SSG Ebony Winston's first deployment occurred immediately after her graduation from Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. Although she was nervous about her first trip overseas, she knew her training had prepared her for the mission. She looks back on that experience not just as a chance to serve her country, but also an opportunity to become a team member, to understand other cultures and to grow as a communicator. Noticed the National Guard has been at my college the last couple days in Wisconsin. I wish the age range rules were a little different than they are. I’m 36 but I’m more able bodied than some people I know who are still in their 20’s. I can’t tell you how proud I would be to represent my country.
Pretty sure you can still join with a waiver. Cut off is like 39
@m p Which programs does the Air Guard have that the Army National Guard doesn’t?
Age Waivers are approved more than not providing they get approved and you can contract on or before your 40th Birthday. Good luck and best wishes! Don’t delay and get started today…
You could still join with a waiver cut off one day before your 40 birthday
You can join with a wavier. Had a guy in my basic at sill,he was a middle school teacher and was 39 years old
Why us national guard operating outside the U.S.?
They can also be activated federally for deployment overseas. After 9/11 they’ve been used a lot more in oversea deployments
