As a Dutchie, what I appreciate most about english commentators is that they always try to sound neutral. Even when their own country has conceded a goal, they'll still say things like: "Oh what a terrific header." or "What an astonishing goal!". You could watch this game in England supporing the dutch with this commentary and feel like you were watching it in the Netherlands. Meanwhile the dutch commentators would be so biased (and I don't blame them) that they would downgrade the other team's accomplishment, even though they scored. When I'm watching this game in the Netherlands it really feels like you're watching it from one certain perspecitve. That isn't a feeling I get when I'm watching the same game with english commentary. Anyway what I wanted to say was this: England, you truly are the inventors of football. Because your commentators aren't just reporting it to the english fans, they're reporting it to the world.
I have to agree about that wrt English Commentators, The English commentary for Zlatan's bicycle kick was terrific - as much as I do not support any English team, I totally respect their commentators whether it's cricket or football.

People on our teams back disregarding talent and saying were ‘hype’ and that we got battered this game’. First half was even but we got the goal and chose to defend it, causing the opposing team to push on yes. We then conceded a corner which is really a bit unlucky and came out and was an inch from winning it two mins later, we played well and missed valuable chances to see off the game. The Dutch are top class atm and we matched them and pushed them and in reality gave them the win with two huge mistakes which isn’t common. Take what you want this you and hopeful team may be ‘hype’ but also promising. Always improving and finding out more and more about who’s real and who’s not therefor improving massively too, we should back this squad as it’s positive and believe we are in for better nights as a nation.🦁🦁🦁

If there is one way to state the problem with English football is that if Frenkie De Jong was English and was playing for a mid table PL club I feel Declan Rice would be rated more highly than him. England had 2 proper ball playing centre mids (Carrick and Scholes) in the last 15-20 years and both were totally under-utilised, I hope England will learn how to rate footballers one day.
