Phrasal Verbs with "OFF" - Learn 100,000 PHRASAL VERBS instantly!

2023 ж. 4 Там.

This is how you learn phrasal verbs:
Learn the common meanings of the preposition, THAT shows WHAT happened, for example: "She hit my glasses OFF" means that she didn't ONLY hit my glasses, the glasses SEPARATED from my head. So the prepoisiton, in this case: "OFF" shows WHAT happened, and the verb shows HOW it happened!
In today's class you'll learn the common meanings of OFF in phrasal verbs, and how to use these phrasal verbs correctly!
Two new phrasal verbs from the video:
“PAY OFF”: means you pay someone (like the police) to leave you alone.
Example: “I’m a celebrity, I need to PAY OFF the paparazzi every day before I leave my house! 🙄”
“LET OFF”: means you did something bad and someone decided not to punish you for it!
Example: “My boss caught me on Instagram for the third time that day, but he LET me OFF because I’m the best at my job!” #learnenglish #englishvocabulary #phrasalverbs

  • Hi, Aly👋Thanks a lot for the lesson🙏Well , I love wandering off just like you. I reckon this is the best way to discover a city. To be honest, I've been going through for a long time because of the illness of my grandparents. So, I need to go off what I've been facing and then stay away a little bit. Anyway, thanks again. Have a nice Sunday 👋Çağlar.

(Or it was a montage..) I'm gonna have to rip off my brain to erase this memory. Sorry, I started going off like that 🤦 But you probably know.. I'm gonna let you off and I hope your arm is better.. Meanwhile, I turned off TV and danced off and now, I would like to wander off, to think about all of that 🤔
