  • If anyone is interested in the book that Prof. Peterson recommends in this clip, “Hitler’s Table Talk”, you can find it here: amzn.to/2wszJ1H (US) / amzn.to/2h3uG5M (UK) / amzn.to/2wsv4Nj (CA). Or if you’ve already read it, I'd appreaciate it if you could leave your opinion about it. Thanks. The urls above are Amazon affiliate links.

    • +Psyche Matters I truely respect Prof. Peterson and am a fan of him but as a historian here in switzerland especially focused on the time period i, just like most historians can only tell people to not buy that book as it is not regarded as even remotely reliable. You can read the actual "table talks" of Hitler at the Berghof, Teehaus and also abroad in the NARA archives (which correct translations) or in the german Bundesarchiv where all "minutes" can be viewed and read. The book is even banned from being used as a source at the german "IFZ" (Institut für Zeitgeschichte) as well as other historical institutes throughout europe. It is basically a fantasy book and until today i still don't know why americans and canadians don't just access and read the actual minutes of Hitler's private but also official table talks at the US NARA archives or from the german Bundesarchiv. So seeing Prof. Peterson promoting this unreliable and ahistorical book is disappointing, but since he is from Canada more understandable that he was lead to believe this is a serious book with actual facts. I have no idea why Prof. Peterson takes this book seriously and if he sticks with it, i'd be willing to debate him on fraudelent/fiction books like "Hitler's table talk" that no serious historian would ever use as a source, but i believe he was just mislead like so many on the north american continent regarding this book

    • Take everything this guy says with a grain of salt, Jordan Peterson is a good, maybe even a great psychologist, but he doesn't know nearly as much about history. If you go to Auschwitz today, the guides will happily inform you that gas was never used to kill Jews in WW2. It was a complete fabrication by the British in a successful attempt at the biggest propaganda campaign in history, with the goal of keeping imperialist France and Britan in complete authoritarian rule. Practically everything about history is shrouded in lies and deception, mostly for political gain by evil individuals and collections that have no qualms about lying for their own gain at the expense of everybody else on earth.

At this time, I frequently visited a psychiatrist and psychologist at the Health and Wellness Center and at the time I wish I knew someone that could actually provide me valuable knowledge and insight about my depression/anxiety problems. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The psychiatrist I visited was practically useless and his answer to anything was "You should increase the dose of your medication..." When he says that "it was merciful to use zyklon B", he is thinking about the in the perspective of the Nazis. But if you just take it as is, it's can be taken quite easily as "I think it was merciful", "I agree with the Nazis." He does say afterwards it was disgusting, but it's too late for some people. So yeah, just one more reason JP has gotten hate: Misunderstanding. People hear what they wanna hear and take everything literally, ignoring the context and nuance.
