London’s Most Authentic Cockney English Breakfast At E. Pellicci | Legendary Eats
Places like these are national treasures. Any family restaurant that lasted over 100 years should be considered one.
Lmao no. All these restaurants promote white racism and must be cancelled or closed down. If you eat at one of these restaurants than youre a racist.

E-Pellicci the Italian family serving Authentic English Breakfast is an unexpected combination.
Not really loads Portuguese Spanish Albanian and Turks etc own cafes like this
Not in London it isn't. Italian's owning "greasy spoons" is quite normal.
Plenty of Italians own cafes and chippy s up in Scotland too
not really, its London, its a multi cultural shithole

I love that Mamma Maria speaks fluent Italian with a London accent.

Its the hard truth about how emigrants don’t budge a single bit and can accomplish to not know a single word of the countries they have gone to language in over 60 years of emigration You think she talks Italian with English accent 💀💀💀💀💀
What I couldn't understand is, the place has been open since 1900, so logically, her family has been in the country since before she was born, but she still speaks Italian like an Italian...interesting.
As a Londoner, nothing quite beats a full English at family owned greasy spoon after a night of drinking! 😋

The fact that the restaurant remains family run since 1900 just makes its story really beautiful. I must remember to visit this place the next time I'm in London
I love how she swaps from an East London accent to speaking Italian in an Italian accent so quickly. And I adore listening to Claudia speak.
@@info_bot lmao
But her English has an Italian accent... and her Italian has a slight English accent. Check the pronunciation of 'bacon'... lol
@@info_bot Italians had it tough back in the days, in USA they weren't even classified as "white" in the past, and they had to do very unpleasant jobs such as miners or factory workers in countries like Germany, UK, Sweden, Australia and Belgium, and during those years they were called wops, wogs and greasers and no one used to trust them because of prejudices, now the situation has changed and they are given the respect they deserve; Italians are now appreciated but remember that years ago we were treated even worse than new immigrants, without the new anti-racism policies we have now.

I'm from Bow 10 mins down the road near the Roman rd market and I've walked past this cafe hundreds of times, but never been in. There's a few pie and mash places on the Roman road too. It's eateries like on this video and the pie and mash places that are the soul and beating heart of cockney and east end London culture

I wish I had a place like this around me, it looks like such a homely, warm place to be.
i love the fact that the people who cooks the best english breakfast is italian
I would say it's far from the best, but being a family run business and a great atmosphere is what the charm is. Not the food. Spanish, Italians, Greeks, turks, Indians, french etc have cafes cooking English breakfast all over Britain.
I came down to the comments just to find this….l knew a non English person somewhere down here wouldn’t be able to resist making an obvious Anti-English comment just to be an asshole (l hope you feel better now). Also nobody used the word “best” they said “Authentic” big difference.

Used to go here all the time as I’m from Bethnal Green miss this place now I live in Cornwall. Best breakfast anywhere
And I'm sure ur doing ur best to blend in to ur new surroundings,Which means meeting the locals and using local businesses..Now I no longer live in the UK,but I was born in Stepney and lived beside Victoria Pk for 10 yrs..And my oldest sister has lived in Bethnal green(near Columbia Rd for 30 odd yrs) But over the yrs u saw a change with many of it's new imports arriving from all over the country(London has always attracted people from everywhere)But unfortunately, for the most part all they do is sample what these area's have to offer(like Pelliici's Cafe -one of many decent Cafe's to be seen at one time)But at best they have no inclination to get to know the locals(if there are any to be found) or at worst really couldn't give a monkeys f##k for them.
Oooh Cornwall is an amazing place used to go there every year honestly the community is great and the costs are also good so many beaches and food places 10/10 whish I could still go there but I'll have to wait another 4-6 years to go there again and it won't be the same as before unfortunately
Love this piece. I've seen Legend and very much admired Tom Hardy's portrayal of the Krays. Little did I know that the restaurant I'd seen in the film was the actual one where they went for breakfast. I really appreciate a family owned business that's been around for as long as this. May it continue for many more years.

When I lived in London 1999-2001 I found out about the place and dropped by on a Saturday morning. Very tasty meal as I recall, and I sat next to some folks, and we chatted about it and the history, and decided to head out for some fun, wound up in several bars and a house party or two, went quite late. Two countries in the world I wish to visit, England (Well, the UK actually) and Italy. When I go to London, I'll be sure to remember this restaurant. Breakfast can be served anytime of the day, in my opinion. It feeds not only the body but the soul too. Thank you Food Insider for these in-depth videos of "Mom and Pop" diners. They are very pleasant to watch. Hint: A little more of the food would be perfect..to balance the wonderful stories of these hard working restaurant owners.
Full English used to be what I asked for lunch or dinner growing up. Preferred cereal for my brekky! If you go to Italy and end up in Bracciano (it's a little town outside Rome that I grew up in after leaving England as a child) - on the top of Via Claudia is a fantastic pizzeria. Right across from the gelateria at the junction. Can't miss it.
