When he came back out looking okay I knew all they needed was one stop and Mahomes was getting ring #2. For a little context, not only did Patrick Mahomes become the first league MVP to win the Super Bowl in the same year since Kurt Warner, the first league passing leader to win the Super Bowl, but the first NFL player to have two league MVPs and two championships in his first five years as a starter. That's a list that includes guys like Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Wayne Gretzky, and Joe DiMaggio.

  • As a Chiefs fan, I don't think I fully grasped how great of a Super Bowl this was in the moment. Emotions were everywhere and pretty tense. Watching back, both teams balled out. Just unfortunate, Bradberry tried to get away with cheating and made that the talking point right after. Chiefs deserve an immense amount of respect for pulling off a Super Bowl victory even this was supposed to be more a retooling year with all the young guys and new receiving threats

    @kcbd50@kcbd50 Жыл бұрын
    • In fairness to Bradberry, 95% of the time that's a smart penalty. If you get away with it great, but even if not you're still saving a touchdown. It's just this was one of the few situations where giving up a touchdown isn't the worst that can happen

      @spidermanjj@spidermanjj Жыл бұрын
    • @spidermanjj I agree. I really think he did save a touchdown. It is just unfortunate that was the talking point afterwards. He undoubtedly committed the penalty but instead of showing KC the respect, it was all about the refs calling the oenalty.

    • Yes. 2 classy teams & no doubt the 2 best teams. Some years there’s better teams in one of the 2 conferences that could just as easily have won (like all those consecutive years of NFC victories where the NFC title game was seen as the real Super Bowl. This Super Bowl had both the #1 & #2 teams in the entire NFL. Great game & it was played well. Reminded of a Super Bowl from the 1970s & that’s a good thing.

      @r.williamcomm7693@r.williamcomm7693 Жыл бұрын
    • wtf u talkin bout bradberry, even juju/most players watching thought it was BS not cuz it wasnt a call (soft but still a call) but its the fact they were inconsistent not calling ANY db penalties till the last min or two - also u obv didnt follow any of this story cuz Bradberry IMMEDIATLY took the high road and admitted it was a penalty - only for JUJu to make a clown of himself with that v-day post since brad wasnt even being salty etc - and acting like 'HE' made it a talking point - theres a reason EVERY nfl pundit, postgame, recap, highlight show like this ALL highlight that call, because it was inconsistent - or u think everyone in the media is from philly?

      @JAWNDOEmusic@JAWNDOEmusic Жыл бұрын
    • As a chiefs fan holding was the worst thing Bradberry could have done there. As even if the Chiefs scored a touchdown there the eagles would have gotten the ball back and im not sure that we stop them, as hurts was playing the game of his life. Plus if the eagles scored I guarantee they would have went for two for the win.

    • @@PK-gi2qh so did the ref commit the penalty. Or are you salty he did what he’s paid to do for a living and refree a game. Last I checked the chiefs were already inside the 20 easy field goal range. Eagles offers in general is a long drive team so you can’t even guarantee they would have moved the ball. Outside 1 drive in the second half the eagles did nothing

      @gold_ram_5.780@gold_ram_5.780 Жыл бұрын
    • @@mr.nmtrue5059 chiefs were already in field goal range. Bradberry iced the game yes he held twice on 1 play. Eagles up by 10 at the half lost that game. If the refs wanted to give them the game why would those key calls earlier all go the eagles way.

      @gold_ram_5.780@gold_ram_5.780 Жыл бұрын
    • @Gold_ Ram_5.7 what key calls?? They overturned smiths catch after ruling it a catch on field which without visual evidence then calls stands? Also never called holding all game until that play, chiefs didn't earn anything and if you think they did then your eyes are dead, yes eagles blew 10pt lead but look what call caused that would have been 14pt lead at half, also holding to ice game is ridiculous you know it, they want chiefs to be patriots so bad
