"All Warfare is Based on Deception"
- 孫子(Sun Tzu)
The Art of War
by Sunzi (c. 554BC -- c. 496 BC)
Translated by Lionel Giles (1875-1958).
"The Art of War is a Chinese military treatise written during the 6th century BC by Sun Tzu. Composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare, it has long been praised as the definitive work on military strategies and tactics of its time. The Art of War is one of the oldest and most famous studies of strategy and has had a huge influence on both military planning and beyond. The Art of War has also been applied, with much success, to business and managerial strategies."

  • This was my audiobook recording, and it is not cool for other people to be posting it to KZhead and profiting from my work by showing ads on their channel. This book was recorded by me with the intent that it would be distributed freely for people to listen to and enjoy, not to make money for random internet assholes who like to capitalize on other people's hard work. Super bad karma for you, Greatest AudioBooks. :(

Now that you have made this recording I can enjoy it without the offending ads. and enjoy it with a really good, pleasant voice that greatly adds vivid imagery. Thank you for your work.

  • I approve this translation -- the moment I heard the way he translated the five factors governing war, I knew this guy knew what he was talking about. I was born in the same town where Sun Tzu was born more than two thousands of years ago. When I was 8 years old (I shit you not...) my dad handed me a copy of Art of War with modern Chinese translation as my first studying material of ancient Chinese. So this book is in my blood, and it's good and pure. And you, my English speaking friends, are in good hands with this translator.

    • Yes. This is very true and very dangerous. Yuri bezmenoff has a video on KZhead where he explains the different steps to subversion. He mentioned The Art Of War, Sun Tzu. He claims the Soviets forced all people to study this book like a manual.

    • @@KzaMovies It's a quote from Alexander the Great in an anime series. A meaning that can be gleaned from it, is that if you can win without destroying anything, then those things are resources that you can use for further conquest. If you conquer without humiliating your enemy, then they will be more willing to submit as they see that you have treated with with honor, but if you do humiliate them then they will be more likely to rebel and thus destabilize your rule.

      @ergonamix9977@ergonamix99774 жыл бұрын
    • @@ergonamix9977 I think we all know the meaning. The extravagant explanation was unnecessary. I think it is you who is missing the point. Of course, to conquer peacefully and singing kumbaya along the way is absolutely lovely. But in a war, an actual real life war, where your enemy is not submissive and is ready to destroy in order to defeat you... ultimately you have to lose your idealistic morals and win at any cost. A true conquest, is ultimately conquering! It is not about morals. Doesn't matter whose quote it is... It sounds pretty, but thats all it is

    • @@s.a.8548 Actually.... try reading. It is ...IS.. about morals. Not to humiliate etc. Amd that would be the IDEAL way. But to guarantee success, you have to lose those morals sometimes. Its dependant on the enemy. So again... its all great that you lot try to write things pretty... poetically even... but if it doesn't make sense, dont bother. Especially you, after having the time to read it and still getting the whole context wrong. Try reading to understand. This wasn't an argument or debate in any way whatsoever. Im stating simple facts.

Sail by AWOLNATION is seemingly about an artists manifestation of his ADD, as its incorporated pretty heavily in the lyrics lol the song is alright, kinda deep, the imagery reminds me of the anti-depressant commercials that show those "closing of blinds" subliminal messages. (i can relate to the feeling, but i've also studied marketing and corporate manipulation tactics like this stuff, but anyway lol) Sometimes there is something that arises within us, and it may well grow into a strength, and perhaps in time, it could become a passion, pursuit or precipice to new levels of perseverance we may not have thought possible. just opinions but if i suggest one thing, its only to seek within. as above the entry into the Great Library of Alexandria once read "Know Thyself" (As with-in, So with-out) Cheers

    • Maybe its ADHD... Maybe its about self discipline, actually, very few teens read more than 1 book a year that's not a novel. And i say teens cause they are who have the time for sure. Your not gonna be able to read anything if you have a Phone next to you, if your waiting a message, if you take the time scrolling on youtube or instagram. Your not gonna be able to do it if you dont really want to, lets say that too. Other thing that you might know is that no one can mantain their efective attention for more than 25 minutes(with effort). So every 25 minutes you can do a break of 5 minutes, and thats enought time to reload your attention for other 25 minutes. My point is that so much people can't do it just Because they can't controll theirselves. I mean they don't want to put that effort on it. In your case maybe you could try decreasing the focus time. But keep the 5 minutes of break Because it ir always enough.

If you stop at (picking a random number) 50 minutes and 25 seconds, add the numbers to the html so it reads, "&t=50m25s". Then hit enter so your browser goes to your modified address, and bookmark it. You can also add an _h_ for hours if you're in that last 22-minute stretch.

  • The more I understand this, the more I realize how this applies to Floyd Mayweather and how great he is as a boxer. They call him a "cherry picker" but he carefully analyzes his opponents when it's the right time to fight them. He adapts to any style of opponent like no other and does not have only one strategy for victory, he's "like water". He also puts himself beyond the possibility of defeat first with great boxing IQ and defense in order to defeat his opponent, something which most people call "running". The art of war also applies to his defense itself, as his opponents don't know what to attack; the main criteria for a good defense according to Sun Tzu. The man Floyd Mayweather is undefeated for a reason; like Sun Tzu said "know the enemy and know yourself and you need not fear the result of a hundred battles". So far he had 50 of such battles and lost 0.
