Humans have been obsessed with the idea of immortality for hundreds of years. From the Philosopher’s Stone and the Fountain of Youth, our ancestors have been searching for ways to extend life, just like we have in the age of modern medicine. There are some animals out there that have left us perplexed with how resilient they are and how they basically don’t age or regenerate fast enough to live really long.
From deep in the sea, to slow, land-dwelling animals, there are those that scientists are studying for their secrets to immortality. Some of these creatures are microscopic, and they’ve been here a very long time. And there are some deep-sea giants swimming around too! If you thought Crush from Finding Nemo was old, then we’re here to tell you he wasn’t even close to the oldest animals on planet Earth.
Get ready to meet some really mind-boggling creatures among the ten immortal animals that never die!

Tardigrades
These microscopic invertebrates are also called water bears or moss piglets and are insanely resilient. You can burn them or freeze them and they’ll come out fine. Tardigrades can go without water or food for up to thirty years. These little guys can basically bear extreme conditions with total ease, including radiation!
They can last in temperatures as high as three hundred Fahrenheit for ten hours and they don’t do so bad at minus four hundred and fifty-seven degrees either. And air pressure of six thousand atmospheres? No problem! These tiny creatures are found in the hot springs at the top of the Himalayas and as deep as 2.4 miles in the sea. Whenever they’re in an unfavorable environment, they just stop their metabolisms and wait them out. Pretty cool right!
Jellyfish
Meet the jellyfish that basically never dies. Turritopsis dohrnii was first discovered in the Mediterranean Sea in the 1880s. Its incredible ability to regenerate when injured and multiplying instead of dying is what makes it a significant part of this list. Basically, it can only die if someone eats it! At full length, they’re no bigger than your pinky nail at 0.18 inches These tiny creatures are transparent and you can see their bright red stomachs through their bodies.
When they reach maturity they sink to the bottom of the ocean and turn into a polyp. This polyp then transforms into many little jellyfish, that grow to maturity and repeat the process. What’s really cool though, is that if faced with danger or injury, these little guys just turn back into a polyp! And regenerate into several jellyfish, ensuring they don’t die and are undamaged. What a way to keep the cycle of life going!

  • Turritopsis dohrnii is called the immortal jellyfish because it can potentially live forever. Jellyfish start life as larvae before establishing themselves on the seafloor and transforming into polyps. These polyps then produce free-swimming medusas, or jellyfish. (From google)

  • Lies. Number 1 isn't accurate. Only few of these beings survived in such harsh conditions. It's like saying that human can live underwater, when he lives in a house full of oxygen just under the sea lvl 😆😂🤣 please do research then say, that it could survive anything 😁
