Nathan MacKinnon scored his second of the season and Alexander Georgiev turned aside 18 shots in a shutout effort as the Colorado Avalanche cruised to victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in their home opener, winning 4-0.

As a goalie I feel Mrazek's reaction after the 4th. Dude played insane while his team gets schooled
It's a common theme when playing the Avalanche. They just dominate and even when the goalie stands on his head it's just not enough.
@@blackandblutooperfect example was trhat 51 saves game from Blackwood a few days ago and still lost
Yeah agreed. I’m not a hawks fan but my god he was literally doing everything he possibly good.
@@BasedAurelius Give him some time to adapt. He should fine, if not this season then the next.
Back to the good ol' Ed Belfour days during the 90s (though I wasnt old enough to watch the hawks back then haha)
Not sure I’ve ever seen such a thorough domination..Avs looking like they’re playing a high school team
I swear
If you watched Game 2 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals you saw a more thorough domination.
JV. Even when the Blackhawks have a power play they look shorthanded.
It was even more dominating, like they were playing a women's team
YES! and I'm a Blackhawk fan.
Bedard's ceiling is maybe of Niko Hishier or Johnny Gudreau at best.
MacKinnon is absolutely ELECTRIC! What a player.
@@marcelaubut176 50-50 with 97
One of my fav! Since mooseheads!
@@marcelaubut176loll
He'd be all the rage if not for McDavid and now Connor outshining him... At least he's got a great team and won a cup!
All of them treat to watch, enjoy the game :) @@v4v819
That opening faceoff foreshadowed the rest of the game. Straight domination
Wow…Mrazek was incredible. Wanted the Blackhawks to win just for him. Everyone else on that team blew
I was getting g pretty mad myself. He couldn't have done much more.
Yep. Mrazek has been playing great.
As a Leafs fan - yes I know, it's crazy to see how dominating Colorado is against a bad team in comparison to how Toronto played Chicago the other night
Im a fan of both teams😂Avs are way more consistant tho with a top D-man which is something Toronto doesnt have.
The difference between Toronto/Edmonton in comparison to Colorado is that the Avs are more dedicated to playing a full team game. Look at how MacKinnon was fairly mediocre this game AND you have people commenting how dominant they were. How others say they played poorly against Seattle but still won 4-1. They don’t play fantastically every night but they’re way less dependent on their superstars taking over than Edmonton or Toronto is, imo. Start with team defense and let offense develop out of that.
@@LiveLXStudiosyou wrote way too much mumbo jumbo when in reality Torontos D are the problem and Klinberg was a brutal pick up
@@SavingPrivateRy Nah he's right! just admit Treliving continued on with the mistakes by prioritizing the core 4 over an overall better team... It's reaaly starting to seem like a Shanahan problem and wasn't a Dubas problem. MLSE better realize the Goldenstate Warrior stuff only flys in a sport like the NBA..but a true sport like hockey requires an overall complete team!
@LiveLXStudios The Avs have some solid depth this season. They really didn't last season. Wood, Tatar, Johansson, and Colton are all solid players. Drouin is still a massive question mark so far but he's been skating well and doing the little things well. Just not scoring.
Man I feel bad for Mrazek
He got a good workout tonight.
LOC playing out of his mind. Chu Chu & Toewser both looked really good tonight as well. Georgie clearly has upped his game from what he showed last year as well.
Great to see the different line combos. Every player 1-9 is interchangeable.
Expected outcome. PK remains perfect, LOC is nuts, I've been super impressed with Jack Johnson so far, it's clear Georgie is out for blood this season. Great W
Bizarre how Jack Johnson only plays well for the Avs lol
Yah let’s grab kadri again cause he’s the same
Wow, the Avs look great!
amazing game from Tats, loved his backskating and vision on the ice... at least it didnt took too long to show his presence
The Avs are just killing it right now and people still sleep on em.
Nobody’s sleeping on them, everyone knows they’re one of the best teams in the league you absolute bozo 😂😂😂
True, this year we look really dangerous
Who is sleeping on them? They are one of the favorites yet again and most rankings have them as #2.
Not sure who's sleeping on them. I see them top 2 in most lists. I personally think they are favorites.
let’s see how they look against some good teams before you start planning the parade route.
Mrazek was the only reason this game wasn’t like 9-0. Mrazek played as good as he good. That’s on the rest of the defence to help him out and the forwards to try and get some goals on the board. The Avs are a great team tho. So a loss wasn’t really surprising for the Hawks. They knew they had a tough game
mrazek played so well. hard to do much more than he did when the rest of the hawks look like they just woke up and fell onto the ice.
The chemistry of Cogliano and O'Connor is something else. Its amazing cogliano came back after breaking his kneck and only missed one game.
Man I’m rooting hard for Drouin to be the player he was supposed to be. I’m sure it feels great to be on such a good team though.
That assist he had tonight was stellar!
Dude has been pretty decent but is cursed and can’t get a goal to save his life
@@DDWyssit's a shame it didn't count. that was beautiful assist. On the other hand I am happy for tuna as a slovak. 2 apples and he looked great on the first line
@@sammy8796he's not been brought in to score, only to provide help with fore checking, puck battles, physicality etc
@pritok6 I think Tatar is a solid top liner with this team. Drouin is doing the little things right setting up goals but man he can't find the back of the net
Outshot 28-10 at the halfway point of the 2nd is crazy. Colorado putting on a clinic.
Mrazek is one of my fav. goalies along with Saros and many other. I felt for him this night, but just how it goes. Avs gonna be hard to beat for literally any team, hope he doesn't took this night too hard literally.
I’m happy for Georgiev, I hope he will continue to do the same...
My oh my what dominance! Colorado are great! Bedard a floater out there. 65 pts at the most.
He's getting his Welcome to the NHL season. Bedard couldn't skate 10ft without an Av right on top of him
@@soulknife20I like his professionalism in interviews, but I wonder how long that will last before he pulls a Duchene and wants out of Chicago.
65 pts would be a fantastic first season on a bad team lmao. was this supposed to be an insult?
God the Avs look insane here.. surgically dismantling Chicago without even really thinking about it
Колорадо - это скорость, напор, отличное взаимопонимание и великолепное индивидуальное мастерство лидеров. В этом сезоне главными фаворитами видятся Вегас и Колорадо.
If Avs stay healthy there going to be a tough team to beat in a 7 game series I know the season just started but they just look dominant
Bedard invissible in this one🥶
Avs on a whole different level. It is like they have a 2 man advantage the whole game. But then not many teams can come in to Colorado and win.
O' Connor was the best Connor in this game.
That was savage, definitely an Avalanche hit the Blackhawks tonight.
Mrazek the only reason it wasn't 7-0
Avs should have brought up their AHL team and just took the night off
hahahaha
The only one that showed up was Mrazek!
we're like 5 games in and the Avs are already playing like a complete team. They could go deep again this year.
It's them or Vegas in the West
@@ThatMidnightRambler the dark horse in the race though is definitely the Oilers. But with their lack of defense it always gets exposed in the playoffs.
@@ThatMidnightRamblerDallas at 3 for me
@@aidan_asparro6208 I'd love for pavekski to get one
I know its only game 4 but avs depth compared to last year is really showing. I knew last year they were injury riddled and no depth when nuke went out. Now avs finally got much needed depth this season even if injuries arise. Only question mark is drouin.
Connor who? If the avs move the puck like that the rest of the season, that cup material. Georgiev’s an absolute animal.
"The Avs are just letting Vegas borrow it, for a year. The Cup is coming back to Denver, okay?" - Peyton manning
best quote of the year
Never this year win Florida
The Avs look angry. They’re pissed they got bounced in the first round last year and they’re out for blood.
Georgie has been unbelievable the first 4 wow
Man Bedard looks like hes out of his element. Doesnt look like hes very confident and dont see much skill in him. I honestly think the hype train was too much. Poor kid.
Been saying this since the start. People put too much pressure on him and now anything he does won’t be good enough.
Obviously he looks out of his element lmao. Going from juniors to NHL doesn't come overnight. Sure he struggled against the Avs, but he's looked SURPRISINGLY confident for an 18 year old. If you don't see skill in him, idk what to tell you, clearly you're watching the games with your eyes closed. Just needs more games under his belt, like every other player who comes in the league. 4pts in your first 6 games on a terrible team ain't too shabby.
Очень рад за Георгиева. Нолик дорогого стоит
My main takeaway from this is that Bedard will NEVER be as good as Mackinnon. Not the same level of generational talent. Too weak on the puck.
Bedard the next yakupov 😅
Yak was faster and more personality lol
The next Alexis Lafreniere? lol
This was not a hockey game. This was 60 minutes of pure punishment.
Avs were flying
That’s how to start the first home game. Avs looked like an Avalanche, good luck finding your footing Chicago.
Next game is our home opener against Vegas lmao. We looking at back to back spankings I think unfortunately
Wym good luck? Hawks aren't supposed to be good lol. They are still a bottom 5 team in the league.
What a start to the season for LOC!!!🤩
I knew it'd be a tough game but damn...we got absolutely annihilated 😔
Hey, you beat Toronto in their own city! Dont forget that!
Oof. I was glad I was out of town and missed this game live.
Korchinski and the young d core were mad exposed last night and it’s obvious that right now, bedard is the only one in the lineup with real speed and skill. Reichel looked god awful again. He’s done nothing but lose the puck and turn it over in his own zone. Giving me flashbacks of that forward we had years ago that was fast but couldn’t puck handle to save his life. Can’t think of his name right now off the top of my head. Think we dealt him to Nashville after his failed experiment in Chicago.
The Black Hawks looked tired from their long road trip. Bedard needs to put on a little more weight, and he will be just fine. I'm an Avs fan, by the way.
@@josephmueller6842 He will do just fine, already looks good this early into the season. Some more games under his belt and he'll be flying. I think his weight is fine though, 185lbs at 5'10" is pretty good.
Крутой хоккей от колорадо ❤
The cup is coming home to Denver this year boys. Thanks for playing, better luck next year.

Wooooooo way to go Avalanche 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
The machine was clicking tonight
Hawks this game looked like someone gave a bunch of hockey sticks to some chickens and then expected them too play hockey.
Bedard on the point for the PP seems wild to me.. he's gonna get burned like that often if he stays there.
Men playing boys the Avs ran over them this game I feel bad for Mrazek. Go Avs!
8:14 Mackinnon is a freak on this shift
Avalanche is what u call a proper hockey team
Bedard plays a elite team with elite players and doesn't even get a shot off 😬
he's young, give him time.
You just said it yourself, they are an elite team. The Avs have held McDavid at 0 shots before too. McDavid is still the best player, sometimes good players get shut down... Bedard will still be a great player.
@gorillaglue99 let's let him get a couple of seasons in him before he gets put in the great category. He's in the good now
@@rsk9228 I never said otherwise. I said he WILL be a great player. I agree, he is a good player right now. I was just pointing out that him not getting shot isn't a big deal, which you didn't want to acknowledge. You were too focused on one word, which you misread anyways.
@gorillaglue99 big goose egg against the bruins too Golden boy will never be great, never win a cup especially playing for the hawks
Pete has been a stud goalie since world juniors a decade ago. Do people think he’s middle of the road? He’s just been on some rough teams.
I had my worries coming into the season but so far the Avs have far exceeded my expectations. This reminded me of their 7-0 slaughter of Tampa in Game 2 of the Final. I just hope they don’t pull a 2019 Lightning or 2022 Bruins and put way too much energy into the regular season.
That was the best game I’ve ever been to
Damn. Avs look incredilbe
Wow, Avs just look like they were in a different league.
Валера хороший голевой пас отдал!!!Георгиев красава!жуки молодцы!
Bedard clearly needs to be put on the wing for a while. What are they even doing?
Jack Hughes build
End of 5 game road trip for young hawks. Tough schedule for young hawks. Bedard last couple games he's looked pretty slow to be honest.
Mrazek had no help at all in that game. He stood on his head while the rest of the team didn't show up.
♥️♥️♥️Go AVS👍♥️🍀
Георгиев 🎉. Просто красавец!!!!!!!!
И Валера молодец 😊
So is the bedard hype over with?
Last two number one draft picks destroyed by their organizations...expectations on Slafkovsky were very high, Montreal is rushing his development and despite the fact he does try to look comfortable I don't think he actually is. I think the same will eventually happen to Bedard as well.
They will end up like Lafreniere who was rushed too
Avs completely dominated that game. Chi goalie played great. Chicago power play looks 💩. Bedard barely touched the puck. So far from what I’ve seen the first 5 games he does a lot of coasting around the ice. I’m gonna need to see some more explosiveness out of him or he’s going to fade away.
the puck movement on the avs 3rd goal was sublime.
Гиоргиев красавчик!!!!!
Mrazek played great. Could have been 7-0
Go Avalanche!!!!
bro give Mrazek some help maaaan, im not even a Hawks fan but Mrzaek is a gamer

Avs hungry again for another cup boys!
Bedard is so much worse than Crosby and McDavid. Not even in the same breathe.
Mcdavid today was terrible ...
@Jinjee_YamYam I think he means compared to them in there first seasons.
How dare Bedard not have 900 points in his first 4 NHL games? It’s all his fault the Blackhawks lost.
@@landonlc4 Bedard only played 4 games with 3 points.. Mcdavid had 1 point in his first 4 games.. so let's not compare. (I know Mcdavid is GOAT)

Amazing
It was a good game. Unfortunately Bedard spent a lot of time watching the Avs players on the ice. The young Blackhawk players were definitely outmatched. Avs dominated. Also think the altitude was a factor.
Bedard got squashed a couple of times, too. Colton and wood double teamed him one time
@landonlc4 I actually saw that. Bedard isn't playing in juniors anymore. Now, he plays against seasoned veterans.
@@marie2274Especially players like Wood who will not hesitate to flatten you

maybe it is another "Jack Hughes" case?
It’s a long season.
Leafs, take note on how you play a team that your supposed to beat.
Dominant performance from the Avs but we gotta admit putting Chicago in Colorado (at altitude) for their home opener at the end of a long road trip against some good teams was just kinda mean. Yes we get it, everyone wants to see Bedard play against the best the league has to offer but jeez don't break the kid right out of the gate...Chicago looked completely gassed. That said 4-0 looks good to me and the Avs PK is vastly improved from last season. Georgy looks real comfy so far too. Lets hope for better luck and health this season. Last season was an injury nightmare.
colorado just got back to altitude as well, coming off a 3 game road trip to start the season. Chicago just got treated like the bad team they are. It is what it is.
Mean? Excuses
@@insertlastname nah just an observation, and a light hearted one at that. Those guys were tired. Don’t get me wrong, Colorado most likely wins that game either way.
@@CJ-1776"Welcome to the NHL, Bedard. Here, get destroyed by an actually good team." I swear the NHL does an awful job marketing its players. At least put McDavid and Draisaitl on actual contenders and not the mediocre Oilers.
@@lelouchvibritannia4028 the NHL is not a place where one or two great players can carry a team (like in the NBA or the NFL where one all star QB can make or break you). Every SC contender has depth throughout it's lineup. Edmonton has been trying to ride that McDavid-Draisaitl tandom for years. It will win you some games and even a couple playoff series but the best teams can shut down or limit one or two guys. The Avs proved that last season when their scoring depth dried up and they went one and done in the playoffs.
