  • Just to have a whole team say 'we got Tom Brady' as their mantra while behind, that's a whole other level of greatness

    • They never gave up they believed in themselves and tom brady the 4th quarter boss even when the whole world thought it was over they never gave up its not over till the last whistle. And the falcons got in the mindset that they had won and figured they could take it easy and started making mistakes

I'm an eagles fan and it kind of stings to say that but as long as Andy Reid is coaching the chiefs. Mahomes has a great shot every year but it will be very hard for mahomes to get to 7 but he will get 5 at least I think

They hurt but the Pats were clearly the under dogs in both of those, but RK learned some things. If my memory serves me correctly. BB as DC was building his SB experiences & game planning. Going 5-2 from that point is very good as QB & HC. Champions never quit.

  • To the Atlanta Falcons and their Fans. I am a New England Patriots fan since childhood growing up in Massachusetts making the trips to Sullivan Stadium in the snow, ice or rain sitting on those cold aluminum bleachers watching my heroes fight hard and lose harder when in most cases it meant nothing. Especially in a time in the NFL when there was: Dallas, Pittsburgh, Miami, Raiders, San Francisco and everyone else. New England traveled an amazing road to their first Super Bowl (XX) only to get blown out by the Chicago Bears. Up to that time in NFL history, New England was the only wild-card team to make the Super Bowl. New England would eventually play the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl (XXXI) only to lose, again. Five years later The Patriots would make it to the Super Bowl (XXXVL) for their third appearance this time defeating the St. Louis Rams. It was the greatest feeling. Years of suffering as a fan seemed worth it at that moment. New England would go on to secure two more Super Bowl wins against The Carolina Panthers (XXXVIII) and The Philadelphia Eagles (XXXIX). Since the start of the Belichick/Brady era at New England, all wins and losses were nail biters. A torture to the cardiovascular system. Then came the shattering loss to the New York Giants (XLII) ending New England's chance of a perfect season. That was the hardest loss to take. I never got over “The Catch" by David Tyree. Butler would later send that memory deep into the past with his interception against the Seattle Seahawks (XLIX) three years later. To lose to the Giants(XLVI) again was a reminder of what it was like to be a Patriot's fan all the years prier to their success. Of course we (all New England fans) were spoiled by that point. We could never have seen what would become of the franchise to now. Being called cheaters by the haters trying to bring down the organization in as many creative opportunities they could design is all part of the package. It's great to be hated from this side of the fence, so to speak. I am still proud to be Patriot's Fan. Atlanta! The Falcon Organization is stellar. You have amazing exceptional talent. You will return to the super bowl again and you will win. Third time is a charm! (although I prefer it not against New England.) What happens after that? Anything's possible. Most importantly, never give up on your boys. Eventually, they will come through for you. Good luck! A Patriot's Fan

    • Drew G bro whether or not Julian Edelman made the catch or not the Patriots would have still won the game because the out come and certain plays are scripted is what you aren’t understanding. That last punt by Atlanta was caught on the 7 yard line but the officials placed it on the 9 and that’s when Joe Buck announced that if they scored on that drive that would’ve tied the season record. And the reason they did that was to keep people interested in the game, it’s just an example of countless scripted scenarios

  • As a lifelong Falcons fan since the early 70's----yes, there are plenty of us----I can tell you that so many fans are still hurting from this loss and obsessing over each single play that alone could have reversed the final outcome. I'm not a religious person, but it seems the universe conspired for the perfect storm that turned our rout into a defeat so quickly. Still--idiotic, narcissistic play-calling was main reason we gave the game away. The Falcons occupy a uniquely woeful role in sports that has now been amplified and cemented. You recall what I mean, Cubs fans? Nonetheless, congrats to the Patriots and Brady, the only team and QB that would have had the fortitude/skills/brains to come back like that. Hard to say it wasn't our year, but damn, as close as we were, I guess it wasn't.

    • eslgurucalif Every teams been there, Pats in 07 for example. The wound never heals but trust me, once Brady retires the Falcons will have a chance again someday. Every team eventually gets their number called so to speak, just takes some teams longer than others *cough* Cleveland *cough*

    • when the Pats lost in 07, i was in college and i cried each time i remember the catch for a whole off-season, after that it remained like a throbbing pain in my chest. when they lost again in 12, i was already working and i made an effort never to watch NFL games again. i became a bandwagon basketball fan, cheering for whichever team is winning, in an effort to lose football in my system. but my heart just keeps comin back to the Pats, i will read final scores on the internet but never really watched games anymore. then 2014 came, and i swear to God when i read reports that they got Revis in free agency, i promised myself i will watch this whole season again and if it ends up in a devastating heart break again thats the time im finally cutting lose from the NFL. guess you can say i am fully back now but still each time that Tyree catch comes up (like it did on 51 which caused me to almost have a heart attack), i still feel that sting. long story short, we sports fans are familiar with this pain :) anyway im just sharing. it's May now and im still watching this :)

    • I see it the same way but perhaps not for the reason suggested above but perhaps God is making a point about the state of this country. Most folks don't really know the danger America is in with regard to those who want to take her down. It is as if the Lord is saying America should be down for the count but I have other plans. The true patriots are going to come through with prayers and actions and this country is going to survive.
