparison to Colorado is that the Avs are more dedicated to playing a full team game. Look at how MacKinnon was fairly mediocre this game AND you have people commenting how dominant they were. How others say they played poorly against Seattle but still won 4-1. They don’t play fantastically every night but they’re way less dependent on their superstars taking over than Edmonton or Toronto is, imo. Start with team defense and let offense develop out of that.

  • Dominant performance from the Avs but we gotta admit putting Chicago in Colorado (at altitude) for their home opener at the end of a long road trip against some good teams was just kinda mean. Yes we get it, everyone wants to see Bedard play against the best the league has to offer but jeez don't break the kid right out of the gate...Chicago looked completely gassed. That said 4-0 looks good to me and the Avs PK is vastly improved from last season. Georgy looks real comfy so far too. Lets hope for better luck and health this season. Last season was an injury nightmare.

    • @@CJ-1776"Welcome to the NHL, Bedard. Here, get destroyed by an actually good team." I swear the NHL does an awful job marketing its players. At least put McDavid and Draisaitl on actual contenders and not the mediocre Oilers.

    • @@lelouchvibritannia4028 the NHL is not a place where one or two great players can carry a team (like in the NBA or the NFL where one all star QB can make or break you). Every SC contender has depth throughout it's lineup. Edmonton has been trying to ride that McDavid-Draisaitl tandom for years. It will win you some games and even a couple playoff series but the best teams can shut down or limit one or two guys. The Avs proved that last season when their scoring depth dried up and they went one and done in the playoffs.
