The CHÂTEAU GRAND Entrance, Building a road by HAND. Ep 81
Bonjour à tous,
This week at the chateau, the work continues on building the new road. With the second entrance now built its time for the next stage, the delivery of the gravel, JUST 100 ton should do it. Unfortunately all has to be moved by hand so the families wonderful friends @ChateaudelaFerte Carole & Adrian come to the rescue and help out. Its going to be a tiring episode but with unbelievable results.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

I didn’t know it was possible to care so much about a family I’ve never met in person, but I do. You’re doing such a wonderful restoration job.💖💖
Thank you so much Cheryl!
Mom enjoyed it! I love her!
Such a lovely thing to say. I feel the same way! And that Ash has remembered my real name!
I feel exactly the same
I feel the same! Never met them in person but feel like they are friends.
So nice of Carole & Adrian to come over and help 😁😁
It was amazing having them :)
and she wore her painting shirt!
Oh Patrick is Fabulous, He was Always the Top Man at the Chateau ( Well After Ash) 👌👍👏👏👏👏❤️
That entrance photo says it all really!!! It announces to the world ‘This is the chateau!’ What a beautiful balance of the chateau in nature. Awwww!!! Sweet little Lord Patrick driving the tractor!!! You are all troopers for the heavy lifting you do!!!😁❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇫🇷
Thanks Kerry-Lynn
It's so good to see the two families from my two favorite channels coming together in one place. The driveway to the chateau looks fantastic! You'll appreciate it being done with the coming rains and winter snow fall not turning it into a muddy mess I'm sure. With Adrian and Carole there to help I'm sure there was never a dull moment in sharing the stories of the two chateau restoration. Great job everyone on another job marked off your "To Do" list!
Yes, it was great to see Adrian and Carole helping out. The new road and entrances are a fantastic improvement to the Chateau! Well done. And if I remember rightly Adrian and Carole are thinking of a new entrance road to their Chateau so perhaps the road gang will do a repeat performance! And I enjoyed all the dogs in full flight on the new road. Give Lord Patrick a pat for me! 🥰🥰
They are my two favorite channels as well!
You folks are the hardest working people I've ever "known"!!! You must be tired to the bone by the time you crawl into bed at night! The results of all the planning and work are showing, though. I'd say you escaped to a nightmare, but you are turning it into a beautiful dream. With love from a grandma in PA, USA! 🥰
So nice of Carole and Adrian to come and help. Wonderful neighbors ❤️
The difference from when you posted how the chateau and grounds looked when you first bought it to now is astonishing. The sheer amount of work and resolve to come so far with it being done by hand and love. You all are having a blessed life living the dream.
Adrian and Carole are true friends, that is back-breaking blister-making work. 🇦🇺
I've been following Carole & Adrian since I was introduced to them by the châtelains at Lalacelle. Like Terry, Ash, Tracy, Tony and Jonathan, they're pretty awesome too and what a beautiful château they have at La Ferte, both inside and out. They've also made amazing progress in a fairly short period of time. The driveway is looking wonderful. Great effort on your part.
Patrick’s a real people pleaser and digger extraordinaire. Good work and great for Adrian and Carol to help. Hats off to you all from PA, USA.
I think it’s lovely to see chateau owners helping other chateau owners❤
It's the same between farmers, they will come together, to help a farmer when in need, through illness, death and hardship.
Thank you. Carole and Adrian. !!!!! You guys are very generous!!!!!
Having shovelled and built our acreage driveway, I know how hard this project was. Amazing job everyone!
The tractor is the star of the show😂
Amazing- your family has literally built a road by hand. Fantastic work. And how wonderful that Carole and Adrian came over to help- great friends.
Love seeing two hardworking families coming together to help and support each other. I know how back breaking that work really is. In my 30’s I had to spread gravel for a driveway that was only 118 feet long and I know how much I hurt after that. Lord Patrick is so adorable and such a helpful digger 😂😂😂Bravo to all the hardworking people in both chateaux 🎉🎉🎉The driveway looks fantastic ❤❤❤
I cannot believe that the driver didn't somewhat release the stone all along the length of the road 😳. Then you guys for the most part would have only had to spread it out to the sides and do some smoothing and leveling. But your hard work paid off, it looks great!! Nice that you and Adrian & Carol live close enough to help each other out. Good you can spend some time together as well.
Thanks Risa!
Looks like he did try to tail gate it a little… just not enough though.
Great job from every one Love watching Adrian & Carole as well 🤗👍⭐❤ Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
I’m in awe is the physical condition of everyone in this family. This one was a backer.
I’ve never seen any chateau owners help each other like this. Wow! Both families are setting great examples of kindness and generosity. Who better knows the struggles. The road looks amazing. Lord Patrick suits you, we all know your the true Châtelain 🤣🏰🇫🇷Great job. I’ll head over and subscribe. Thanks for sharing your journey. Cheers.
Chateau de la ferte is one of my favorite vlogs. Carole has done an amazing job on her salon.
What a backbreaking job! The truck delivery driver could have made the task a lot easier if he’d gradually dropped the gravel all the way down the driveway instead of just dumping it. Great effort as usual family!
Exactly. Why did the truck driver make it so difficult for you. A gradual spread down the driveway could’ve reduced your work by 75%.
You never know why.
Exactly my thoughts. No reason at all that an experienced driver couldn't do a nice spread of whatever depth requested down the length of the drive. Marvellous, but back-breaking work they've done.....as usual!
that's what I just typed
Came here to see how many other folks were yelling at the truck driver. That would not have happened on any of my job sites! Remarkable work to shovel in to the trailer and then shovel out of the trailer. My mind is still blown as to why the driver did this not once, or twice, but three times! Hopefully this comment section will help the crew to request an even spread on the next one.
Carol and Adrian, you’re the tops!!! What a wonderful friendship you have with Tony, Tracy, Terry, and Johnathan. Tracy, your family is doing such a great job on that road. WOW WOW WOW on watching ya’ll hand shovel that gravel into place. So inspiring! 😀
And ASH…can’t believe I didn’t put your sweet name in. Hugs, Candice ☺️😊☺️
Little Lord Patrick well deserves his title. He does so much digging. Bless him. I'm Lady,, my kids got it for me when I became 50. I have the card in my purse and the certificate on my kitchen wall. The road looks amazing, brilliant job. X
Now those are friends. How lovely you all are. Lol 😆. It looks great. ❤ 😍 💖 ❣ 💕
Anyone who has moved a few tons of gravel/road base around knows what back-breaking work it is.....congrats on the improvement. There is nothing like the sound of gravel under your wheels - it says " We're HOME!"
Wow, I just saw Adrian & Carol. What great friends.
I love the way some of the chateau owners pitch in and help each other when help is needed. Jonathon is a proper little sweetheart. Well done everyone. Looking good.
2 of my favorite Chateau’s
What a world of difference that’s made and an extra two pairs of hands to lighten the load.
Wonderful friends helping friends.
Wow! The road looks amazing. Thanks for your help Carole and Adrian. You chateau owners never shy away from hard work. Johnatan gave it his all too. Congratulations to Lord Patrick on his new title which suits him very well. You all work so well together and best of all, you all brought all of us in and made us feel welcome like family. Lots of love to you all.
Nice to see you all + Carole and Adrian Lovely results...the new driveway is a game changer. Looks like a real chateau now.🤗👌👍🤙Patrick the sausage dog is a cutie!!
What a job ,it was nice to see Carole and Adrian helping you out with the new road, which looks wonderful, and that chair which Lord Patrick sat in was stunning, great video once again x 💕🌼🌼🤗
Two wonderful hard working families, really nice to see you all together supporting each other! The road looks fantastic great job everyone! Lord Patrick...the title suits him very much! 😊 Thank you for sharing, take really good care of yourselves & each other! Lots of love Kathy x💖(Canada)
Wow! What a job, well done and lovely to have good friends Carol and Adrian offering their help things are really moving along these days. Lord Patrick so well named 💕 take care x
Yes Patrick you are the lord of the manor for sure. If you own a dachshund, you just know.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think Tracey and Carole are a pair of the hardest working women on these Chateau shows. My husband said you need a new fan belt on the tractor. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
For those those who don't know Carole and Adrian they should check out Chateau de la Ferte. My two favorite vlogs together!
You should get a bucket for that tractor and it would save you a lot of work. But you never shy away from work, so 😉
Box Blade and Roller. Two inexpensive implements that will hook up to tractor and will save you a lot of work in maintenance and perfecting surface now and into future.
Great job all of you , it is so wonderful to see you all helping each other. Great friends !
Carol, Adrian! I just love them as well! They are how I found you! You both are my favorite. You're all so hard working and relatable. Your just lovely people ❤️
Omg, Patrick you are so adorable!! Excuse me, I mean Lord Patrick.
So nice to an entire family working together. I cheer you on every week! Patrick is Lord Patrick now!! Too cool! Hope everyone has a rest after all that back breaking work.💖💖💖
Hello lord Patrick from lady Joyce in Florida USA. Received my title last year Christmas. It makes a wonderful gift. Thanks to all of you for making my evenings a delight. Keep up the good work and the château is amazing!
If you have an old metal bed springs, strip/burn the cover off. Then you can drag it behind your tractor. It will level out your stone once you get it scattered.
I just Love this family and this lil buddy this lil guy is so so so special. I just luv him.
It's great to see you join forces with Adrian and Carole. It's setting up a great Château network for helping each other out. A Brit network, 100 tons...not much then...
@@ashleywaters7198 you mean you couldn't get rid of me!!!!!! Cxxx
I’m exhausted watching all that hard work 😂
Glad to see Patrick has got his true rewards for all that digging, hard work and generally just been adorable 🎉beautiful little fella ❤ P.S the drive looks fantastic 😮
Everyone was working hard and so was his lordship….digging in the grass 😂. Part of the reason we watch are the puppies ❤
I LOVE Patrick!!!
Heavens, it's exhausting just to watch you move all that gravel but the result is spectacular. Looking forward to seeing the entrances built and rendered and the gates restored. Glad to see Patrick has added tractor driving to his skillset. He is a very "paws-on" lord
I truly admire them! They work all together like a lovely family….so precious feeling!❤❤❤
Jonathan is such a hard worker. Well done all of you.
How lovely to have Carole & Adrian help you! It was so great to see all of you working together on this massive project! It is looking great!
Would have saved a lot of work if the lorry driver would have dropped the gravel gradually instead of in piles. Our road crews are excellent at unloading in nice even depth. Regardless, your group accomplished an incredibly long stretch in 1 day👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Stunning!! Great friends and a Lord to help. 😊
Used your link the last time for a birthday gift for my nephew. He LOVED it! Seriously, it's absolutely brilliant 👏
Next investment is a Front Bucket for the tractor? Looking amazing as always.
Oh and CONGRATULATIONS LORD PATRICK!!
Besides the pesky physical labor, I can imagine the fun that was had with this great group of folks! The driveway looks great, only true friends would offer to help with a project like that! I started watching Adrian and Carole @ChateaudelaFerte about 7, 8 month's ago, it was from there I found Château de Lalacelle, Terry had gone shopping with Adrian & Carole and I've been watching, trying to catch up and enjoying ever since.💓
Congratulations Patrick Been Lord Of The Chateau 😂🐾🐕🐾😂
Wonderful friends!!!
The handmade (!) road makes such a difference, beautiful, not only the looks but certainly the way it was built! Very sympathetic of Carole and Adrian to come and help you! Jonathan is a real trooper!
If ever a family should enjoy the efforts of life, it certainly is yours. What an amazing amount of work this has been, what a work ethic you all possess. I tip my hat to you. 🐨💐
Looking Good...Love it when the pups help, I love to see their reaction...
Mom is a harding working woman. She is tough. Looking great guys.
I can't believe how much grunt work you people are willing to do, most men would rent the biggest piece of equipment and made short shrift of that driveway. Also, I'm not sure why the delivery person did not do more of a running dump then they did. Would have saved you a lot of back breaking work. A huge kudos to all of you! Looks wonderful.
Haha 😂 Patrick the Lord of the Manor so gorgeous. That is one seriously long road to the Chateau, but it looks so good now with the gravel down and the entrance is going to look stunning too.
I knew Lord Patrick was a master hole digger from all the work he has done around the chateau, but I didn’t realize he could also drive a tractor! The road is going to look quite impressive on its own, but as visitors enter the gates and approach the chateau, this new road will allow them to see her looking regal and proud. Such hard work will definitely pay off.
Gosh when I saw the drone shot of all the gravel that needed spreading I realised the magnitude of the task. Terry you owe Carole and Adrian some upholstery time. Many hands make light work is so true.
Holy moly, who needs a gym membership when you live at Château Delalalacelle!! That was such a long driveway to do by hand!🤦♀️ we raked just a little bit here and that was enough! Lol.
Magnífico trabajo también de vuestros amigos!!
In Kiwiland our delivery trucks know how to lay a metal drive. The drive at the correct speed and cover the drive evenly. Something we do right! No hard work, just a bit of fixing here and there. Big hugs.
Trojan work all 👏 Just remember Carole & Adrian’s new driveway is bigger - when your chipping in 😂
Haha well said Carol!!!!
I was waiting for this one, "holy cow !" Adrian would say.
That driver did a terrible job dumping the gravel. So much extra work for you all. 😒But, you powered through and it looks amazing. 🥰
There is another massive job done and ticked off of your list to restore le Chateau de LaLacelle. You are simply amazing, each and everyone of you including Sir Patrick who never fails to put a smile on my face. 💗
The whole site is now looking really smart and tidy 😊
It’s finally starting to look a little better and not like a building site now 🥰
Lord Patrick is sooooo adorable.
Wow 🤩 wow 🤩 wow 🤩
I think I say this every time I comment, you are a lovely, kind, hard working family. Adrian and Carole were the extra hands you needed to get it done and wow, it looks amazing. You have achieved so much in the short time you’ve owned the chateau. Good job! xx
The drone captured an artistic visual of a cat face from the gate entrance towards the chateau. Mayhaps a Cateau? Such hard work and it looks amazing!
WOW! Your family is no joke!! Your really getting it done. Watching since day 1 every little step brings you closer to your dream. Good reminder to dream big 😊thanks
Thank you so much 🥰
You guys need a box blade to go on your tractor.. It would cut your work down to a fraction of the time.. The place is looking good..
That was a truely amazing job. Well done everyone including Jonathan, the old tractor was a godsend thats for sure. It looks so much better and when the winter weather sets in it will make life a bit easier. You all deserve a pizza and beer or wine for that. 💕🇦🇺
Living in community...helping friends and neighbors thrive and achieve goals. What a great life.

It was so nice to see two of my favorite chanbels working together.
Can you stand it to hear you all are AMAZING once again! ❤️🇨🇦
I’m in awe of you all! Lots of hugs 💝💙💙💙💙🏡
Wonderful work. Well done before the winter. We adore little Lord Patrick. I think that he deserves his own mug or Tshirt.
You are all so awesome working together! And the pooches don’t need to do anything to be an amusing tickle! Wished the truck driver could have given you a longer spread on the driveway so you wouldn’t have had to reload and hall it, but great job to you all! It’s all looking so good.
