Journey to the edge of the Observable Universe

2024 ж. 14 Мам.

This journey presents a scientific and comprehensive illustration of the entire known Universe. It begins at the surface of the Earth and extends to the edge of the Observable Universe, passing through The Solar System, nearby stars, our galaxy, nearby galaxies, and Galactic Clusters.

    • Why haven't we found any trace of another civilisation in our own Galaxy? If our own planet as been around for 4.5 billion years that's more than enough time for other space venturing species to spread out across the Galaxy. So far.....nothing. 🤔

    • @@chromee2007 It’s hard to comprehend I get it…. Simply Google “How far have our radio waves traveled”. That may put into perspective just how hard it is for us to contact any other life form. It doesn’t mean it’s not out there, it just means the universe is so vast that communication with other life forms is nearly impossible because the distances between stars are unbelievably vast. Our galaxy alone is 100,000 lights years across and our radio waves have only been traveling at light speed for a little over 100 years. Again…Google “how far have our radio waves traveled”. Hopefully we find out in our lifetime 😊

    • @@chromee2007 The planet has been around for 4.5 bil years, but the first telescope was invented 400 years ago. Besides how would they even know we're here? We've been transmitting EM waves for the last 100 years. It is impossible to imagine how that could work. One thing is for shure, each time, self-centered egoistic humans thought they are in the middle of everything and are most important - science proves them wrong.

    • @@scoper7897 Even if you were the most advanced civilization possible, you could likely not travel faster than the speed of light. In 1974, we sent a message (the Arecibo message), which contained encoded information about the human race, DNA, atomic numbers, Earth's position and other information, towards the globular cluster Messier 13, which is about 25000 light years from here. So it first travels 25000 years and then, the hopeful response would take another 25000 years to reach us back and that distance is still small in the scale of the universe. The distances are simply too great with respect to the laws of physics to even contact someone or something. That's radio. The other thing is that telescopes are also bad (atleast currently) for looking for life. We cannot even see the nearest known exoplanet, Proxima Centauri b, which is just 4.2 light years from here. We can only deduce its existence because something is pulling the star, Proxima Centauri, as it does not stay perfectly still. In other words, zero proof (so far) means absolutely nothing. If our scientific instruments (and the laws of physics) were several orders of magnitude "better" and we still couldn't contact or find anything, your claim would be slightly more convincing than 0, which it is now.

  • Remember, nothing is without meaning in this universe. So if there are other cosmic entities, they are there for some reason. So if there is reason, there is thought, if there is thought, there is physical consciousness to make that thought a "living" "reality". Its the closest explanation i can put up in words or language for life other than on earth which Iam 100 percent sure there is. So life is same everywhere i.e. a conciousness but with infinite creative forms. An experience of itself/ oneself among ourselves. I know i might sound crazy but i dont have enough words to say it. Its beyond words, emotions or feelings. This is what i have learnt being a bramacharya yogi here in india.

But, we also, could just be, nothing. It's also insane to think about just how much stuff there is. I mean, there is sooo much stuff. Thing after thing after thing after thing. There are probably things out there, that we can't even conceive of. I'd imagine our entire understanding of everything could be altered just by simply observing from within one of the systems, in one of the galaxies, in one of the clusters, in the Universe. That's without having any way to know what even lies beyond what we can actually see. It truly is, as far as we know, the final frontier. Then again, for all we know it's only the beginning.

      @GGStuff@GGStuff24 күн бұрын
    • @@GGStuff It's not a dumb question at all. Just don't let idiots like @cityofseattleroleplay unsettle you. Being curious is good! The massive diameter (93 billion ly) of the observable universe shows how the universe expanded (and still continues to expand) over its lifetime of 13.8 billion years. An even more awe-inspiring fact is, that the most distant objects we're able to see are actually moving faster away from us than light due to the expansion of the universe. Of course their absolute speed does never reach the speed of light. In fact the space between does expand faster than the speed of light. Edit: If you want to know more about it, I recommend watching "Misconceptions About the Universe" by veritasium.
