Banana leaves do grow in England - I have a clump of banana plants growing in the back garden and we do use the leaves for cooking and spair leaves go to my friends. She's a very good cook, have to go and try some of her cooking :)

I'm excited because we have candle nuts growing all over our backyard in SC and I have access to everything else! I'm gonna try it out :) btw, if you eat candle nuts raw, they can make you very very sick. Learned that the hard way after poisoning my husband and I... I thought they were macadamia nuts. Nope. The hospital bill was insane and I began cooking them after that nasty lesson lol
@@lunaballuna put coconut milk, ginger in your rice with a pandan leaves(ignore if you don't have) as well if you're going to make nasi lemak(that's what 'lemak' is for, the fat from coconut milk) and a pinch of salt. If you don't have palm sugar, can substitute it with regular sugar. Taste as you cook to adjust to your preference.

We grow our own curry leaves in Virginia. Its too cold for them in winter, so they're inside from mid November to late march(4.5 months), since its below freezing.
