Don't know why this other dude attacks you in the comments, but schaefchen mentions multiple times in his videos that he is a horrible passenger. And you can see it in a few of his videos. Himself drives crazy as shit but can't stand beeing a passenger :D
@@germanthx this is super common with people who drive their own stuff fast, they know how quickly it can go wrong and being out of control of it going wrong is naturally scary

That was wild. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it on this channel. The sound of a V10 is always amazing and if it were actually set up for the track it would have been a whole different story.
Biggest disappointment it wasn't now that I've felt what the car could do in normal spec.

@@mgcharoudin The normal spec would have been amazing. I have a regular gen V Viper and its a fucking beast. An incorrect setup is like running with boots and a back pack on! LOL I hope you get a 2nd chance from someone with a stock spec or even a dialed in spec!!!!!!!
It's too bad it was lowered. Would have loved to see a proper full send and not having to worry about bottoming out. That being said, that looked like a wild ride! Maybe you can arrange for him to put the car back to "stock" so you can really go at it! Amazing car.

The problem is not the upgrade of stocks...they should have been set to hard before going to track...
And the tires, huge performance losses from those. Set of Cup 2RS and a track alignment and this is a completely different lap
Probably the best US track car that was available to mere mortals.
I would say a C6 Z06 or C7 Z06 would be the choice for mere mortals...ACRs are super expensive nowadays...
Definitely. Unfortunately it's no longer available without several hundred thousands. It's like the '69 Boss 429, now yours for only 450k... Insane.
@DreamWorkDrive I'm w you on the c6 Z06 as one of the best American track cars, but the c7 Z06, not so much. They are hairy and not very well balanced. C7 GS is much better for track use, although not near as fast in a straight line.

That's why I'm looking for cheap Volvo S40/S60/C30 with the NA 2.4L 5 cyl, because I could have a "baby Viper" (that probably sounds stupid, I know 😀).

@@staLkerhu i own 850 T-5R, the viper has very similar sound but NA's sound more similar than these turbo engines.
5cylinders are so, so good. Even our diesel volvo sounds bloody brilliant when I'm overtaking. Despite being muffled to hell and stock standard. Diesel don't even rev high enough for the iconic sounds of 5cyls, but it STILL sounds good! Bubbly goodness.

The logo appearing near the redline is the coolest detail ever. Amazing car, it's a shame it couldn't be pushed to the limit due to the tires and suspension travel :(

The Viper, especially the ACR, is a hell of a track car that deserves respect. Glad you lived through it. Thank you for sharing.
Ikr, and these ACR track cars are 10x much better than 3k HP twin turbo Calvo Vipers imo!!! You'd never seen much Americans driving a track oriented car the way it should be driven instead of going for pure power. Sure maintaining the control of a high powered machine on a straight line is already difficult but to master the full handling oriented driving of a car like this is on another level and roughly it'd take many years to fully master the art of circuit oriented racing whether an occasional track days like this, setting an overall lap record like time attacks, or even an endurance racing!! And lastly, track racing is much more entertaining than straightline gapplebees imo. Especially close track battles!!! It's not always on the machine but the driver's skills!!
@@UguisuAnko12 People mistake our focus on power over track as some "we're dumb" or lazy thing. We, do not, have, many tracks. Those we do have are privately owned most times and the ones that are open, it's like 500-1500 a day. It's an exceptionally rich mans sport out here, so the every day man is stuck to straight line pulls on the highway or illegal drag events in more rural parts of the US. Edit: You're better off trying to go for Rally than any other motorsport, and even then since most land is privately owned (and you will be shot here), you can't just go there and practice or get some runs in. The hoarding generation screwed the future of mine.

Great video, and very glad to see a Viper here, but I wish we'd gotten to see a stock ACR. They're basically track-ready from the factory, and it's a dream car for me.
try a second run with better height adjustment and the right typ of tyres. One of my very favorite cars next to my Caterham CSR. Interresting to race against this machine. Mischa very nice vid btw.
To the owner I would get the car properly setup and go with Misha again. One of the most capable track cars around, It's a shame to give people the wrong impression of what it truly is.
It held its own pretty well even in the circumstances, that's impressive! But I know what you're saying for a long time I was thinking e92 M3's were shit, until I drove a stock one 😂
@@LaurentiusTriarius There was absolutely nothing impressive about that, and it did not hold its own. When you do so much crap to the car so that it loses over a minute, you have ruined the car.

By far my favorite car, the feelings this gives me is amazing, from playing with the viper on gran turismo as a kid to a great passion for this car after so much years despite never been privileged enough to see one face to face. Amazing experience Misha!

It's an amazing machine, on Khumo tires the ACR-Extreme did a 7:01 (full lap) with a lot of places to improve, sadly on the sub 7 attepemt the driver got into a bad accident

Image the record Driver from GT2 rs Mr in this Viper with the full skillset of Mercedes/Porsche Maybe IT could be Close to 6:45 Mostly asking my self how fast the koenigsegg jesko would be. @@bloodline6348yeah I got bad news for you if u think u can save 15 seconds because of some bad corners.. you can't, the viper could prolly reach 6:59 on it's best with the top Porsche drivers
@@blazesmooth5573 I think its different story, the Viper is also from America and a concourent. You know how much work porsche and MR did put togheter to get the car faster. In no world they would do this for a competition company like Dodge. They wont even do it for Audi or Bmw. So I realy think that this viper could come close to 6:45. with all the background Skillset and Coworkers. Its just not worth it. mate
A couple of change down over revs at the end of the long straight, had been thinking it could do with slightly closer ratios. That bottoming out cannot have been pleasant at all. However with some fine ride height/damper/spring tuning that Viper would be some serious weapon indeed! Great video.
Noticed it too, seemed to downshift more than needed. Limiter at 6500 and some downshifts were past that haha
He is not used to the engine character.... he try to squeeze some rev out while he should use the sweet pull wide band instead.

One of the best sounding V10s on the Nurburgring. Absolute beast! This was absolute pleasure for the ears and the eyes. I was quite astonished by the amount of downforce this car makes scraping the road all the time.

When the porches came through and you started to tag along that was such a thrilling visual. Bravo I know that car is a beast let alone a force to be reckoned with.
I’m curious why the owner lowered it so much when he seems to already take it to other tracks. Either way the lap sounded great whenever it wasnt rubbing. The viper acr is one of my favorite cars, and I was actually surprised by how light the clutch and shifter felt when I got to sit and rev one a few years ago.
Other tracks won't be THIS problematic
the ring is not like other tracks. U need more space between the road and the car compared to other tracks.

He mostly drifts his cars not a huge track guy. But his channel is really cool called Schaefchen. Also, he does not care about hurting the car. He goes on a road trip in his R34 and brings an angle grinder to cut things off that break 🤣🤣
@@scuph Fair enough, he seems like a nice guy. I’ll always respect someone that drives their track oriented cars rather than just just bringing them to a cars and coffee and then straight back to the garage afterwards.

They don't. If you know anything about the ACR you'll know it has so much down force it pushes it down with a whole lot of force.

Lowering it probably increased the efficiency of that diffusor, which probably really lent to the bottoming into fuchsröhre even more and also the porpoising. Neat, but scary

You owe it to yourself to find another ACR to try, Misha. This one is not representative of their capabilities, which to be honest in this ones' configuration is perfectly capable of killing a guy. Silly street stances and mismatched tires don't make for a good time. The car is hugely demanding as is - but if properly presented, hugely rewarding too.

OG Schaefchen seems a nice bloke from the beginning. He has humor and trusted his car to Misha. Even when he was scared, he asked for a second lap. Great car, it is difficult to drive but if driven properly, it is amazing in track. Could the car's lower height destroy its balance? It is already low enough, but now the car was scratching everything!

Once the suspension reaches the end of its travel - for any reason, including the tire bottoming on something unmovable - then A LOT OF STUFF goes right out the window. Balance specifically, in the context of how evenly the front and rear lose and/or regain grip, could of course change drastically if one end of the car bottoms out more easily than the other end.

That clutch. I've never driven one IRL. I have driven a few Porches and I can tell from the video that the pedal is pretty deep. Great skill on the shifting Misha. And that engine note! Clutch is the only thing I'd change on a Viper. My favorite supercar. Any generation or model Viper, any generation or model Zonda, and the 05' Ford GT. My top 3 cars. Glad to see one get thrown around the ring.
