Inside Debby Ryan & Josh Dun's Fascinating Ohio Home | Open Door | Architectural Digest
Today AD is welcomed to Columbus, Ohio by Debby Ryan and Josh Dun for a tour of their fascinating, ‘treehouse fantasy’ home. It might be surprising to hear of a sparkling young actor and her rocker husband setting up their first house in the “Arch City,” but Ryan and Dun relish an impulsive departure from the script. When they discovered the property and decided to make it their home, the actor and musician tapped Fawn Galli and Ashley Moyer to bring their domestic dream to life. From a basement boxing ring and a cold-plunge pool on the back porch, to a recording studio and a dramatic stone bust of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, that dream has come to full fruition. “I remember walking through the house and feeling like there was so much room to put our personalities into it,” says Dun. “Not only was this the first house that we designed together, but it was really the first time that both of us felt the freedom to put our mark on a place.”

@@trinitym5552 I was complimenting how they put both of their tastes together. This is not to my taste but I can appreciate the way they compromised to make a new aesthetic. Lately I have heard of partners not compromising on decorating their homes and only allowing certain item if it fits a clear cut aesthetic.

The best couples are often the ones that act like best friends I would know because me and my gf still goof around like we're in middle school just hanging out talking about random things and laughing over asinine stuff.
I love how much they love their home. You can tell they really *live* in here. Some of the celebrity tours are so dry because they don't really cook in the kitchen, they don't really hang out in their living room, and they just hired a decorator to make it look pretty. But these two definitely do spend a lot of time here and have an attachment to the details they've chosen
You can tell that they were intimately involved in decorating and inspiring the creative direction of this house, every piece has a story and they know all the little details. It’s so intentional and I “open houses” that are curated this way!
So many of these homes don't feel like theirs in the way it's designed in partnership with the homeowners. Most of the time it feels like a designer came in and asked them what style they liked and then designed around that without their input. Josh and Debby's house feels like a woodsy 1940s cartoonist house in the cutest way possible.

Oh MOST DEFINITELY one of greatest A.D. house tours I’ve ever seen. This is a super creative (just like Jim’s bow😂) and just a fun house for the both of them. Their style in the art and in the ideas is amazing and beautiful. The kitchen is massive and has one of my favorite color choices! (White) holy hash browns their walls are so cool! How do they come up with this stuff haha I really appreciated how Debby honored her past projects. These two are a lovely couple.

They're not only in love with each other, but they really LOVE themselves as individuals that they created a whole ambient and personality for their home based on themselves and their experiences, relationship, memories, etc. I say this in the best possible way, as an architect and graphic designer, i love every single detail inside this house, such an inspiring space.

I normally don't like these cuz a lot of times the homes can seem so sterile and not very homey. I love this because it shows both of their personalities throughout and it feels more like a home than just a house. I would never leave the theatre room!

I totally agree. I actually like Debby Ryan more now than I did before seeing this video. I saw her in Insatiable, and (I realize now that) her acting was SO good that I came to dislike her as a person. After watching this, though, I think that both she and Josh Dun are awesome people that I’d love to hang out with.

It's really refreshing to see them not take their decor so seriously, there's a lot of tours I've seen where the homes are aesthetically well put together but looks so cold and have absolutely no character person. You really get a sense of their personalities just from their home which I much prefer to an all white box
Seriously! Like all the things in it actually belong to them too and wasn't just curated by someone else. I never understood how celebrities could live like that. You spend all day being owned by a bunch of people. The last thing I'd want to do is be surrounded by things that don't feel like it's mine.

This is by far the most stunning home I’ve ever seen. The quality of belongings is definitely very high, everything is so lush, and STILL they made this home unapologetically theirs. Every room is so unique and cool and welcoming. Their style is so eclectic and yet totally cohesive. I adore both of them but their style makes me love them even more
This is the most beautiful display of compatibility and creativity I have yet to witness! Debby is the most interesting human I have come across in YEARS! And Josh is soooo thoughtful and even tempered. This house feels like the brain child of two adult children playing "house" at school. I like they way they look at the other one when they are speaking to the camera. I love their thoughtfulness... Like, dude loves her! And how could you not? She is the funniest, most chill person ever. And this house is just such a masterpiece and seems to fit their lives so well, based on what they have explained. I am in awe. This might be my favorite one yet! My life partner goals have changed!

Kind of underated comment. Really you can admire it and all but can't imagine yourself living there, as every corner speak that's it's theirs. Which kind of beautiful I definitely want my house to have that vibe. It's so welcoming yet so personal.

Halfway through this house and I have to say this is hands down the coolest house I’ve ever seen in my entire life. There’s so much positive energy within and so much thought and well creativity put into it. Everything had its place and it’s just all so colourful, unique and artsy!
